Castillo Signs in Support of “Contract From America”

by lewwaters

David Castillo, Olympia businessman, former sub-cabinet member of the Veterans Administration and the Department of Homeland Security and the first candidate to announce running against now retiring Brian Baird for the 3rd Congressional District, has signed on to the Contract From America, showing his continuing strong support for the growing citizens Tea Party movement.

From their website, we read in part,

“The Contract from America is a grassroots-generated, crowd-sourced, bottom-up call for real economic conservative and good governance reform in Congress.”

“The Contract from America initiative was developed within the decentralized tea party and 912 movements. Ryan Hecker, a Houston Tea Party Society activist, developed the concept of creating a grassroots-generated call for reform prior to the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Party rallies.”

The Contract From America calls for

1. Protect the Constitution
2. Reject Cap & Trade
3. Demand a Balanced Budget
4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government
6. End Runaway Government Spending
7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
9. Stop the Pork
10. Stop the Tax Hikes

David first announced his grassroots effort to run against Democrat Brian Baird in May 2009, months before others who opted to wait until after the unexpected retirement of the 6 term congressman.

David has received numerous endorsements from AG Rob McKenna, several Washington State Republican legislators as well as FreedomWorks and Christian Conservative leaders around the state.

David has maintained a consistent and strong conservative stand on relevant issues that affect all of us within the 3rd Congressional District and America.

No other candidate has shown the strength that is going to be required to stand up to the presumed Democratic candidate, Denny Heck nor have they shown a clear articulation on relevant issues of the day, as was noted by Seattle PI’s columnist, Joel Connelly, The race is on for a wide open US House seat.

Conservatives, this is our chance to gain an important seat in Washington D.C. and be represented by the best candidate I have seen run in many years.

I invite you to look for yourselves and see why David Castillo is prepared to represent us.

Are we ready to support him?
