Concerts for a Cause ~ The Cause is 4 Vets

by lewwaters

Vet Camas Dog Tag 4 Summer was a little late coming this year, but it is here and with it come our summer activities. Swimming, hiking, sprucing up our yards or what have you, we get outside, shake off the winter doldrums and enjoy the summer.

Along with our personal activities come community events where we choose to gather around a common theme, compare our labors or just enjoy some fine entertainment, often for a small admission price to fund a favored charity.

We in the Pacific Northwest are very fortunate as we have an abundance of extremely talented people who lend their talents to causes in benefit of others and put on some great shows. We also have some really great causes they choose to get behind and support.

Regular readers know of this blog’s strong support of the Clark County Veterans Court that assists deserving Veterans with readjusting from war footing back into civilian society by promoting events organized in support of the Veterans Court.

The Veterans Court is recognized as being highly effective and cost saving to taxpayers as the few in need receive help instead of cast aside to fend for themselves.

Tuesday, Aug 6, 2013 will see another great event in support of our Veterans Court to be held on the spacious grounds of the Camas Meadows Golf Course, 4105 NW Camas Meadows Dr, Camas, WA 98607.

Flexor T promo

Headlining this Concert will be the exciting Flexor T;

Flexor T is one of the most exciting show bands in the Pacific Northwest. Nominated for a 2012 Portland Music Award, from Country/Rock to Classic Rock, 80’s rock to 70’s & 80’s dance hits & more, Flexor T has a little of everything for everyone!

In addition to Flexor T, Three Together, featuring Grammy Award winning guitarist Doug Smith, will be the opening act when the doors open at 5:30 p.m. International Fiddler Champion Cynthia Hamm, accompanied by Don Mitchell, will follow as a special guest Performer.

Renowned Nashville Artist Tom Mann will be performing some of his original songs.

And, what Concert in support of our Veterans Court would be complete without a performance by Nationally Renowned Elvis Tribute Artist, Mark Stevenz?

In addition to such talented entertainers will be a collection of privately owned Show Cars from around the region that will be on display for your viewing at no additional charge, all included in the low $5 admission fee.

It is expected to see a fully restored 1957 Corvette owned by Vern Toedli, owner of Todd’s Auto Body that was selected to be shown on the 2013 National Snap-On Tools Calendar, a distinction reserved for only the best.

Founding presiding Judge of the Clark County Veterans Court, District Court Judge Darvin Zimmerman promises this to be the biggest and best event the Veterans Court Board has ever had. “This will be the longest concert of the 6 week series and include fabulous show cars as a bonus treat,” Judge Z said, adding “A truly a world class event in the most beautiful venue in the Northwest. And all of this for just a $5 admission.”

Tuesday, Aug. 6 is the date of our primary election in this off-year election and I hope you all make sure to turn in your ballots, either at one of the many drop boxes or mail by then. But, instead of sitting around the house waiting to hear reports whether or not your candidate won, come on out to Camas Meadows Golf Course, relax and enjoy yourself.

Walk through “the most beautiful venue in the Northwest” or just kick back and enjoy the performance of Flexor T and the other artists.

And best of all, you will be helping one of the worthiest causes of all, helping those few returning Veterans that experience trouble readjusting to get back on a positive, productive path.

Nowhere else can you be treated to such a world-class event for the low admission price of only $5.

Come on out, I’ll be looking for you.
