Why Can’t Tim Probst Be Honest?

As expected, the race in the 17th Legislative District Senate seat vacated by 5 term Republican Don Benton finishes with a razor thin margin between the two candidates vying for the seat, former Representative, Democrat Tim Probst and Representative, Republican Lynda Wilson.

In spite of that razor thin margin, listening to Probst you would believe he accomplished a landslide victory as the initial count had him ahead of Wilson by about 200 votes.

That slim initial count led him to post on his facebook page, “This week we saw unity and love for one another beat divisiveness and anger. We just saw the regular people beat the big money. Celebrate this!”

UPDATED: Do We Really Know Who We Are Electing?

PoliticianA situation presented itself to me earlier today on social media that now has me wondering whether or not we really know who we elect or what their real qualifications are.

In keeping with my pledge to neither support nor oppose any candidate in this election, I won’t be revealing just which candidate this occurred with or what race it is in, but it has been brought to my attention that it is common practice among several candidates and has been going on for years.

Needless to say, I disapprove.

Think Before You Vote

Although mentioning only the presidency, Politicians at all levels and from both major parties make monkey’s out of us when we don’t do our homework and elect better ones than we have had.

This song was released by singer, songwriter Tom T. Hall, a Democrat in June 1972, an election year where incumbent Republican Richard Nixon defeated Democrat challenger George McGovern in a landslide election, carrying 49 of the 50 states.

Within two years, Nixon became the only U.S. President ever forced to resign in disgrace.
