David Castillo Wa. 03, Endorsed By FreedomWorks PAC

by lewwaters

David Castillo, Republican candidate for Washington States 3rd Congressional District to replace retiring Democrat Brian Baird, received an important endorsement today, March 15, 2010. FreedomWorks PAC, the political arm of FreedomWorks, chaired by Dick Armey, has given their endorsement to Castillo.

FreedomWorks, Founded in 1984 is a National Organization of nearly 900,000 people standing for ‘lower taxes and less government.’ Members work for fundamental tax reform to promote their mission of defending “individual freedom and economic opportunity.”

In endorsing David Castillo, Chairman Dick Armey said,

“We are proud to endorse David Castillo as a Champion of Freedom. His commitment to fundamental free market principles tells me he will be one of the leaders in the next Congress on core limited government issues.”

Castillo is now one of only four House challengers to be endorsed by the FreedomWorks PAC and listed on their ‘Top Targets’ list. Endorsed candidates are referred to as a “Champions Of Freedom”.

Receiving such a crucial endorsement, Castillo said,

“I am truly honored and humbled to have their support. Having seen this organization from the inside, I know and share their strong commitment to promote freedom through lower taxes and less government. When it comes to fiscal responsibility and conservative economic principles – FreedomWorks and Dick Armey are the real deal.”

The complete Press Release may be read HERE

David Castillo was the first to challenge Brian Baird in this race, months before he announced retirement. He has worked tirelessly traveling the district to meet people and earn their support and donations. In true grassroots fashion, he has worked a campaign from the ground up and remains the top Republican find raiser to date.

David Castillo is the right candidate at the right time and we in Wa. 03 deserve a strong Representative like David. We should not settle for less.

Ann Rivers Receives NRA Award, Along With Don Benton and Tom Mielke

by lewwaters

Ann Rivers, candidate for the 18th Legislative District seat being vacated by Jaime Herrera, was surprised Saturday evening, March 13, 2010, to receive an NRA Award while attending the annual Friends of the NRA Banquet held at the Clark County Event Center.

Also receiving an NRA Award were State Senator Don Benton and Clark County Commissioner Tom Mielke.

In a Press Release issued today, Ann said,

“I was taken totally by surprise. And I was thrilled and honored to be in such great company. I come from a family of hunters, and as a result I was very pleased to be included with such luminaries as Senator Benton and Commissioner Mielke. We all know the importance of both gun rights and gun safety, and I was happy to acknowledge this memento for my support of the goals of the NRA.”

Ann acknowledged to me that she has been working to raise money to send 4 young marksmen, Olympic hopefuls, to the national competition.

Ann is a long time supporter of gun rights and the 2nd Amendment saying, “Once the 2nd Amendment is dismantled, the remaining amendments aren’t far behind.”

How true.

Ann, along with her husband Fred and sons Rex and Derrick have hunted many times together. “One of the many legacies I want to leave behind is the right to hunt and to insure that families coming on after mine will continue to enjoy this fantastic hobby and adventure,” Ann says.

I join many others in congratulating Ann on receiving this well deserved recognition and for standing up for one of our most basic rights as American citizens.

Congratulations to Don Benton and Tom Mielke for supporting those essential rights as well.

UPDATE: Jon Rusell claims receipt of NRA recognition as well. Jon Russell: Select few awarded at Clark County Annual NRA Banquet

New York Times ‘Shameless’ Attempt To Bolster Obama

by lewwaters

The New York Times, long known to be one of fartherest left-leaning pro-socialist propaganda pieces in print has outdone themselves in their attempt today to ‘resurrect’ both a failed presidency and a piece of legislation the majority of American citizens say they do not want.

As Health Vote Awaits, Future of a Presidency Waits, Too

Will their next photo spread show Obama wearing a white robe, a crown of thorns and nailed to the cross?

Imagine, if you will, the outraged editorials the New York Times would print had Fox News published that same photo with George W. Bush in it.
