Food Stamps To Pay I-5 Bridge Tolls?

by lewwaters

A brief exchange between Columbia River Crossing Environmental Manager Heather Wills and city council member Jeanne Harris on the use of Food Stamps (EBT Cards) to pay for tolls crossing the new & improved I-5 Bridge once constructed.

Hasn’t the state been complaining about Food Stamps being used for purchases other than food for some time now?

  1. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t the entire matter of tolls out of their control? Why are they even talking about this?

Or is that just another one of Leavitt’s Lies ™?

  2. Seems I do recall Timmy saying more than once that tolls are not part of council agenda.

But, as we saw several times, it only matters if you speak against them at council meetings.

Comments in favor were always readily accepted and appreciated.

What happens when food stamp recipients don’t have enough left to feed their children, after paying tolls?

Just up the amount of food stamps?
