Mayor Leavitt, “Gutless & Spineless?”

by lewwaters

Leavitt 5The Lazy C was sure to boast of Mayor Tim ‘the Liar’ Leavitt boycotting the recent Keynote speech Lt. Gen. Boykin, cowering from complaints by pro-Muslim group CAIR.

It turns out that the event ended up selling out after Levitt’s cowardly boycott, joined in by fellow Vancouver City Council Members, Larry J. Smith (Colonel, ret, US Army Ranger) and Anne McEnerny Ogle. Video of the General’s speech can be seen here.

General Boykin, ever the gentleman and appreciative of Leavitt’s avoiding the speech and possibly distracting him, thanked him and CAIR both very publicly on his facebook page this evening.

Thoughts on Commissioner Stuart’s Cowardice

by lewwaters
Stuart Sneer 2

Steve Stuart

Reading comments left on County Commissioner Steve Stuart’s announcement of not seeking re-election, you would be led to think somebody real important had died. The Lazy C and supporters of Stuart’s sound more like they are eulogizing than thanking Stuart for his years sitting on the council, furthering their views, even if against the views of a majority in the county.

Stuart was first appointed to the County Commission to replace liberal Democrat Craig Pridemore, who had been elected as State Senator for the 49th legislative district. Stuart joined a Democrat majority on the three member commission along with Betty Sue Morris and Republican Marc Boldt.

His 2010 re-election would have it appear that he would be lone Democrat sitting on the commission as Republican Tom Mielke had won a narrow victory over Democrat Pam Brokaw in 2008 and Republican Marc Boldt had won re-election against Democrat & Vancouver City Council Member Jeanne Harris, but as we all saw, Boldt “moderated” his views and became more aligned with liberal Democrats in his votes with Stuart, leading to his being sanctioned by the local Republican Party and in 2012, slaughtered in his bid for re-election, losing to first time runner David Madore.

Jim Moeller Boasts About His Cowardice

by lewwaters

How should an elected official act when a constituent seeks answers to tough issues and questions? This is how Jim “sue your constituents to invalidate their votes” Moeller (D. Portland/Vancouver) acts, even though I have resided in the 49th legislative district since 1988.

Moeller, Blocked Lew

Shouldn’t a constituent be entitled to answers from elected officials?

The Cowardice of Jim Moeller

by lewwaters

coward 1Jim Moeller, 6 times elected Representative for Washington State 49th Legislative District can be accurately labeled many things. An open homosexual, bombastic, arrogant, sly, slick, effective (for a liberal), agenda driven and more. But the one thing I have never seen in Jim is cowardice, until now.

He does operating in the Legislature with a “my way or the highway” attitude and up until this latest session, pretty much got his way with fellow Democrats controlling both houses of the legislature and a Democrat in the Governor’s mansion.

Jim has never been known to shy away from confrontation, other than to ignore it when it suits him and he will just go about his business. So I was taken aback some when I discovered over a week ago that he placed a block on me for his facebook page, especially considering we had not ‘friended’ each other.

Not on either’s friends list, neither of us leaves a comment on the others page, so I was perplexed why he would block out a constituent, since I reside in the 49th Legislative District and have for over 25 years.

Does Herrera Beutler Endorse Marc Boldt or Not?

by lewwaters

It was just this past May when Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler raised a few eyebrows around her district over a comment she made and reported in the May 4, 2012 Columbian, the unofficial daily newsletter of the CRC and Democrat Party, that she intended to endorse both incumbent County Commissioners up for reelection, Republican Tom Mielke and alleged Republican Marc Boldt.

Considering that Commissioner Boldt has been sanctioned in November 2011 by the Clark County Republican Party for abandoning the party platform, turning his back on constituents who elected him and began siding with Democrat Steve Stuart, even to the point of saying “nothing would get done if he didn’t compromise with Stuart,” Herrera Beutler began catching flak, just as she predicted she would.

One such example was an open letter written to her by Carolyn Schultz-Rathbun with a copy posted on her blog, Cry Beloved Country.

Mayor Leavitt Declines Open and Transparent Discussion With CRC Skeptics

by lewwaters

Ask any conservative in Southwest Washington about the reliability of the newspaper of record in Clark County, the Columbian, when it comes to political coverage and you will likely be met with laughter. The blatant left lean of the paper has many of us dubbing it the unofficial daily newsletter of the Democrat Party.

Nowhere is this better seen than the papers continued promotion of the largest and most expensive boondoggle to ever hit Southwest Washington, the Columbia River Crossing being shoved down citizens’ throats to force acceptance of Portland, Oregon’s financially troubled light rail into our community.

In spite of 3 past votes in the county declining light rail, once directly in 1995 and twice indirectly in 2002 and 2004, it came out in a recent Oregon Supreme Court ruling that the sole reason for project is to force their light rail into our community along with the desire that Clark County residents pay for operations and maintenance of the new line all the way from Oregon’s Expo Center, across the state line and into our community.

In spite of costing so far nearly $150 Million in studies, several deficiencies continue to crop up that even though reported in the pages of the Columbian, are marginalized along with any who speak out questioning the validity of such an undertaking, skeptics often dubbed with such pejorative descriptions as “the Hounds of Whinerville” and “ankle biters” by Editorial Page Editor, John Laird.

Leavitt Bails on Scheduled Interview

by lewwaters

All week long Victoria Taft has been announcing a scheduled interview with Mayor Tim Leavitt of Portland’s Vancouver for 11:25 AM Thursday, May 12. The scheduled interview was accepted earlier this week.

When Eric, Victoria’s producer called Mayor Leavitt, he did not answer and after first saying they did not know where he was, Eric was told the scheduled interview had been cancelled. Wouldn’t it have nice of the Mayor’s office to inform KPAM 860’s Victoria Taft.

Why is Tim Leavitt afraid to face voters and answer questions on his many changes since lying to get into office?

Leavitt says, “I would urge this board to hold off on making those decisions until we better understand the climate and have the facts and details at our fingertips.” Concerning voting on light rail maintenance funding Leavitt said, “There are a lot of complex machinations that are happening. Locking us into a decision either way is way too premature.”

However, he seemed perfectly willing to be locked into a decision last year when he pulled his sleight of hand trick to combine voting for light rail maintenance funding in with a vote for C-Tran funding.

And now, he reneges on a scheduled appearance where citizens would have the ability to confront him outside of the confines of the Vancouver City Cartel? He sends notice of cancelling two minutes AFTER the time scheduled to be on?

Bad form, Mayor Leavitt, Very bad form.

In lieu of the actual Mayor, callers to Victoria Taft’s program chimed as if they were him.
