It’s going to be much worse than Carter…
I don’t think anyone could be worse than Carter. I’d take 5 Baracks before I’d take another Jimmy.
What I mean is that Obama’s defeat in 2012 will be much worse than Carter’s was, and Ronald Reagan kicked Carter’s ass so hard he conceded before the polls closed on the West Coast…..
Bob, which one of the Rs is going to beat Obama? (I’d give Bobby Jindal or Chris Christie a chance but they’re not running.)
Party aside, just speaking political odds, Obama’s got this one running away. Hate and disgust isn’t enough to win – you gotta have a great candidate.
Martin, I have to disagree with you. You said, “Hate and disgust isn’t enough to win – you gotta have a great candidate.”
Yet, 8 years of hate & disgust preached nearly daily against George W. Bush is how we got Obama.
No one bothered to look at whether or not he was qualified or had any experience, he had the majority of the media on his side as if they were bought and paid for.
Lew – excellent rebuttal of Martin’s argument. The Democrats started in on him shortly after 9/11 and never stopped. That worked for them so I suppose it will work for the Republicans too.
Personally I think the Republicans go overboard on Obama just like the Dems did on Bush…maybe we should call them Antichrist One and Antichrist Two?
Regarding Martin’s point about there not being a ‘great’ candidate to go against Obama, he is right – there isn’t another Ronald Reagan available at the moment. However, Obama is so weak at this point, either Gingrich or Romney could beat him if the election were held today. Don’t know what will happen by next year though. If the economy is still in the dumps next year, and the Democrats can’t convince the electorate that “it’s all the Republicans’ fault”, Obama is history.
And who exactly is going to defeat Obama .The Republican race is dominated by ignorance, lies and scandals. The current crop of candidates have shown such a basic lack of knowledge that they make George W. Bush look like Einstein. The Grand Old Party is ruining the entire country’s reputation.
