Probst Draws PDC Complaint

by lewwaters

Tim Probst, stepping away from his 17th Legislative District Representative seat in an effort to unseat 4 time State Senator Don Benton has been showing his true nature this campaign, not taking a position on the single most important issue facing Clark County, distancing himself from mud slung on his behalf while not denouncing or disagreeing with it and making untrue claims about Senator Benton.

It now appears that boyish faced Democrat Tim Probst gets to add a Public Disclosure Commission to the list of un-qualifiers.

Most PDC complaints amount to little, but this one, filed due to his campaign acceptance of illegal contributions and condoning untruthful campaign claims may grow some teeth.

For some time now, Probst has tried to smear Senator Benton over his not yet signing the League of Women Voters Clean Campaign Pledge. Yet, as previously shown here, Probst does not adhere to the pledge he signed himself.

Vancouver to Celebrate Future Soldiers

by lewwaters

Every year, all across America, High Schools graduate a senior class. Young men & women beginning their lives and moving into adulthood. Some go on to college. Some move on to technical schools. Some enter the workforce right away.

Many are recognized for their scholastic or athletic abilities by receiving scholarships to further their education in universities and are celebrated in small banquets held by donor groups.

Some graduating seniors choose a different path, a path of sacrifice and service to our country, often under the harshest of conditions in faraway lands. They enlist in the Military, embarking on an adventure that will guide them through life, whether they make a career out of it or serve a single enlistment.

Those young men & women are being celebrated in some communities as well, as seen in the video from Times Square in 2008.

Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July

by lewwaters

I hope everyone enjoys our Independence Day celebrations in your community. But please, remember, stay safe so you can enjoy next years as well.

Alcohol and driving do not mix nor does Alcohol and fireworks. Be sure before you set any off that they are a safe distance away from your home and people, especially small children.

It only takes a split second for an accident that will forever alter your or someone else’s life to happen.

Please be respectful of others after the public ceremonies this evening. You may be feeling good after you get home from the ceremony and public display of fireworks, but do we really need to hear them still going off at midnight and at 1 A.M.?

Not everybody has Monday off from work.

Above all, remember why we even celebrate the day and let’s hold our freedoms and liberties our forefathers fought and died for in higher regard. They are precious and unprecedented and we should not allow any politician to threaten them “for the collective good.”

Have a safe and happy 4th.
