I won’t be posting on results this evening as I will be away from my computer most of the evening. But, links below are being provided where you can read the results of local and state races as they are released. Results should be released after 8 pm.

State and Congressional results: http://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/
However the elections go this evening, we better begin remembering we are all Americans and ignore the efforts of bitter division separating us. We will never agree on everything nor should we. But the bitter battles and “my way or the highway” mentality seen far too long needs to come to a screeching halt, if we are to survive.
Good luck to all.
It is widely known and acknowledged that during her entire 12 years on the Vancouver City Council, Ms. Stewart sided with citizens over special interests and was her own person, not following anybody’s lead or pressures from downtown special interests.
On the other hand we have Craig Pridemore jumping from office to office, consistently following party line and obediently obeying downtown special interests.
Here are the highlights of Pridemore’s career. Pridemore has voted for, or spoke in favor of (see attached files for details here and here):
This time four years ago, our local newspaper of record pulled out all of the stops in their effort to smear and denigrate then County Assessor candidate, Peter Van Nortwick. They spared little ink accusing him of engaging in “attack dog campaigning” which he masterfully turned around on them, walking through the Hazel Dell Parade of Bands blaring out the song, “Who Let The Dogs Out.”
Editor ‘Lefty’ Lou Brancaccio went after him over a past divorce accusing him of not being able to get along with others.
The Lazy C even tried tying him to then private citizen, now County Commissioner David Madore as well as the much hated State Senator from the 17th district, Republican Don Benton.
Their efforts failed and Peter Van Nortwick easily sailed to victory by a 5% margin, over 6,500 votes.
This blog no longer supports David Madore and calls upon him to resign immediately!
But, what the hell do I know, right R3publicans?
And, after the stinging non-endorsement of 18th Legisltive District Republican Liz Pike today, no surprise to see such a tacky comment left under the article by her challenger, Leftist Democrat Maureen ‘Bully’ Winingham;
Jeanne Stewart has a strong history of standing up for citizens against Special Interests. Her opponent, Craig Pridemore has a strong history of taking cheap shots.
Please vote for Jeanne Stewart, Clark County Commissioner. The Best Friend the County has.
Unlike Craig Pridemore, Jeanne E. Stewart respects your voice and your votes.
If you have any doubts about who will stand up for you and the rest of the citizens of Clark County, let this brief exchange put that to rest as both Jeanne E. Stewart and Craig Pridemore are asked about the citizen vote on Bus Rapid Transit in Clark County.
Jeanne E. Stewart has my vote and support as she will stand up for us and not downtown special interests. She honors our vote, Craig Pridemore does not.
I usually shy away from predicting the outcome of elections, but decided I’d throw my two cents in concerning the Clark County, Washington elections in November. It’s a bit early, yes and predictions are subject to change as information comes available. But this initial post will indicate how I see the outcome of the elections.
A disclaimer of sorts, these predictions are solely based on how I see the current information and read the current political tea leaves and are by no means infallible. They also may not be how I would personally like to see a race come out, but are how I view the reality of it.
First, apologies to the people in the 14th and 20th Legislative Districts. Your districts cross county lines and I simply do not have access to other counties at this time, so I am unable to predict how those races will go.
We have two candidates to choose from to replace outgoing County Sheriff, Garry Lucas. Shane Gardner and Chuck Atkins are those two candidates, Atkins clearly holding more actual experience in our Sheriff’s Department.
Although late in the primary, I did endorse and put my support behind Atkins, seeing that he was who held, in my estimation, the best all around experience to occupy that office and serve the citizens of Clark County.
I have no problems with Shane Gardner and think he is an excellent Deputy, but he continues showing he is just not ready to be the County Sheriff.
The 2014 Primary Election is behind us now and I have to tell you, it is embarrassing; no it is pathetic that this election saw such a dismal turnout in Clark County, the fourth lowest in the entire state.
Four years ago, 38.99% was the Primary election turnout and even that is ridiculously low. But, 28% is pathetic in a county that remains mired in economic uncertainty and under the shadow of a larger out of state city ready to impose their will upon us at any given moment.
What with so many of you always complaining about Portland calling the shots in our community, the only way to push them back is by voting in capable representatives at all levels willing to stand up to Portland and to remind them we are supposed to be partners in this so-called “metropolitan” region, not just a smaller community they can force their will on, sucking revenues away from and return nothing.
