It seems a small but vocal fringe element we have seen highjacking conservatism and the Republican Party are very upset. My guess is seeing Councilor David Madore kicked to the curb in the latest election is difficult for them to accept since he holds some mysterious messiah like position with them.
As with all miscreants, someone besides themselves must be to blame when things don’t go as they envision they should and they begin lashing out at whoever they feel is an easy target.
Ever since this blog exposed their efforts at PCO stacking two years ago, it has been one of the favored targets, they actually setting up what they think is an anonymous “Watch” blog site to critique and counter the efforts here.

This post was written a couple months ago out of frustration. I had intended to not post it, but given events of late against me once again, I feel it proper and in the best interest of the county to post and assist in David Madore’s exit from county government.
It is pretty well known that I lost what trust and respect I had for County Councilmember David Madore some time ago over some personal actions he took against me. Still, even with losing my support I did not jump into the rabid opposition of him seen almost daily on places like C3G2 or comments under negative articles, editorials and columns posted by the Lazy C.
An argument could even be made that I was posting and commenting in defense of his positions as the newly seated Council majority placed an urgency on undoing every last minute action he took and passed just prior to the new Council being seated, seeing their urgency causing more division with the people than we need.
It took me totally by surprise to open facebook on January 14, 2016 and find a message from him to Kelly Hinton that he made sure to copy to me directly, largely blasting me and seeming to place a large portion of blame on me for his losses in the last election as well as expressing some apparent inaccuracies pertaining to past incidents.

It seems our esteemed editor of the local Lazy C, ol Lefty Lou Brancaccio himself, hosted a Bocce Ball Tournament at his home recently that has drawn notice for the guests in attendance. Or, as Lou describes it, Bocce bedlam
And no, it isn’t those of us often critical of the paper and Liberal Democrats raising their eyebrow over it, but a prominent member of C3G2, Michele Wollert that senses a conflict of interest in an editor hosting those he is also expected to be critical of for fun and frivolity into his home.
On the C3G2 facebook page Michele asks;

Who knew that a Progressive Democrat like Sen Maralyn Chase (D 32) would get emotional bidding Sen Don Benton (R 17) farewell as the State Senate paid him tribute upon his coming retirement after being elected to the Senate 5 times now?
The Lazy C mentioned the comments in their article State Senate pays tribute to longtime legislator Benton, but the raw emotion of her words are not able to be discerned in it.

From the excitement and gleeful comments both under Lazy C articles and over on C3G2 concerning State Senator Don Benton’s announcement that he will not seek a 6th term, you might believe the man simply evaporated from the face of the earth, instead of just announcing not seeking another term.
Lefty Lou Brancaccio is predictably beside himself as he penned a special Press Talk editorial today, Monday February 1, 2016, the announcement coming out after his usual Saturday smearing of those “M&M Boys” or Benton.

In spite of often made claims such as “my good friend,” it is obvious that Lazy C editor, ol Lefty Lou Brancaccio is a hateful man when it comes to political adversaries such as his coined “M&M Boys” and even more so when it comes to State Senator Don Benton (R 17th).
As I have stated before, since the 2012 election where those “M&M Boys” were elected to the County Commission and Benton won a very narrow reelection over Democrat challenger Tim Probst, Lefty has penned 188 Press Talk editorials, 95 of which were negative in scope towards either the “M&M Boys” or Benton.
That does not include the multitude of articles and posts on the Lazy C’s own blog sites negative in nature against them.

Clark County saw its first full five member council mandated by the home rule charter to replace the three member county commission last evening and as I suspected, it has nothing to do with “Good Governance” or making anything in the county better.
No, it is as I predicted, all about slapping down councilors Madore and Mielke, both of whom are up for reelection later this year.
Shortly before Christmas, they rushed through eight resolutions that even the Lazy C all but admitted were meaningless, carrying no actual weight and as one commenter said, “a complete waste of time” to pass.

We are poised to embark on the next chapter of Clark County as the dust from the last election has settled and we move to a 5 person County Council and away from the long held 3 person County Commission.
As we know, the County Commission style of governance has be replaced after decades of functioning for the left because voters moved it right in 2012, shortly after seeing one Commissioner, Steve Stuart, throw a hissy fit and stomp off rather than accept he no longer called all of the shots.
From day one of the new Commission in 2012, the Lazy C, laughingly referred to as a “newspaper” locally, set their sights on ripping control away from the right and replacing power to the left.

It’s no secret that County Councilor David Madore is heavily despised by the left, evidenced by smears from the facebook group “Clark County Citizens for Good Governance” as well as the local newspaper of record and daily mouthpiece for the Democrat Party, the Columbian, better known here as the “Lazy C.”
And face it, some of that disdain is brought on by Madore’s own conduct, but even this bull in a china shop manner does not merit anywhere near the vitriol and abject hatred seen from both.
I always felt it strange that they labeled themselves with “Good Governance” as the one-sided view promoted there does not approach good governance, but more one-party rule.
Searching around a bit, I stumbled across an Australian site: WHAT IS GOOD GOVERNANCE?

Wednesday, November 4, 2015 is a day I eagerly look forward to getting here. Why? This latest foray into selecting of individuals for public office will be all done with, save for any close races or recounts.
Gone should be the vitriolic slurs seen all over.
Gone should be the sign vandalism and whiny candidates over it.
Gone should be the mud being thrown about by said candidates.
Sadly, what won’t be over will be editorials coming out of the Lazy C’s Lefty Lou Brancaccio smearing and demeaning those he disagrees with.

Jeanne E. Stewart
It has long been maintained that the facebook page, Clark County Citizens for Good Governance (C3G2) is not only a hate site, set up from the failed effort to recall County Commissioners Madore & Mielke after they hired Sen. Don Benton to head the Department of Environmental Services, but a bunch of liberal hypocrites as well.
While that description certainly does not apply to every single member, some joined primarily to lurk and some are more moderate than others, it certainly applies to some of the more active members posting there daily.
Nowhere was this attitude seen better than during last year’s elections in not only advocating for a change to our county charter, but in their support of former County Commissioner, Craig Pridemore to fill the seat abandoned earlier in the year by Democrat Steve Stuart over former Vancouver City Council member, Jeanne E. Stewart after she identified herself as a Republican.

As expected, ol Lefty Lou Brancaccio is beside himself in glee and gayety due to the outcome of the primary election this week, evidenced in his latest screed, “Power of the press vs. Madore.”
While I stopped supporting Madore some time ago, I stopped relying on the Lazy C for accurate or truthful information long before that, seeing that under the tutelage of ol Lefty it amounted to little more than a daily mouthpiece for the Democrat Party, unworthy to even wrap rotting fish in.
But, Lefty is beside himself, boasting and basking in his successful hate filled smears.
Even Liberals have complained about his weekly obsessive hate filled rants and face it, Madore never shrunk back from giving ol Lefty all of the material he wanted to use.

Amusing to see more wailing and gnashing of teeth from haters on the left with their intolerance of our Congressionally approved National Motto being displayed in the County Services Building.
Today it is evidence of leftist hypocrisy in a letter from a Carrie Parks: Bullying behavior disturbing where it is claimed,
“I was appalled by the amount of bullying that I, and others on the anti-motto side, experienced during the three hearings that were held at the county council.”
“People in our group were told we were going to be ‘judged,’ with the implication that we would go to hell. Several people were told to leave the country. One man shouted and swore at one of our women, calling her names. Another was called a ‘wackadoodle’.”

Once again we witness a group of Clark County citizens filing a lawsuit against C-Tran over their moving ahead with plans for Bus Rapid Transit after voters overwhelmingly voted down a funding measure for construction of BRT.
Two years ago this blog raised the question Voters Slap Down CRC & C-TRAN, But Will It Matter? and wrote of subsequent efforts by C-Tran to Bypass Voters on BRT and LRT to see them moving ahead with an approval of BRT this past April.
I was not included in the loop on this lawsuit, only receiving copies of the Summons and Complaint with no explanation or background on it. But it is obvious that a familiar group of names got together to seek an attorney to file it.

We read in the Oct. 2, 2014 Lazy C article Pridemore, Stewart differ on big issues;
“He [Craig Pridemore] called the charter an effort to make the county better. He said the county was a different place today than it was in 1889, when the president approved the state constitution, which spelled out the composition of county government.”
“[Jeanne] Stewart, a former Vancouver city councilwoman, disagreed, saying the home rule charter was an extreme reaction by some to the actions of Commissioners David Madore and Tom Mielke, both Republicans.”

This blog no longer supports David Madore and calls upon him to resign immediately!
As expected, CRC fanatics, still stinging from the defeat of their light rail extension being forced into Clark County against citizen will, are lining up to oppose the recently unveiled East County Bridge proposal given by Linda Figg of Figg Engineering.
One way they are forming their opposition is by linking the concept directly to County Commissioner David Madore, who seems only too happy to see his name and photo appearing in the pages of the papers again.
The Lazy C told us in their article on the presentation, “Firm pitches option for Madore’s idea of east county bridge over Columbia,” and that the idea is “Championed by Clark County Commissioner David Madore.”

In spite of their cries of being for every man, being caring and loving and other such bilge, We have seen the Democrats acting more like those Brown Shirts Brian Baird spoke of back in 2009 than anything else.
We see it daily in a small facebook group, “Clark County Citizens for Good Governance, (C3G2) that actually translates out to “Put Democrats back in control.”
Yes, they do not like how the 2012 County elections turned out and two conservatives became the majority on the County Commission and began changing the direction of the county, as asked by the wide majority that elected them.
