Democrat Asks to Campaign Inside Clark County Republican Party – Updated

by lewwaters

Peter Khalil facebook image

I don’t know whether to classify this one as a massive pair or of left leaning, Bernie Sanders supported candidate, Peter Khalil, hoping to replace incumbent 3rd Congressional District Republican, Jaime Herrera Beutler seeing the years of ongoing in-fighting and discord in the CCGOP as a possible inroad to gaining Republican votes.

Yes, I was somewhat surprised to see Khalil post an open letter on facebook to both the Clark County Republican Party and chair Earl Bowerman requesting he be allowed to speak before the next meeting and to “introduce himself as a candidate for Congress from the 3rd District of Washington.”

by lewwaters

With the announcement of seven-term Democrat, Jim Moeller not running for another term, the election takes an interesting turn in position 2, 49th Legislative District and as happens in other vacated seats, there is no shortage of hopefuls vying to succeed Moeller as he hopes to unseat 3rd Congressional District Representative, Jaime Herrera Beutler after abandoning his announced run for Lt. Governor.

SENATE

Annette Cleveland, Lewis Gerhardt, Vaughn Henderson, Justin Forsman

Even Democrats Not Safe From Jim Moeller’s “Garbage”

by lewwaters

I’ve already given a couple examples of Jim Moeller (D 49) own “garbage” he has expressed over time towards Republicans. But his “garbage” has not been reserved solely for the Republicans. Anybody that is not in lock-step with Moeller is subjected to such “garbage.”

For a refresher over this 2012 incident, please see Of “Self Inflicted Wounds” and “Fairly Horrible Experiences” and Why Was Jon Haugen ‘Sanctioned’ By the Democrats?

Jim Moeller’s “Garbage” Pt. 2

by lewwaters

Part two showing some of the “garbage” that has come from Rep Jim Moeller (D. 49) over the years, since he wrote under a Lazy C post,

“I can hardly believe some of the garbage that comes out of (so-called) Republican mouths. It’s time the moderates jettison the religious-right and Tea-Party factions within the Republican party and have them form their own.”

I can’t help but wonder why he campaigned against outgoing President Bush and International issues instead of what he planned to do as a state legislator.

Jim Moeller’s “Garbage” Pt. 1

by lewwaters

Very recently, Rep Jim Moeller (D. 49) wrote a comment under a Lazy C post,

“I can hardly believe some of the garbage that comes out of (so-called) Republican mouths. It’s time the moderates jettison the religious-right and Tea-Party factions within the Republican party and have them form their own.”

With that thought in mind, I looked back at some of Jim Moeller’s own speeches and will be periodically posting video excerpts of the “garbage” we have seen coming from him over the years. First part above.

Makes Sense

by lewwaters

If Sharon Wylie, Jim Moeller and Annette Cleveland all agree that only “some of the things they do makes sense,” does that mean they realize some of the other things they do make no sense at all?

Don’t you agree it is time we elected people that will work to do things that “make sense” all of the time?

Carolyn Crain For 49th Representative

by lewwaters

We need to elect Carolyn Crain to the 49th Legislative District. She has been involved deeply for years  and has spoken up on behalf of citizens, Veterans, the elderly and more numerous times, far more than any opponent has.

If anybody can defeat Jim ‘da Taxman’ Moeller, it is Carolyn Crain

Moeller’s Response to Climate Debate Challenge

by lewwaters

As most know, Vancouver City Council member Bill Turlay, a retired US Navy aircraft pilot, challenged Washington State Rep. Jim Moeller (D 49) to an open debate on the claims of man-made global warming, climate change when it is shown the earth has been cooling instead of warming up. Last evening Mr. Turlay told of the sort of response he received from Moeller,

I wonder what his next excuse will be to not accept the challenge, even though he claims he and his fellow Democrats “have science… and lots of it” to support their view?

Duh, Jim Moeller

by lewwaters

I have often thought Jim Moeller (D 49) might not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but this comment he left on his facebook page, January 23, 2014 is a mind boggler.

Megalomaniac Jim Moeller Fires A Shot Across Lou Brancaccio’s Bow

by lewwaters

The arrogance of 49th Legislative District Representative, Jim Moeller is well known amongst both supporters and opponents. In fact, he is about the most arrogant person I have ever met and I have met a lot of people over my years. His deeds and actions are classic examples of a Megalomaniac, someone “characterized by delusional fantasies of power, relevance, or omnipotence with an inflated sense of self-esteem and overestimation of their powers and beliefs.”

But his arrogant ‘shot across the bow’ aimed at the Columbian and editor Lou Brancaccio in Lou’s Saturday, October 27, 2012 Press Talk column, I love the 49th District!!! is so blatant it initially even took me by surprise.

Considering that the Columbian has endorsed Jim Moeller in every single one of his successful bids for state office, they frequently editorialize in opposition to his stance on many issues, mostly tax increases and wage and benefit increases for public union employees, while the private sector continues to struggle and tighten our belts.

Lou Brancaccio’s “War on Women”

by lewwaters

There is a reason pencils all come with erasers. We all make mistakes and get something wrong from time to time and responsible people will correct errors they make. None of us are above making errors and getting something wrong or even relaying something we thought we heard that actually was not what the other person said.

Newspapers especially have a commitment to the public to ‘get it right’ and often we see retractions or corrections published when they don’t. Let’s face it, reporters are only human and make mistakes and when such an error is pointed out, it is incumbent upon them to make such corrections.

Apparently not at the Columbian, though.

We all know the Columbian, the unofficial daily newsletter for the CRC & Democrat Party and their bias towards the left. But the email copied to me between Republican candidate for the 49th Legislative District, Carolyn Crain and Columbian editor Lou Brancaccio just boggles my mind.

While Constituents Struggle, Jim Moeller Frets Over Liz Pike’s Position on R-74

by lewwaters

It has long been known that Jim Moeller is pretty much a single issue representative, wanting first and foremost to promote what he refers to as “equality” for homosexuals. As we saw in the legislative session earlier this year, a $1.5 Billion budget gap took a back seat to ram-rodding a homosexual marriage bill through, wasting half of the session and causing the legislature to have to enter special session after Republicans and 3 Democrats stopped yet another Democrat inspired “kick the can down the road” hurry-up budget.

Continuing in that mindset, several times now Moeller has hounded Republican candidate for the 18th Legislative District, Liz Pike to state her position on Referendum 74, a measure to be voted on in November statewide to allow voters to say whether or not homosexuals in Washington State should marry.

Carolyn Crain: Your Voice, Your Advocate

by lewwaters

If you have ever been to a Vancouver City Council Meeting or Clark County Board of Commissioners meeting, you undoubtedly have seen Carolyn Crain speaking out against waste and policies many of us not only see, but know will be detrimental to our community. She’s shown herself to be a gutsy woman ready to stand for the struggling people of our community.

Tired of seeing how the voices of citizens in our community have not only been continually ignored, but seeing the citizens sued by unions and those previously elected to represent us, to overturn the clear mandate from citizens to the legislature that we want a 2/3 majority requirement for tax increase on us, Carolyn is stepping up to run for the legislature as 49th Legislative District Representative district 2 against Democrat Jim Moeller who has held the seat for a decade now.

Moeller, it must be remembered, is one of the legislators who quickly signed onto the union backed effort to have I-1053 declared unconstitutional, an effort to thwart the will of some 64% of voters across the state, 71% of Clark County citizens who voted to require the 2/3 supermajority for tax increases.

While current legislators claim to support our constitutional right to citizen initiatives, Carolyn Crain actually does. She says, “I think the people need to express their voice in order for those who are elected to serve them to really know what the people want. If limitations should be placed on any part of the process then it should be at the legislative level. If the people vote for something with an initiative then I think it should be honored.”

Can There Be A Bigger Hypocrite in Olympia than Jim Moeller?

by lewwaters

Jim Moeller was first elected as Washington State 49th Legislative District Representative in 2002 by a comfortable margin. He ran again, winning in what we could consider landslide margins in 2004, 2006 & 2008, but slipped in 2010, although still winning to be returned to Olympia. Prior he was twice elected to the Vancouver city council.

Ten years in the legislature and twice elected to city council before that seems to have Jim feeling pretty cocky, considering himself to be “the voice of the people” while discounting the people’s own voice.

Celebrating the recent Superior Court ruling against the people’s voicing yet again that we want a 2/3 majority vote for increasing taxes, we see Jim saying,

“this decision places the accountability for this fundamental civic responsibility squarely where it belongs: with the people’s voice — the Legislature.”

In justifying his turning against the overwhelming voice of the people, over 71% of us who voted for I-1053, the fourth time we have sent the legislature the message we want a 2/3 majority required to increase taxes on us, Jim Moeller also said,

“We are a constitutional republic based on the democratic principle of ‘one man, one vote’. The hardest thing for the right-wing to accept is that THEY DO NOT REPRESENT THE PEOPLE. Instead they exhibit the worst kind of arrogance towards the people – the disdain for those ELECTED by the people and sworn to uphold and protect the constitution – the ultimate voice of the people and the supreme law of the land.”

Lone Judge Invalidates “All political power is inherent in the people”

by lewwaters

Fringe Democrats, The League of Education Voters and the Washington Education Association have won the first round in the battle to overturn the clearly stated will of the people in Washington State by ruling today that I-1053, the fourth time the people of our state have voted in the 2/3 majority requirement for the legislature to increases taxes as “unconstitutional.”

Our state constitution, Article 1, Section 1 says, “All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights.”

Note, it says “ALL,” not some or only part, but “ALL political power is inherent in the people.”

The government receives power from us, not the other way around.

I-1053 passed easily statewide by a 64% vote. In our county, it passed by an even larger margin, slightly over 71%. Even a liberal newspaper as the Seattle Times editorialized, State’s two-thirds rule on taxes should be retained as did our own Columbian with, Two-thirds approval for tax increases is necessary for low-performing Legislature.

Clearly, the people spoke loud and clear on this desire in 1993, 1998, 2007 and 2010.

But, public unions and fringe Democrats like 49th legislative district rep. Jim Moeller, who readily joined the lawsuit to thwart the will of voters, both in the state and his district, have taken it upon themselves to give us the middle finger.
