Government Transparency

by lewwaters

This blog no longer supports David Madore and calls upon him to resign immediately!

Madore 003In spite of the demeaning, denigrating  words read regularly in the pages of the Lazy C, Clark County Commissioner continues to provide changes at County Government that will make our county better and more productive.

Just this evening Commissioner Madore posted on his facebook page;

It’s live – our county checkbook is now online.

There is Only One Real Question in the Mayor’s Race

by lewwaters

Leavitt, DufusThe Leavitt campaign and his supporters at Forward Vancouver appear to be really sweating this campaign as the lies and smears just keep flowing in favor of sleazebag, Tim Leavitt, unable to stand on his record.

Leavitt blatantly lied his way into office in 2009 and now, to counter voters holding him accountable, it’s just lie after lie after lie.

That a stalwart citizen like Ed Lynch allows his name to even be associated with the group is unbelievable itself, but he has, leaving himself open to every sort of criticism coming his way.

Ignore the Smokescreen and Vote

by lewwaters

Vote 1Clark County Conservative would like to remind voters in Clark County to get those ballots in soon. There are only two days left before the election.

Although it is an off year election, this one is just as important as any we have ever had.

Vancouver will be selecting a new mayor and three city council seats as well as smaller cities around Clark County will be selecting their own city council members.

Voters will also be selecting 15 freeholders to begin a process that could lead to a restructuring of the county government.

Forward Vancouver, Trashy and Dishonest

by lewwaters

Leavitt 5As we have seen, downtown special interests desire to keep rubber stamp Tim Leavitt in office as mayor of Vancouver and retain full control over the C-Tran Board of Directors ramming Portland, Oregon’s financially failing light rail down our throats.

Leavitt, known for his dishonesty in seeking office in 2009, took to facebook when it was falsely alleged that philanthropist Ed Lynch was labeled “corrupt” by Vancouver Vitality saying, “No matter what your political views are, we can all agree that making personal attacks on such a fine citizen is reprehensible.”

But, Leavitt remains mum on those from his camp smearing and leveling false allegations against another “fine citizen,” County Commissioner David Madore.

The despicable acts of Forward Vancouver, a PAC set up solely to support the reelection of Tim ‘the Liar’ Leavitt has previously been covered here and here.

Shouldn’t Those Demanding “Put Up or Shut Up” be Willing to “Put Up?”

by lewwaters

“reasonable voters don’t see truth-telling as a sleazy maneuver at all” Columbian Editorial, October 11, 2009

Robber Baron Union BossThe above quote was in reference to now incumbent mayor Tim Leavitt allegations of supporters of his opponent exposing his lack of voting over the years, Leavitt calling it a “sleazy maneuver” to let the public know something truthful about him.

But in this election it would appear that the Columbian, better known here as the Lazy C, has flipped on that position and now is the one expressing that exposing candidates and supporters is sleazy. Candidates that support positions they favor, that is.

As shown in the post The Little Paper That Cries Wolf, there is a recently formed group of concerned citizens and business owners that has been making noise and apparently, in spite of making a couple errors in navigating the complicated world of political rules, this group of political novices seems to be worrying some supporting the special interests in our fair city.

The Little Paper That Cries Wolf (Updated)

by lewwaters

Wolf 2We all know the fable of the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf and how he liked to stir up people by warning them of a wolf stalking the sheep, ready to eat them up, knowing it was false. When one day a real wolf did appear and he cried warning people, nobody believed him and the sheep were scattered.

The moral of the story is that after many lies, false claims or in the case of our news media, biased reporting, even if they were to report something truthful, who would believe them?

We need look no further for a prime example of this than our own local newspaper of record, the Columbian, or Lazy C as I prefer to label them due to their lack of interest in reporting anything negative about Democrats while building mountains out of molehills to smear Republicans or conservatives and anybody not supportive of the Columbia River Crossing Light Rail project.
