David Castillo, Republican candidate for Washington States 3rd Congressional District to replace retiring Democrat Brian Baird, received an important endorsement today, March 15, 2010. FreedomWorks PAC, the political arm of FreedomWorks, chaired by Dick Armey, has given their endorsement to Castillo.

FreedomWorks, Founded in 1984 is a National Organization of nearly 900,000 people standing for ‘lower taxes and less government.’ Members work for fundamental tax reform to promote their mission of defending “individual freedom and economic opportunity.”

In endorsing David Castillo, Chairman Dick Armey said,

“We are proud to endorse David Castillo as a Champion of Freedom. His commitment to fundamental free market principles tells me he will be one of the leaders in the next Congress on core limited government issues.”

Castillo is now one of only four House challengers to be endorsed by the FreedomWorks PAC and listed on their ‘Top Targets’ list. Endorsed candidates are referred to as a “Champions Of Freedom”.

Receiving such a crucial endorsement, Castillo said,

“I am truly honored and humbled to have their support. Having seen this organization from the inside, I know and share their strong commitment to promote freedom through lower taxes and less government. When it comes to fiscal responsibility and conservative economic principles – FreedomWorks and Dick Armey are the real deal.”

David Castillo was the first to challenge Brian Baird in this race, months before he announced retirement. He has worked tirelessly traveling the district to meet people and earn their support and donations. In true grassroots fashion, he has worked a campaign from the ground up and remains the top Republican find raiser to date.

David Castillo is the right candidate at the right time and we in Wa. 03 deserve a strong Representative like David. We should not settle for less.

  1. Castillo gets endorsement from pro-illegal alien amnesty group. Good post Lew. At least he has come clean on the issue by accepting the endorsement.

  2. That was rather sophmoric, Joe. FreedomWorksPAC is not necessarily Dick Armey. Unless, of course, you think the 900,000 members are all pro-amnesty.

David has made his position clear for many months now, which apparently you didn’t bother to even check.

If you bothered to check, you’d find posted prominently on FreedomWorks web page, The Pence Plan: No Amnesty Immigration Reform. At the beginning of that plan, you can see,

The Four-Step Solution: No Amnesty Immigration Reform

I see the solution as a four-step process:

    1. Secure our border.
    2. Make the decision, once and for all, to deny amnesty to people whose first act in the United States was a violation of the law.
    3. Put in place a guest worker program, without amnesty, that will efficiently provide American employers with willing guest workers who come to America legally.
    4. Enforce tough employer sanctions that ensure a full partnership between American business and the American government in the enforcement of our laws on immigration and guest workers.

  3. Of course, no one else can have a valid point except Lew. I forgot. Tell me does victoria taft know about your support for RINO’s?

  4. More sophmoric tries, Joe?

If only my point were allowed, your comment would have been deleted.

What is it about you people that you cannot handle clear facts?

Something you have not considered in your diatribe, Joe. Slade Gorton is pro-choice and he has endorsed Jaime Herrera. Does that make Jaime pro-choice? Have I ever accused Jaime of being pro-choice?

You really need to rely on facts, Joe and stop trying to keep the whisper campaign going.

  5. Well, Joe, I’m sure you’d be at least as upset about supporting an SEIU-endorsed candidate like Herrera, right?

God save us from an empty-suited ACORN supporter who hasn’t even lived here for 11 out of the past 13 years.
