No Grand Jury In Trayvon Martin Shooting

by lewwaters

Sure to further enrage those falling for the media hype and selective use of the race card over the February shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, the Special Prosecutor appointed to investigate the case by Florida Governor Rick Scott today announced “There will be no grand jury in the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation.”

State Attorney Angela Corey said, “The decision should not be considered a factor in the final determination of the case,” adding “At this time, the investigation continues and there will be no further comment from this office.”

I take that as meaning she prefers actual evidence and facts over media hype and politically motivated racial discord that has been seen largely in play concerning this case.

Update: Apparently I spoke too soon concerning Ms. Corey’s objectivity in this. At the outset of her April 11, 2012 news conference to announce charging Zimmerman with Second Degree murder she says, “Just moments ago, we spoke by phone with Sabrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. It was less than 3 weeks ago that we told those sweet parents that we would get answers to all of their questions, no matter where our quest for the truth led us. And it is the search for justice for Trayvon that has brought us to this moment…” (emphasis added)

In the meantime, another case, nearly a mirror to this one is drawing no media attention or outrage from either the White House or race hucksters as we see the shooting death of a 29 year old mentally deficient White man at the hands of a younger Black man in Phoenix, Arizona over what appears to be a misunderstanding after the Black mans car almost hit the White man in a drive through of a Taco Bell restaurant.

  1. “Amazing”, isn’t it? Drudge is reporting that the Media is also using the “N”-word in live telecasts trying furiously to whip up a race war. That’s “amazing”, too. I guess the Media must figure that a race war is the only thing that will get Obama re-elected. That’s the only “explanation” I can come up with.

  2. Have you considered a declaration of Martial Law prior to the election, Jack?

  3. It looks like a possibility, Lew. I wouldn’t put anything past these bastards.

  4. Maybe that’s why gun & ammo sales are way up…

  5. The 2nd Amendment works both ways. You must be of the opinion that the odds are almost even and that Conservatives fight better… Could be? Either way, millions will die in a revolution by force. I suggest whichever side the government is on will be the one left standing at the end. (At least that’s how it happened in 1865.)

  6. A Revolution would be a great way to get rid of a lot of the American “stupids” that have polluted the gene pool, Martin. Mouthing off about “the Environment” and about “corporations” would signal the need for a well-deserved bullet. Ninny-nanny regulations, taxes, welfare checks, and government rip-offs would stop, and the Media wouldn’t have anyone to “manipulate”.

I think a bloody Revolution would “clear the air”.

  7. It’s time to calm the rhetoric. We need to stop identifying each other as the “enemy”. That leads to de-humanizing those we disagree with, and that leads to 6 million Jews being murdered, 50 million Russian Christians being murdered, and 60 or 70 million Chinese being murdered.

Leonard Pitts had a good column on this subject (although he couldn’t refrain himself from politicizing his own column by identifying only conservatives as the “bad examples” of intolerance).

It’s a stretch to go from Trayvon Martin to a race war to martial law before the election – a big stretch. That kind of rhetoric only invokes fear and desperation among those who would give it any credence.

  8. Craig, you’re like the frog put into a pot of cold water sitting on a fire, you don’t realize that the “heat” is slowly building.

Government is the “heat”. Government is severely out-of-control, and like a snowball rolling down hill it will only get rapidly worse.

It’s hardly a “stretch” to forsee a point in which this government becomes completely dictatorial and forces a Revolution amongst the citizenry. Perhaps you just don’t realize how close we are to one. Go find yourself a thermometer.

  9. Jack, that “frog in water” analogy is so worn it’s become a cliche. I too am concerned about governmental intrusion into our lives (the Affordable Health Care Act being the most outrageous example of that). What I’m suggesting is that it is counterproductive and alien to the American spirit to identify the other side as the ‘enemy’. We’ve worked through some pretty strong disagreements throughout our history and have resorted to war only once – and that war was instigated by those who identified the other side as the enemy. Hopefully the Civil War was the one and only time our nation will have to endure war between neighbors.

  10. It’s long past time to calm the rhetoric, Craig. In fact, it never should have been.

But, the modern day Bolsheviks have no intention of calming any rhetoric and are doing what they can to inflame as many as they can, while they demand we calm the rhetoric.

While it isn’t that ‘bloody’ yet, make no mistake, we are in the midst of a revolution to completely destroy America as we have known it and rebuild a failed system.

It’s been very gradual for decades, but is speeding up today.

A race war is what is being built now to launch the final destruction of the country.

All you need do is look back and history.

I’m not given to conspiracies, but more and more I see it unfolding.

  11. “I’m not given to conspiracies, but more and more I see it unfolding.”

…or it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy if rhetoric like yours becomes widespread. Come on Lew, who would be crazy enough to start a race war?

    1. Whites outnumber blacks by almost 6 to 1.
    2. Liberals have not succeeded in disarming Americans. In every instance I can think of, the general populace of countries that were victimized by extremists (for example, Russia, Germany, and China), had been disarmed – either through legislation or confiscation or because the general populace had never been armed. We are armed – to the teeth. They (potential instigators in and outside the government) would never succeed in their plans.

  12. The “frog in the pot of cold water” is just as true today as when it was first uttered, Craig. And although we’ve only had one Revolution and one Civil War, that doesn’t preclude more violence.

Anyone can easily see that the Left is trying as hard as they can to shove a shaft up everyone’s rear-end and hoping all the way that people won’t rise up until it’s “too late”, but I think we’re seeing signs that Americans are starting to fight back.

“Martial Law” would be one way to instantly defeat the Second Amendment and dis-arm America. Don’t think that there aren’t those considering it.

You need to remember, that while Conservatives will try to work within the system, the Left is totally suicidal and will not work within the system. The Left will pursue their “goals” no matter what the “cost” may be. Even if it resorts to violence. Look around you. Most violence comes from the Left.

Most of America is Conservative. Once you get the Conservatives pissed off, you will have a Revolution – guaranteed. And we’re getting real close to that.

  13. I’m not trying to minimize your concerns Jack, but as you rightly point out, conservatives try to work within the system. We have the most powerful document ever devised by man – the United States Constitution. Let’s work within that framework.

Now if one or more conservative supreme court justices mysteriously or unexpectedly dies in the next few months, I’ll become just as alarmed as you are.

  14. Seriously Lew? You post a video about some crackpot misanthropists as an argument? These people are as racist as any hard-core KKK member – they don’t represent anything but their own pathetic hatreds.

  15. Germany thought Hitler was just a crackpot with a few followers too, Craig.

Can you explain why we don’t know the name of the shooter of Daniel Adkins?

Or why Clark College has scheduled an April 12th “discussion” on “Trayvon Martin: Could it Happen Here?”

Why are those “crackpot misanthropists” to speak of being allowed to put out a “Wanted Dead or Alive” campaign on another citizen, with impunity?

Why were Black Panthers not prosecuted for intimidating voters when they stood outside a polling place with what looked like billy clubs in their hands?

Why didn’t the rape, torture and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom make headlines like Trayvon’s did?

And yes, you are right about Whites outnumbering Blacks, but if you think that will stop these “crackpot misanthropists” who are being allowed to spew their hatred freely, you are in for a rude awakening.

What you fail to realize, even if it came down to a battle between your “crackpot misanthropists,” the KKK, Neo-Nazi’s and other White Supremacist groups, every one else is in the cross fire.

Ask yourself why the lamestream media continues to misreport the Sanford, Florida situation. Do you really think they are that hungry for news?

  16. “Ask yourself why the lamestream media continues to misreport the Sanford, Florida situation. Do you really think they are that hungry for news?”

In a word, yes. They love sensationalism because it sells their product. There is no news in a few white people being killed, nor of an Iranian woman being killed (unless the killer is white). Those kinds of stories (where the victim is black and the perpetrator is white) always garner the most attention. Foolish black people fall into the trap of getting all worked up about stories like that, and foolish white people overreact to that reaction. The story then develops a bunch of side stories that the media can “report” on thus garnering even more readership/viewership of their product. There’s no down side to it for them.

  17. I will say that I am disappointed in the leadership of President Obama on this issue. His election was supposed to usher in the “Age of Aquarius” for race relations. His response has helped set things back 50 years…at least if feels that way right now.

  18. And how long do you think the hotheads are going to just get worked up and then go back to sleep, Craig?

Why do you think there is so much effort put into working them up, time and time again?

If all it is is sensationalism, why only sensationalize when the perpetrator is White? If all they want is sensationalism to sell papers, why not focus on the 13 year old White boy that was doused in gasoline and set on fire by Black youths who yelled “that’s what you get, White Boy.”

Go ahead and minimize it all you wish, Craig, just don’t yell out for any help when it finally does spill over in your direction.

Too many foolish White people turn a blind eye to the race hucksters and the leniency given Black on White crime today.

And like I keep saying, it all feeds right into the hands of the White Supremacists who are also itching for a fight.

Turning a blind eye to it won’t stop it.

  19. Well if I’m minimizing it, what is your solution? The comments I’ve read on this post would lead one to believe that a race war is inevitible.

  20. It’s only inevitable if enough people don’t wake up to it and join forces to stop it. And I mean both Blacks and Whites. Hispanics too.

One big thing we need is to get away from “multiculturalism.” All that amounts to is an excuse for more segregation by peoples.

Regardless of race, we need to recognize we are are all Americans first and stop letting these socialists who want us to collapse divide us.

Let the system work in Florida, if that is even possible now. Turn off the lamestream media, don’t buy their papers and vote the lousy people out of office.

Seek candidates who believe in American exceptionalism and let people rely more upon themselves.

Funny, Slavery ended a century an a half ago and civil rights has been the law for decades and we are further apart then we ever were.

Progressives, Marxists or whatever you want to call them, with their bleeding hearts and know better then you attitudes have almost destroyed us.

  21. Lew, the reason this didn’t go before a grand jury is because a grand jury very likely wouldn’t have charged Zimmerman. This way the prosecutor can charge him and at least put him through Hell in a trial. It’s a “veiled attempt” to appease the race-baiters.
