“We Is Our Own Enemy”

by lewwaters

Columbian, What StoryPerhaps unwittingly, but from time to time, ol’ Lefty Lou Brancaccio, erstwhile editor of the dying unofficial daily newsletter for the Democrat Party the Lazy C actually lets a little clarity slip from his fingers to his keyboard.

In his weekly ‘Press Talk’ screed of Saturday, January 18, 2014, Lefty does just that with “Our biggest problem is …” where he once again drones on about taxes, spending and public dissatisfaction with government.

I do have to credit him, though, for once he isn’t boring readers to tears promoting a stupid coffee cup or droning on endlessly about the 2012 elections where his people largely lost and the County Commission took a change in direction, as voters wanted.

How Long Has the Lazy C Ignored Illegal Lot Sales by the County?

by lewwaters

Dems, BlindersQuite a shocking revelation was posted on County Commissioner David Madore’s facebook page recently. It seems that the county has been auctioning off property to unsuspecting citizens that they cannot do anything with and end up stuck with.

For all of the excessive verbiage printed by the Lazy C against the so called “M&M Boys,” Commissioners Madore and Mielke now comprising the Republican majority of the 3-person commission, I find not one mention of this practice that apparently has been ongoing for several years in Clark County.

Where we are treated to frequent denunciations of the majority voters chose in the 2012 election as well as ridicule whenever Lefty Lou Brancaccio feels like it, they remain mum on the ongoing efforts by the majority to make much needed corrections where citizens have been getting hurt for so long.

Lazy C Launches Their Paywall

by lewwaters

An analogy of the Lazy C, Southwest Washington’s supposed newspaper, launching a paywall in order to read or comment to head off another financial failure.

It would be easier to just be objective, but that appears to be too difficult for them to understand as they continue chasing away prospective subscribers.

What Was Clark County’s Most Mis-Reported Story In 2011?

by lewwaters

As 2011 comes to a close, once again we see the Columbian posing the question to the public, “What was Clark County’s top story in 2011?”

Of course, the real effort is to give themselves a pat on the back. I can’t fault them for wanting to do that as few taxpayers in Clark County will.

But, there is another side of the coin that should also be explored, “What was Clark County’s most mis-reported story in 2011?”

Looking back over the year we have several to choose from. The continuing cover-up of Jim Jacks abruptly walking out on constituents mid-session amid rumors of sexual improprieties with female staffers and admitting to being an alcoholic, the excessive over-coverage of the dwindling Occupy Vancouver rallies, anything to do with their favorite boogieman, David Madore or their successful efforts at slapping Josephine Wentzel around.

Of course, there is also their misleading the public on Proposition 1 and C-Tran and trying to push us into yet another tax to pay for a brand new baseball stadium to benefit a millionaire team owner from Yakima.
