Debt Limit Increase Met Herrera Beutler’s Three Criteria

by lewwaters

Jaime voted for increasing the debt limit, along with several other Democrats and Republicans, against the wishes of the Tea Party. She said it “wasn’t an easy vote for me.”

Okay, but it seems to me she voted for the other proposals Boehner put forth that also raised the debt limit.

Listening to her explanation above, I can understand the first two criteria she outlines. But, for the life of me, I don’t understand how raising the debt puts a down payment on our staggering debt or how overspending is addressed by more increased spending.

I have never been able to balance my checkbook like that.

If the Chinese can get it, why can’t our congress?

“The only way the Americans have come up with to improve economic growth has been to take on new loans to repay the old ones. To eat May’s grain in April, however, will never be a permanent solution to a problem,” the official Xinhua news agency said.

GOP Congresswoman: Clueless or Pandering?

by lewwaters

It’s no secret that I did not support Jaime Herrera Beutler for the seat she sits in currently. The above video is a prime reason why, beyond the nonsense thrown at me by her staff and the Clark County Republican Party because I had the audacity to actually support a Conservative Republican in last year’s election.

At her May 16, 2011 Town Hall, Jaime faced a crowd of angry Democrats fearing she will vote like a Republican. The above comment was the normal run of the mill leftwing tripe on ending tax breaks and subsidies for corporations, the job creators. Hearing this particular part of her reply, I can only ask, “Jaime, are you clueless or pandering to Democrats again?”

She specifically mentions ExxonMobil and GE as corporations not paying taxes. Leftists, Moveon.org and several others have been making that claim, based in large part to admitted Socialist Democrat Bernie Sanders from Vermont releasing his list of Top Ten Tax Avoiders, where it is claimed the companies posted large profit increases, and pay no taxes in the U.S.

A Light Shines Very Briefly in Olympia

by lewwaters

Moments of lucidity, however brief, are rare from our Democrat led state legislature in Olympia. We see them so rarely that once one happens, no matter how brief, it just amazes us. But, just as former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened,” we can rest assured those moments won’t last long.

In this case, an article originally appearing in The Spokesman-Review, As gasoline use drops, so does state revenue, leaves me nearly speechless that they didn’t know this would happen as they pushed for less driving and more dependence upon public transportation.

Who’s More Clueless, Oprah or Joe Biden?

by lewwaters

If we ever needed more proof of just how clueless the left in America is, these two noted individuals, TV personality Oprah Winfrey and career politician Joe Biden show us beyond any shadow of doubt that they remain completely detached from reality.

Oprah was interviewed recently by Parade magazine, mostly on her soon to be launched TV Network. After the usual gushing praise and ass-kissing, readers were treated to the following little exchange.

Can I ask about President Obama? Are you concerned, disappointed?
No. I think that no one understands until you’ve been in that seat the enormous pressure to please and satisfy everybody. And I think instead of being grateful for where we are and what he has done, we’ve forgotten that we were on the brink of a depression when he took over this office. And as everybody celebrates the holiday season and sits around with their families, regardless of your circumstance, we could’ve had breadlines. How soon we forget that.

Depression? Breadlines, Oprah?
