From a “Queer Mecca” to a “Queer Economy?”

by lewwaters

“Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.” Romans 1:24 New American Standard Bible

Dog Wedding 2It was just this past July 2012 that openly homosexual, megalomaniac 49th Legislative District Representative Jim Moeller, undoubtedly the single most arrogant member of the Washington State legislature attached the phrase “a thriving queer mecca” to the City of Vancouver in an invitation to a so-called “Gateway to Equality” event held in Esther Short Park next to City Hall.

The event was in large part to honor our state legislature ignoring a crippling budget deficit in order to ram homosexual marriage legislation through and show support for the coming vote of the people to approve such legislation, which passed due to 10 of the heavier populated counties overwhelming the other 29 counties that voted against it by margins as high as 40%.

Clark County, where Moeller’s district is wholly located rejected the measure by a smaller margin, but rejected it just the same.

Still, statewide it carried and homosexuals and the moronic editorial board at the Columbian are all a twitter, likely feeling that “thrill going up their leg” as did Chris Matthews.

The Columbian, which prefers to ignore the public’s pulse and instead try to manipulate it, even though their subscribership continues to decline, declares Washington State joining in with a few others in legalizing homosexual marriage as A Milestone for Equality with “Washington leading the way” and “a beacon for the rest of the nation… to be admired.”

Just where we’re being led to is left unanswered.

Like the previous states that approved homosexuals marrying, we are also now told of the coming economic boom, “Clark County same-sex couples’ weddings may add millions to local economy in next 3 years.”

We are led to believe that homosexuals from all over the country are going to flood our community just so they may be handed a piece of paper declaring their sham marriage after they pretend to get married.

Other states made the same predictions and even skewed studies to show it happened. New York claims to have seen a $259 Million increase, Mayor Michael Bloomberg claiming, “Marriage equality has made our city more open, inclusive and free, and it has also helped to create jobs and support our economy.”

Bloomberg also mentions a a $2.5 billion deficit for his city and possibly cutting as many as 6,000 teaching positions.

It is claimed that homosexual marriage “has brought $16 million in direct revenue, and considerably more in overall economic impact. A total of 235,000 hotel room nights were booked at an average daily room rate of $275,” yet we see the city of New York is still in deep financial trouble.

I find the claims of the great economic boom for New York City to be a bit specious as it would mean homosexual couples asking for a sham ceremony spend over $32,000 on average and that every ceremony accounted for bringing in an average of over 30 guests.

Of course, such high numbers are not predicted for Clark County. No we are told predictions of “an estimated $4.7 million and generate about $474,000 in state and local tax revenue” over the next three years.

It’s doubtful that will be enough to make up for the revenues lost as the city & state force smokers to stop buying tobacco when higher taxes and smoking bans were imposed to “change cultural behavior” as city council member Jeanne Harris stated.

The city also drove the Slocum House Theater Group out of their home by raising fees too high for them and now the building sits empty, costing the city even more to keep the property up.

We’ve seen business start-ups decline due to high impact fees imposed by the county and customers wanting to buy alcohol drive into Oregon to escape the high taxes added when citizens voted to privatize liquor in our state.

And those are but a few of the dozens of policies that have been placed in effect that have driven revenues down that the predicted $158,000 per year expected to be seen from homosexual marriage won’t even make a dent in.

But that doesn’t stop megalomaniacs like Jim Moeller from proclaiming, “Certainly the first priority was allowing people who love each other to be able to marry … but the business benefit was the second tier. It wasn’t something that came to the forefront. Now people are starting to wake up and say, ‘Wow, we really can make some money on this.’ ”

Left out of Moeller’s comment is businesses such as photographers, caterers and other venues of weddings will be forced to comply with homosexual ceremonies, denied their right to free religious thought if they might be of the majority of Clark County who reject homosexual marriage.

As seen in other areas, those known for holding strong religious views can expect to be targeted and set up by homosexual activists in order to file discrimination allegations against them and may even one day include clergy, who are for now protected under the new law.

But homosexuals have gotten their way and nothing else matters.

We see that also in the Columbian’s continual efforts to mislead the public about HIV/AIDs as they recently did with the article Local stories of survival, hardship shared at AIDS talk, homosexuality not being mentioned once throughout the article.

AIDs PrevelanceThis coincides with homosexuals efforts to remove the stigma attached to the easily prevented disease by falsely teaching or convincing the public that it is not a “primarily homosexual disease,” a notion shown false and misleading considering the Center for Disease Control states, “Gay and bisexual men remain the population most heavily affected by HIV in the United States.”

Medical research on AID’s continues to draw an inordinate amount of research dollars, bypassing what is spent on research for Heart Disease, Diabetes, Breast Cancer and many other diseases much more prevalent and affecting a much larger portion of our citizenry.

None of that is taken into consideration by the likes of Jim Moeller as he proclaims, “The opponents bet against the world changing – and they lost,” showing his elation after placing the homosexual agenda far above even the state’s economy.

Riding in on the coat tails of homosexual marriage is now a push for legalization of Polygamous marriage, surely soon to be followed by calls for other lifestyles today considered ‘deviant’ to also be granted legal status.

Moeller once said to me in an email discussion on “marriage equality,” “reasonable people see the need for those restrictions on age and incest and polygamy to name a couple,” and “Maybe plural marriages with be part of some new definition of marriage in the future (doubtful, but I’ve been wrong before :^)) but for me, that’s just a bridge too far.”

But doesn’t it stand to reason that if homosexual’s marrying is expected to bring such an economic boom to the area, opening marriage to all others will be an even bigger economic boom?

Or is it more like the effort to mislead people on the spread of AID’s, building a false narrative that it is not primarily a homosexual disease?

One doesn’t need to be a very devout or religious person to understand what was written in the book of Romans at 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

I guess that is one of those pages that Churches who are now embracing homosexuality and homosexual marriage and politicians who profess “God Bless America” and eagerly look forward to the coming “Queer Economy” feeding their coffers ripped out of their Bibles and threw into the trash can.

  1. I don’t know about a “queer economy” but Vancouver is definitely going to get an economic boost when Portlandiaers come over for the weed. It Vansterdam now, baby.

  2. Yes Martin, all of our troubles are over. Homosexuals will pull us out of the economic doldrums we have been in for so long just by having sham wedding ceremonies.

Just think, there will be enough money for everything imaginable, all due to 2% of the population flooding the community to marry.

Shouldn’t you be passing that joint around? 😉

  3. “The peak of tolerance is most readily achieved by those who are not burdened with convictions.” Alexander Chase

  4. The all encompassing tolerance of the left somehow leaves out White Heterosexual Christian Males and Jews.

And of course, Conservatives, male, female, Black, Hispanic or any ethnicity.

  5. Lew,

Glad to see you put the truth & facts out there for everyone to see!!! For those that think the Bible isn’t accurate and a book of fiction, there have been over 20,000 diggings in Israel trying to disprove the truth of scripture and everyone has proved the truth of the Bible!!! If people do not believe there was a Sodom & Gamorrah you can find it on the Internet along with sulfur balls that cover the ground, and as God stated not a blade of grass will ever grow there again is 100% accurate!!! For those that want to find the truth of the Bible it is there, you just need to take a little time to check it out. Life is about choices and many will
continue with the wrong choices and not open there eyes to the truth!!! Assured there will come a day they will know the truth that they have turned their back on or chose to ignore!!!

  6. What a sorry legacy: that, if true and allowed to go into effect, Clark County will only be known for getting people wasted and allowing people to marry their goats… which is, after all, Moeller’s next logical step.

    What a pathetic legacy.

  7. We will also be known as the county with the highest property taxes rate in the state, the highest utility rates in the state, and the lowest median household income in the state… oh, lest I forget… the highest unemployment as well. So we are now a poor over taxed “gay mecca” without the possibility of new jobs in the future… I don’t see a lot of happiness and warm fuzzies in that statistic set so I guess our house market will crash further as people move out for places with a little more common sense ( a little less toling might help them eh?) and decent cultural basis in their community. Oops! Did we just lose that profit and gain from gay marriages?

  8. Leviticus 20:13 “ A man who lays with another man should be stoned”.

Our interpretation has just been wrong for all these years!

I really wish I could find the post you did sometime last summer at the Columbian where you stated that if the the people voted to allow gay marriage, you’d accept it and move on.

Of course the “gay marriage boom” isn’t going to solve the finical woes of the city (or county and state for that matter). But it will bring in some tax revenue.

This line of thinking is exactly why Romney, nor any other conservative Christian Republican, won’t be elected president again.

    Again, fiscal conservative, moral liberal.

  9. Don, you remember it how you wish, not how I said it.

When I said I would stop opposing if it were put before the people, I made it clear it would have be a bill including complete equality for all, no exclusions except for legal age.

After all, that is the ultimate goal, so why not just do it and get it over with?

  10. Lew, you hang yourself from your own petard.

    Fiscal liberal, moral liberal.

  11. “and may even one day include clergy, who are for now protected under the new law.” I think you can take that to the bank.

  12. Queers will always be “Queer” no matter what.Queers will never be “normal”. period.
