Attacking Limbaugh, Liberals Ignore Years Of Their Own Misogyny

by lewwaters

Time and again, the sheer hypocrisy and double standards practiced by Liberal Democrats glares out at America, and goes largely ignored, especially by our very own liberally biased lamestream media.

No better example can exist than their cries of a “Misogynistic Right” and their actions of being “holier than thou” in condemnations of Rush Limbaugh or any other well known conservative they despise when they make a clear disparaging comment against a woman.

I won’t excuse Rush and agree that his use of the word “slut” was over the top and uncalled for. But, he did apologize on air.

That meant nothing to liberals who have for many years now wanted to silence the right, especially Rush Limbaugh.

March 6, 2012 saw an email blast from “Kristen at,” a spin-off of far left leaning that begins, “That’s it. We need to rush Rush off the air,” and adds, “Rush’s misogynistic tirades are harmful. Our daughters see that when women speak up for women, they can be ridiculed, demeaned, and labeled ‘prostitutes.’ And what’s even more outrageous is that many of the commercial sponsors of Rush’s show are marketing directly to women.”

Just today, this same “Kristen” sent another email blast titled, “Tell Rush’s Corporate Sponsors to Use the Withdrawal Method.”

Also on March 6, 2012, a “D. Washington” representing and titled “Clear Channel: Cancel Rush Limbaugh‏.” That email makes the claim, “Rush Limbaugh’s radio show is a part of the Clear Channel lineup, and it’s time that they no longer allow Rush Limbaugh to spew hateful and derogatory comments.”

The Washington Post’s Alexandra Petri penned a blatant lie and when called on it by Rush, on air, and instead of just admitting she was wrong and issuing a simple apology, launches into a screed attacking Rush because he described her trash as “b-i-tchy” and “an out-and-out lie,” whining it is not how she expected to spend “International Women’s Day.”

And, can we not see the hypocrisy in her meme attacking Rush’s poor choice of words as she claims “It turns out that people who really, truly still enjoy Rush Limbaugh’s show are, how do I put this, jerks?”

Maybe Ms. Petri has already spent an excessive time Getting in tough with her Inner Bitch.

Returning to Kristen from, she also says, “Let’s teach Rush Limbaugh and his corporate sponsors that moms stand up to bullies. And if you target and try to silence us, or our daughters, there will be a high price to pay.”

Do Mom’s really stand up to Bullies? If so, I’d like to know where the email blasts have been over the years when Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi or Ed Schultz spewed their own Misogynistic vitriol against conservative women.

In the 2008 election Ed Schultz labeled conservative radio host Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.” He apologized as the cone of silence descended around him. He’s labeled conservative columnist Kirsten Powers a “bimbo.”

Keith Olbermann has described conservative columnist and radio and TV personality Michelle Malkin as a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick.” He had no problem saying conservative commentator S.E. Cupp “should have been aborted by her parents.”

Left-win author/journalist Matt Taibbi refers to Representative Michelle Bachman as “batshit crazy.” Disagreeing with him, 70 year-old novelist and feminist Erica Jong found herself labeled an “800-year old sex novelist.”

Chris Matthews, expressing his disdain for darling of the Democrats Hillary Clinton, frequently labeled her as “Nurse Ratched,” “Madame Defarge,” “witchy,” “anti-male,” and “uppity.”

Another darling of the left, Bill Maher who recently donated $1 Million to the Obama campaign, has labeled former Alaska Governor and VP candidate Sarah Palin as a “dumb twat” and a “cunt” on his TV show.

Perhaps to be expected and once again proving the double standard, two prominent female Democrats, Sheila Jackson Lee and Jan Schakowsky, both of whom have been outspoken and calling for Rush’s head, would not even comment on Maher’s Misogyny nor would they call on Barack Obama to return the donation.

Red more revelations of liberal’s Misogyny from Kirsten Powers at the Daily Beast.

Even with his own Misogyny exposed, the Alabama Democratic party has recruited Maher to host a fund raiser for Barack Obama.

Apparently calling women “dumb twats” and “cunts” is okay, just as long as it is a liberal Democrat doing it.

All of these examples above resulted in total silence from the lamestream media. Not an utterance of condemnation from Barack Obama, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz or anybody on the left. Most of you are probably unaware any of the above went out over the air since they weren’t “newsworthy.” Yet, these same people feign being so offended over Rush Limbaugh.

Don’t expect condemnation of Über liberal radio host Randi Rhodes for the following either.

No, condemnation from the media and Democrats is reserved for the right as they continue to call for “more civility” that they refuse to give.

  1. Lew, for years females have taken Rush’s abuse and we have not said a word……….act a fool and we all know what your are like.
There is a social movement to silence this man, let them be. Hope ya don’t mind if I share your comments?

  2. karmaht, the whole point is that others have said much worse with not a sound from the Democrats or media.

If Rush should be silenced, how do you not call for all of the others to be silenced as well?

  3. Lew, they all make their mothers proud! Don’t be surprise if more of them are selected by these groups to be silenced, they are getting tired of the female rights being taken by those that want to go back the the 1940s way of thinking. Why didn’t you report on some of the groups going after of the Komen folks? Women are tried of being second class citizens and male have no rights to tell us what we can do with our bodies. Ya know he pushed the wrong buttons this time.

  4. karmaht, I’m really kind of surprised that you have such an apathetic attitude towards all of the others who have doing for so long and receiving a pass.

How is that you can say “Don’t be surprise if more of them are selected by these groups to be silenced” and not calling for them to be silenced now along with Rush or have called for them to be silenced back when they demeaned women?

I agree women should not be treated as second class, but shouldn’t that apply to conservative women as well?

Please, tell us why Rush angers you, but Bill Maher calling a woman a “dumb twat” doesn’t.

  5. This isn’t hurting Limbaugh one bit. The shrill whining hypocrites on the Left might as well get used to that fact. Limbaugh is doing just fine and has all of the sponsors he needs and then some.

Pity the poor morons who pulled their advertising, they’re the ones that are “hurting”. In fact, several of them are begging Limbaugh to come back as advertisers.

Of course, now that the Leftist morons have identified themselves, there’s no reason to allow them back. Funny.

  6. Yes, indeed, many liberals have a double standard.

But many conservatives have a double standard as well. They make disparaging remarks about liberals, while railing against liberals who make disparaging remarks.

Like, um, you, Lew. In one breath you rail at Petri for calling Rush’s fans jerks. Then, in the very next breath, you call Petri a bitch.

Our Congresswoman is, according to you, the Ridgefield Barbie (or would be if she hadn’t moved to Camas). Justice Ginsburg is (according to you) senile, Ron Paul is a nut case, his followers are Paulbots, clowns, jerks and morons–and I haven’t even gotten to your liberal insults yet. Queers and libtards come to mind off the top of my head.

It’s a vicious cycle, kinda like the Hatfields and McCoys. Somebody has to be first to grow up, stand up, and renounce the name-calling.

    I will. Will you?

  7. I’m sorry “Cry”, there is no way you can compare Rush to Roseanne, no matter how hard you try.

  8. You need to reread it, Cry. I didn’t call Petri a Bitch, I said she spent too much time “getting in touch with her inner bitch,” the title of very liberal feminist book that linked to an article on the subject justifying snarky women.

Herrera Beutler being labeled “Ridgefield Barbie” is another blog.

And yes, I call Ron Paul a nutcase.

You seem to assign many comments left by others to me as well.

We conservatives have tried several times to scale back and each time we do, the left gets more vitriolic.

If you truly believe it’s time for it to stop, then may I suggest you begin with Democrat Party leaders and talk show hosts who are not being held accountable for their slurs against women?

  9. Jack, I have never tried to compare Rush and Roseanne, and probably never will. If you read an article before responding to it, your comments will be less likely to be out in left field.

Lew, I’m aware that Getting In Touch With Your Inner Bitch is a book. I’m also aware that saying that you didn’t actually call her a bitch, that you just said she spent too much time getting in touch with her inner bitch, is splitting hairs and avoiding the substance.

And you tell me that if I truly want it to stop, I should start with . . . somebody beside myself? That’s not how life works, Lew. You can only start with you, I can only start with me, and they can only start with them. None of us is responsible for someone else’s behavior; each of us is responsible for our own behavior.

As with the Hatfields and McCoys, if you persist in waiting for the other guy to stop first, both you and he will be destroyed in the process. If you do the right thing, it may or may not fix the whole problem. Most likely it won’t. But it will fix part of the problem–*and* . . . you will have done the right thing.

  10. Cry, saying that we are who it should start with, after several tries on our side and not one for the liberal side, is as silly as saying these liberals who have for years been demeaning women may someday be held accountable too.

Bush tried several times to be reasonable and peaceful towards Democrats. What good did it do him?

Maybe you can check out DailyKOS or DemocraticUnderground someday and see what real vitriol against others is. Perhaps we are fed up with being bashed over the head with liberal hate talk and told we better be nice.

What you complain about here is very mild in comparison.

  11. Lew, you’ve got kids. What you’re telling me is, “They’re doing it, too!” And, “They’re doing worse stuff than I am!” And maybe even “They started it!” Did you consider those acceptable excuses when your kids used them? You’re a parent. So you know the proper response, right? “If everyone else jumped off a cliff, would you?”

And you’re talking about liberals demeaning women when you have routinely called your congresswoman a Barbie? Yes, I’ve been to Democratic Underground and am a regular visitor at Daily Kos. So I realize it’s not as bad as what they’re doing. But it is sexist and demeaning, and it does cut the high moral ground right out from under your feet.

What good did being reasonable and peaceful do Bush? A purely pragmatic yardstick is the wrong yardstick, Lew. Sometimes (okay, always) you just need to have the ethical integrity to do the right thing, whether or not it benefits you.

  12. Cry, assigning Kelly Hinton’s words of “Ridgefield Barbie” from Clark County Politics does not help your argument any.

And again, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you.

It’s not going to work any longer. Say whatever you want, we’re fed up trying to be civil with those who do not know what the meaning of the word is.

You’re barking up the wrong tree.

Nice deflection on the 8 years and continuing vitriol thrown out from the left to Bush.

I guess he should have been “nicer,” huh?

If it is really “ethical integrity” you seek, I suggest the mirror.

    It’s not flying any more.

  13. I cannot tell a lie; it was my fevered brow that came up with both “Ridgefield Barbie” and, in the alternative, the “Camas Manikin.”

Unfortunately, Cry, to undercut your argument just a touch, those labels had nothing to do with Herrera’s gender. I also use what I call “tag names” with those of the male persuasion as well, equally earned by their ACTIONS, and not their gender. Just ask either Tim Leave-it or Steve Stuart… among others.

Fluke’s actions, as much a con as anything I’ve ever seen in politics, was based on a lie. Rush’s response, while over the top, doesn’t change the fact that the woman in question DID lie when she claimed a $3000 birth control bill that would practically guarantee this kind of response from someone.

The rank hypocrisy of the left is at issue here… not the rightness or wrongness of name calling. The institutional double standard of those who would pass judgement and their useful tools in the media who will do anything in their power to deflect attention from the Empty Suit’s moronic attack on the Catholic Church through his undoubtedly unconstitutional edit vis the issue of birth control is the thing, you see.

  14. Y’know, I don’t understand this whining about “civility”. Lefties are a bunch of the most smart-alecky, lying, conniving bastards I think I’ve ever seen.

Piss on “trying to get along”. I’ll just as soon kick their miserable asses because there is no “getting along” with Leftist S.O.B.’s.

Liberalism, Elitism, and Leftism are terminal diseases of the brain for which there is no cure except death. No room to “negotiate” with the sick bastards. Period.

  15. I apologize, Lew. Ridgefield Barbie is my mistake. I think I clicked at various times while reading your posts on links in them to Jaime Herrera Watch, and maybe Clark County Politics as well, and was left, down the road, with the impression that Kelly’s words were yours.

Kelly, yes, certainly the attack on the religious freedom of the Catholic Church is the main issue. Unfortunately, Rush chose, with his ugly words, to tank that discussion in favor of one regarding sexism and hate. That’s not the fault of the left. They’re not the ones who called Fluke a slut and suggested she post videos of herself having sex online. That’s Rush’s fault.

No, Rush’s response doesn’t change the fact that she lied. But, by the same token, the fact that she lied doesn’t change the fact that, as Rush said, he became like the Left, descended to their level.

Jack, I realize that you don’t understand civility. And nobody said anything about “trying to get along,” just about trying to be (Is it still okay to quote St. Paul here?) blameless and pure, above reproach in the midst of a crooked and depraved generation.

As far as ethical integrity goes, Lew, the mirror, of course, was exactly what I was touting earlier for each of us. We each can only be responsible for our own behavior.

I think we’ve established pretty clearly that we’re poles apart on this one, and are just going to have to agree to disagree.

  16. Rush’s 05 March transcript says what I’m saying better than I’ve said it. The whole thing is worth the read ( but here are a few excerpts:

“[The Left has] demonstrated over and over a willingness to say or do anything to advance their agenda. . . . But this is the mistake I made: In fighting them on this issue last week, I became like them.

“Against my own instincts, against my own knowledge, against everything I know to be right and wrong I descended to their level. . . .

“It’s important not to be like [the people we oppose], ever, particularly in fighting them. The old saw, you never descend to the level of your opponent or they win. . . .

“I acted too much like the leftists who despise me. I descended to their level, using names and exaggerations to describe Sandra Fluke. It’s what we have come to know and expect of them, but it’s way beneath me. And it’s way beneath you. It was wrong, and that’s why I’ve apologized, ’cause I succumbed. I descended to their level. Don’t be mad at them or mad at her. Everybody here was being true to their nature except me. I’m the one who had the falling on this, and for that I genuinely apologized for using those words to describe Ms. Fluke.”

  17. Cry, you continue to miss the point.

Rush can stand for himself and it is highly doubtful he will be taken off the air, he earns way too much money for the stations that carry him.

There has been a concerted effort for many years to silence communication in this country. The alphabet networks are all decidedly left, promoting the left’s agenda. Rush is a thorn in their side by countering their “news” and has drawn a large audience.

The very ones who turned a blind eye when Bill Maher referred to Sarah Palin as a “cunt” and “dumb twat” are now crying the blues over “slut,” even though the word has been used on air to describe women for years. Of course, it was conservative women who agree with much of what Rush says, so they are fair game to be demeaned and denigrated for their gender.

You said earlier, “Somebody has to be first to grow up, stand up, and renounce the name-calling.”

Isn’t it convenient that it just so happens to be who the liberal media tells you is a demonic person that brings it about after years of not only ignoring denigrating speech towards conservative women, but engaging in it themselves?

It is not going to improve at all by continually calling on only conservatives to lower the rancor, while sitting back and watching th left raise theirs and say nothing.

In all of your comments, you express rightful indignation against Rush, but have yet to express anything equal against others on the left who have demeaned women for years and continue to be given a pass for it.

And that is the point. You could care less how Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, Michelle Bachman or any woman who happens to be a conservative thinking woman is attacked, demeaned, denigrated or slandered. You see only a chance to silence a voice of conservatives by focusing only on Rush.

If it was sincere, you all would be condemning all of those on the left who demean conservative women as well.

  18. Rush really stepped into it all right. Fluke’s ridiculous remarks before the House Democratic Steering Commitee (NOT a Congressional Committee) was just a publicity stunt by the Democrats. Everyone knew that, and her “testimony” was being largely ignored until Limbaugh went postal on her.

I wasn’t aware of Maher’s remarks about Palin, but I’m not surprised they were ignored by the media and the Democrats. Only Republicans are prohibited from saying bad things about people.

Todd Palin must be a remarkably calm and patient. If Maher had said that about my wife, I’d put a bullet in the middle of his butt-ugly face.

  19. Craig, a blind man can see the hypocrisy in the left’s continual call for civility, ratcheting it down and other BS, while they ratchet it up.

Denigrating of conservative women by the left has been going on for years, from being called cunts to dumb twats, bimbo’s, boobs, whatever vile description they can come up with.

    Stone cold silence.

But when Rush acts like that, well, you see the response from those who laughed when it was conservative women being attacked and demeaned.

And still, the call is for conservatives to “tone it down.”

It is nothing more than another effort on their part to control the flow of information.

As for Rush, last I heard, some of the faithless sponsors are trying to come back and he is refusing to take them back.

Good going Liberals. Your efforts are backfiring and may end up putting more people out of work.

  20. Lew, I have selected to not listen to those that belittle women, Christians or any human, that isn’t what my God tells me is right… These female groups are going after folks one at a time and that is their choice not mine. One should pick their battles as they see fit or they end up bouncing their heads against the wall and spread themselves to thin. To me these shock jocks are bullies and if you enjoy that well what can one say? They make their mothers proud and teach the children the wrong message of hate. It’s just like the Columbian and their name calling, we dropped the paper in a heart beat. I just don’t have time for the simple minded folks! I scream but when it falls on deaf ears, well it make them look bad, we all know what kind of folks they are. I just love those that state do as I say not as I do. When my friends spout the Rush crap, I ask them what is their problem? What are they doing about it? Life is just to short to give him air time and I’m not going back to 1940s, giving up my rights that others have fought so hard to obtain. We should all be equal in this path that God created and put us on.

  21. karmaht, isn’t it odd that “these groups” chose to ignore the vitriol against women, when they are conservatives, and only get incensed when they have a conservative celebrity in the cross hairs?

My post is not defending Rush, he will stand or fall on his own. The post is about the disingenuous effort of “outrage” from those who spare on effort to demean and denigrate women that are conservative.

No one is preventing women from obtaining contraceptives, we are just balking at paying for other people’s choices.

And let’s be realistic, $3,000 a year for contraceptives? Planned Parenthood offer them for between $15 to $50 a month!

It was staged and Rush fell into it.

And apparently, so have many others.

  22. Something else to consider, karmaht. Since you don’t listen to those who demean women, I assume you don’t listen to any of these guys, not just Rush (I don’t listen to Rush either).

So, how is it that you know what Rush said and not the others?

Not putting you on the spot, but ask yourself why the liberal media couldn’t wait to broadcast Rush’s ridiculous comment, but can’t broadcast what the others say when they demean women?

You’re being played once again by the left who wants to control and limit what information you receive.

My point is not to excuse Rush, but to point out the hypocrisy and the effort from the left once again to control communication.

If they were really as angered by the words Rush used against a woman, wouldn’t they be just as angry over the other demeaning comments?

  23. Lew, I happen to *be* a conservative thinking woman! Please don’t be so quick to judge my motives and find me indifferent and insincere. You’re right: I *could* care less about how Palin, Malkin and others are treated–because I *do* care a great deal. For you, sexism is a theoretical discussion. For me, not so much.

I am not condemning the left in *this* venue because:

    a) I’ve already done that on my own blog in the link I gave you earlier:

    b) You’re doing it on this blog. I’m trying to provide the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey would say, not sing a duet.

  24. Oh, I understand “civility”, Cry. It’s something that vicious Leftist pukes whine about whilst they’re getting their miserable asses kicked.

People who can’t handle frank talk ought to stay under their beds and suck their thumbs.

  25. Lew, it’s just like any neighborhood’s issue. Until it pisses folks off to a certain point they won’t get involved. Then you have some that push their agendas and take over groups to make themselves look important even if it destroys the issues they push or the area they supposed live in and they don’t know the history.

  26. Well if the whole reason for having Fluke appear before their committee is that the Democrats figured on some Republican going postal on Fluke, their plan succeeded brilliantly – probably better than they’d hoped for. You’ve got give the liberal props for that. They have a genius for political trickery.

  27. Craig, she sets it right in the beginning of her “testimony” when she proclaims, “I’m also a past-president of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice…”

  28. However it’s backfiring on the Democrats, Craig. That’s the funny part.

  29. Reproductive justice?

Well yeah. That darned parasite is attacking the womb of the woman. Justice demands that the parasite be terminated.

that isn’t a direct quote from anyone, but I’ve seen language identical to it from naral, planned parenthood, etc. Pretty sick.

I hope you’re right Jack. I hope it costs them the Senate and a few more seats in the House.

  30. Guys, though I have no interest in discussing Rush, or what he said, or what the Democrats said, or what anyone said for that matter, the “reproductive justice” tagline got my attention! What political malarky.

So you know, my position is liberty based with science backing. A person’s liberty comes first, unless overridden by due process, and “due process” right now is Roe v. Wade. Science played into Roe v. Wade as the determining factor as to what a “fetus” is.

If either of those two things change than my opinion of abortion changes.

  31. >>Science played into Roe v. Wade as the determining factor as to what a “fetus” is.

Martin, I take it you’ve never read Roe. You really should. Mr. Justice Blackmun discusses, at some length, ancient attitudes, the Hippocratic Oath, the common law, English statutory law, American law, the position of the AMA, the position of the America Public Health Association and the position of the ABA, but there’s precious little science in the decision.

He does all this as part of his discussion of how to balance a woman’s supposed right to privacy in choosing to have an abortion (which he pretty much fabricates out of whole cloth and attaches to the 14th Amendment) with the State’s interest in protecting what he calls “potential” life.

His phrase “potential life” is enough to clue you into the fact that science is *not* a determining factor for him. (He doesn’t get into “what a fetus is.”) Biologically, it’s either alive . . . or it’s not. Living organisms grow, metabolize, respond to stimuli and reproduce. The fetus, and going further back, the embryo and the zygote, of course all meet that definition. “Potential life” is not a scientific way of considering the issue.

If your position is “liberty based with science backing,” you’re skating on really, really thin ice to be relying on Roe. (In fact, I’d say you’re paddling.) And letting the Court do your thinking for you is a really bad habit (Dred Scott, anyone?).

  32. The problem is that science is never: “set in concrete”. It’s not supposed to be. Science changes every day.

People who try to set laws based upon science may just as well try to set laws based upon the wind always blowing one particular way..

  33. Jack, that’s why I said I’d change my position if things changed – due process or science.

BTW, I’ve more than read Roe v. Wade, I’ve mock-debated it in court. It’s a finely nuanced opinion. The fact that it’s held up for decades is a tribute to its authors.

  34. Okay, my apologies, Martin. I said that because your comment, “Science played into Roe v. Wade as the determining factor as to what a ‘fetus’ is” doesn’t sound like the opinion I studied. (Neither does “finely nuanced opinion.”)

It took black men 94 years after the Declaration to be recognized as full citizens, and it took women of whatever color another 50 after that. Roe has held up for decades for the same reasons the denial of the humanity of black male persons and female persons did: prejudice, indifference, comfort with the status quo, etc.

  35. I’d say that the only reason Roe v. Wade has “held up” is because it “fit” the selfish wants of people despite not having any Constitutional basis.

Roe v. Wade is a classic example of “judicial activism”.

  36. Roe v. Wade may indeed go down. I’d certainly rejoice if there was no need for it.
