Stewart and Doan for City Council

by lewwaters

Vote 1Voters in Vancouver Washington have another opportunity to restore the city or just allow it to the slide into obscurity. You are facing another off-year election where a majority of voters don’t bother to vote, seeing no candidates for national office running.

Unfortunately, those that decline to vote this time hurt themselves more since these off year elections are when many local offices are filled with incumbents or replaced with new people.

The Mayor of Vancouver race has already been covered, but three seats on the city council are up this time and if you are fed up with being ignored, silenced or disrespected, this is an important election for you. You can change how the city has been going.

Tim Leavitt Takes to Threatening Citizens

by lewwaters

UPDATE: It never ceases to amaze me how the Lazy C is very selective in their outrage against certain people. While they have gone absolutely nutz over Sen. Don Benton threatening a lawsuit against Ed Barnes, for his week after week of unfounded claims of him being unqualified for the job he was legally appointed to by County Commissioners, Tim Leavitt’s threat below remains completely ignored.

As if lying through his teeth back in 2009 to get elected wasn’t bad enough, now we see Mayor Tim ‘The Liar’ Leavitt using the city provided email address he was issued to threaten a citizen that speaks out against him.

From: “Tim Leavitt” <Tim.Leavitt@cityofvancouver.us>

Again, what you’re saying below is inaccurate, and in fact if even feasible geometrically, would have significant negative impacts to our downtown.

Terrence, I’m going to offer you a courtesy “heads-up”. I hope you pay close attention. Your statement of “nothing personal” is humorous, at best.

Leavitt Whines, But Goes Sleaze Himself

by lewwaters

DSC00947aUnbelievable for anybody else, but not Tim ‘the Liar’ Leavitt, one of the dirtiest Mayor’s Vancouver has ever seen.

This blog recently showed where Leavitt is little more than a Whiny CRC Whore, crying the blues about being picked on and how he is constantly being attacked, boo hoo, boo hoo, boo hoo.

We showed this is much the same ‘victim card’ he used back in 2009 against Royce Pollard, Leavitt’s blatant lies now well known around town, except with the writers down at the Lazy C that seem to have forgotten how they blasted Leavitt back in 2009 and 2010.

Alishia Topper – Fearmongering

And she can’t even get it right.

Does Alishia Topper Really See Education as Just a “Weapon?”

by lewwaters

Alishia Topper 9New to politics and hoping to replace the main city council member who has consistently stood on the side of citizens over special interests, Alishia Topper continues to show a disconnect with the very community she wishes to elect her.

It has been previously shown that apparently, her memory of the horrific events of September 11, 2001 are gone or no longer matters to her, what with scheduling a party type rock n roll fundraiser for the day to compete with commemorations.

And she continues to not impress as now she posts a quote from known Communist, Nelson Mandela on education.

More Lazy C Chicanery Against Republicans

by lewwaters

Donkey kissing assAlthough the Lazy C frequently proves my blog posts right, after all, they can’t help being who and what they are, it isn’t often they run an article proving me right so quickly after being exposed.

Just this morning in the post The Stench of the Columbian addressing their continued hate fest with Sen. Don Benton, it was brought to the fore again of how they are very selective in their rants against Republicans versus Democrats and the flimsy excuses they use to justify not covering scandalous activities of Democrats.

In it, I presented copies of a Twitter exchange where Marisa Harshman and Amy Libby excused not covering a Democrat State Senator’s son arrested for rape as not newsworthy since he isn’t from Clark County.

Alishia Topper, Have You Forgotten?

by lewwaters

911 037September 11, 2001 was a day few people should be able to forget. Much like certain dates in the past, December 7, 1941 and November 22, 1963, it is a date that should be seared into our memories.

We on the West Coast woke up to the news those of you on the East Coast were already experiencing, the worst terrorist attack in the history of the world as a team of terrorists high jacked airliners and flew them into buildings occupied by people just arriving to begin an honest day’s work, murdering nearly 3,000 people, even exceeding the deaths we suffered on the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor that thrust the U.S. into World War Two.

By a unanimous vote, the House of Representatives passed Joint Resolution 71 and President Bush signed it into law Public Law 107-89, designating September 11 as Patriot Day.

Media Follow-up Is Always Appreciated

by lewwaters

Seen on KOIN 6 News:

It’s always nice to see the media follow-up on blog posts. KOIN reported this story on May 22, 2013 VA hospital worker’s criminal past was TV movie giving no credit to anyone else.

This blog reported on it on March 5, 2013 Deadly Intentions and Sociopathic Tendencies

The Sky Valley Chronicle referenced the story with full credit from my other blog on April 3, 2013 THE “DEADLY INTENTIONS” DOCTOR Where is he now?

That I can find, the local newspaper of record, the Columbian, has yet to discover it, even though it happened right under their noses.

Jeanne Harris Deserves Better From Democrats

by lewwaters
Jeanne Harris Official

Jeanne Harris

Maintaining a neutral stance in the Vancouver City Council Position 3 race between 4 term incumbent Jeanne Harris and challengers Frank Decker, Anne McEnerny-Ogle and Galina Burley, I can’t help but feel sad for how Jeanne Harris has been sold out by the Democrats she has faithfully supported for so long.

Yes, we know Jeanne created her own problems three years ago with the now famous incident, but let’s be honest here, if one of us were in the midst of a bitter divorce, might we not lash out towards someone, out of character as well?

That is not to make any excuses, just to remind ourselves of the words once spoken by a very wise man long ago, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Voters will decide whether or not the incident three years ago outweighs her many years of service on the city council, as they should.

Environuts Discussed “Violence” at Saturday’s “Peaceful” Protest

Environuts Assemble to Block Jobs in Vancouver

by lewwaters

Mia RebackAs seen in this video by Oregon conservative Dan Sandini, bleeding heart environuts traveled by fossil fueled bus and cars to launch kayaks manufactured in part from fossil fuels to protest using fossil fuels. The environuts are complaining about Clark County Washington hopefully pulling ourselves out of this deep unemployment we have been in for over four years by building a facility to export Montana’s crude oil.

The Lazy C supplied their own spin, but Sandini’s video speaks better. Protesters harassed Sandini and tried to stop him from taping their “public” event, but he succeeded.

Rapeller’s illegally rappelling from the bridge were scolded and asked not to do it again, receiving some serious finger wagging and tongue lashing I hope.

Standing Strong For the People, Not Special Interests

by lewwaters

June 2011, Vancouver City Council member Jeanne E Stewart was the lone Council Member standing up for citizens to have a vote on operations & maintenance of light rail, that we were eventually “permitted” in late 2012.

We need more elected officials standing with citizens, not those hand selected by downtown special interests to support their agenda over the citizens.

Where has homosexual activist Ty Stober or inexperienced, athletic Alisha Topper ever stood up for all Vancouver Citizens?

Election 2013: Vancouver City Council Pos. 1

by lewwaters

Vote 1Continuing in my assessment of Vancouver, Washington City Council candidates in the 2013 election, the final race is Position 1, currently held by Jack Burkman who is being challenged by Otto M. Guardado, Micheline Doan and Brian Joseph Smith.

For some reason unknown to me, the Position 1 race has not risen to the level of attention that has been directed at the other two seats being challenged, but is just as important on the 7-member city council.

Again, in no particular order of preference;

Election 2013, Vancouver City Council Pos. 2: “Why Are You Running?”

by lewwaters

Three candidates for Vancouver City Council Position 2 answer, “Why Are You Running?”

Of the three, Alisha Topper, Ty Stober and incumbent Jeanne E. Stewart, only Ms. Stewart expresses a desire to actually represent the people.

Code words of “end divisiveness” “work together” and such are indicative of what we do not wish for the city council, a lock-step attitude that places special interests promoted by the downtown mafia, Identity Clark County and hopes of breathing new life into the CRC light rail project we citizens have opposed for some time now and have been ignored.

Clearly, the Lazy C got it dead wrong when they wrote of Ms. Stewart’s “enthusiasm for the job on the wane.”

It’s your choice, Vancouver. So choose wisely.

Concerts for a Cause ~ The Cause is 4 Vets

by lewwaters

Vet Camas Dog Tag 4 Summer was a little late coming this year, but it is here and with it come our summer activities. Swimming, hiking, sprucing up our yards or what have you, we get outside, shake off the winter doldrums and enjoy the summer.

Along with our personal activities come community events where we choose to gather around a common theme, compare our labors or just enjoy some fine entertainment, often for a small admission price to fund a favored charity.

We in the Pacific Northwest are very fortunate as we have an abundance of extremely talented people who lend their talents to causes in benefit of others and put on some great shows. We also have some really great causes they choose to get behind and support.

Regular readers know of this blog’s strong support of the Clark County Veterans Court that assists deserving Veterans with readjusting from war footing back into civilian society by promoting events organized in support of the Veterans Court.

UPDATED: Why Politics Is Called A Blood Sport

by lewwaters

Brass KnucklesOnce again we see confirmation of the old Aneurin Bevan quote, “Politics is a Blood Sport” in the Vancouver City Council campaign for position 3, currently held by Jeanne Harris.

While it is clear that the Lazy C is going to throw their support wholly behind newcomer, Galina Burley, evidenced by their usual reporting more favorable over other candidates, including the other candidate endorsed in this primary, challenger Anne McEnerny Ogle.

Burley, along with the challengers in the position 2 position currently held by Jeanne E. Stewart are both heavily supported by downtown special interests, Identity Clark County members, Democrat Party members, all strong supporters of the Columbia River Crossing light rail project that by all appearances, they hope to soon resurrect.

Election 2013: Vancouver City Council Position 2

by lewwaters

Vote 1Continuing in an assessment of candidates vying for Vancouver, Washington City Council, Position 2 now merits a look.

Position 2 is currently held by Jeanne E. Stewart, undoubtedly the single most centrist person sitting on the council. She is being challenged by 2 political novices, Alisha Topper and Ty Stober, both relatively unknown.

Admittedly, neither of the candidates has reached out to me as did others I have blogged about, but I have talked with Ms. Stewart in the past. My views of her challengers are based upon their web sites and news articles.

Again, in no order of preference,

Election 2013: Vancouver City Council Position 3

by lewwaters

Vote 1It’s that time again, time to elect city council members for Vancouver and surrounding communities. All candidates have filed and are getting their campaigns geared up for the August primary in hopes of being one of the two chosen by the people to advance on to the general election in November.

Since I live outside the city limits, my ballot this year will be slim. I won’t get to vote for any of the city council positions so for the most part, I will remain neutral, but present my impression of the candidates seeking a return to office or hoping to replace someone.

Neutrality will not extend to the Vancouver Mayor’s race.

This initial post will concern the Vancouver City Council race for position 3, currently held by four term incumbent Jeanne Harris and those challenging her, Ann McEnerny-Ogle, Galina Burley, Frank Decker and Adam Fox. Order of listing is not by preference.
