Getting to Know John Blom

by lewwaters

Fed up, sick and tired of the divisive and heavy handed acts of David Madore on the County Council? Tired of seeing him trashing fellow council members and staff on his facebook “newspaper?” Then John Blom is a candidate well worth your time to listen to and support.

“CVTV footage, obtained pursuant to the Public Disclosure Act, in no way is intended by CVTV, the City of Vancouver, or Clark County to either promote or oppose any candidate for public office or any ballot proposition.”

Rep. Harris Responds to Bullying Tactic

by lewwaters

After receiving a threatening letter from Christian Berrigan, State Committeeman for the Clark County Washington Republican Party, of withholding support in any reelection bid if he attended the Republicans of Clark County event, Rep. Paul Harris (17th) responded while attending the ROCC Ronald Reagan Birthday Celebration Dinner on February 6, 2016 in Vancouver, Washington at the Heathman Lodge.

I can’t think it is anything but downright silly to try to bully candidates to not campaign before certain groups of people because you might not like that group. After all, that is what political candidates do.

“Think Before You Speak”

by lewwaters

This video was produced by a young lady named Kenzie Marcigan for her Senior Project and loaded to her facebook page with the request of “Shares would be awesome.” All rights belong with her and I hope she doesn’t mind that I am taking the liberty to share it off of facebook so others may view it.

Obama Toasting 2On this 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr’s famous I Have a Dream speech, it seems we are further away from that dream than we have been in my lifetime. Unlike he hoped for in that speech, a time when people “will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” skin color seems to be one of the first factors we leap to in judgment of each other.

For instance, the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida where George Zimmerman was instantly identified as a White person, based solely upon his name and the media joining forces with the likes of race baiters Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson in taking a local story and blowing it into an international outrage indicating a major racial problem, but ignoring Zimmerman’s true ethnicity, Hispanic of Black ancestry as well as the actual evidence in the case that exonerated Zimmerman.

Trayvon’s past was to be ignored while Zimmerman’s was picked over with a fine toothed comb as Trayvon ended up being portrayed as a poor innocent Black youth gunned down in the dead of night by an angry White person.

by lewwaters

Nice to see the young man out and about and apparently feeling better than he was in late March when he abruptly quit the office he had just been reelected to without explanation initially.

Vancouver 11 Year-Old Starts Anti-Bully Campaign

by lewwaters

Bullies have been around forever it seems. In every walk of life, age group and class, they exist. They seek out those smaller than them to power over them, driving some victims of their bullying to suicide all too often.

Alexis Miller, 11 year-old Wy East Middle School student is a talented young lady. She is a local actress and model, singer and aspiring songwriter. She is of slight build, intelligent and very attractive, all traits that bullies like to seek out in their victims to ridicule or belittle, and at times, beat up on.

Alexis is tired of being bullied. She’s been bullied since she was in kindergarten, at one point having to be pulled out of school and not being able to leave her apartment. She is ready to push back on the bullies, not fall prey to them any longer.
