Will Trump & Pelosi Destroy What’s Left of the U.S.?

by lewwaters

In the early 1970’s, Scottish rock band, Stealers Wheel released a song, Stuck in the Middle containing the lyrics, “Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, Stuck in the middle with you.”

Who would have ever guessed that those lyrics would today provide the perfect representation of the current state of affairs in the United States of America?

Yes, this ongoing political feud over securing our Southern Border between President Trump and recently reinstalled Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has brought about the longest government shutdown in our history with no end in sight and the left-leaning media fawning all over Pelosi, condemning Trump and crying the blues over how tough it is for furloughed Government Union workers.

Porous Borders, It’s Not “For the Children”

by lewwaters

Illegal Immigration 1For many years many of us have protested and complained about what is seen as “porous borders,” illegal aliens essentially waltzing across our Southern Border for Mexico and parts further south. As we raised alarms, bleeding hearts would shoot us down with claims of bigotry against Hispanics and just being cold-hearted to the plight of the poor people struggling to better their lives by illegally sneaking into our country or the escape violence and poverty in theirs.

Somewhere along the line it was changed from “Illegal Alien” to “Undocumented Workers.”

We were assured there was no problem and that allowing such porous borders only enhanced our economy and the people were better off here instead of striving to improve conditions wherever they originated from.

Obama’s SOTU or SNAFU?

by lewwaters

obama-mussolini-poseOnce again we find ourselves preparing to have our ears tickled by Barack Obama as he speaks before both houses of congress and the nation to give the annual ‘State of the Union’ speech where he undoubtedly will speak of how well the country is doing under his tutelage and how well off citizens are, whether we actually are or not.

He is expected to cover “his plans to create jobs, tackle gun violence, and pass comprehensive immigration reform” as Nancy Pelosi, unarguably one of the worst Speakers of the House in our history, famously known for stating “we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it” regarding Obama’s signature ‘Obamacare’ legislation, a direct contradiction of Obama’s campaign promise of a transparent government.

She also makes mention in this same email seeking support for Obama of this “ambitious agenda.”

Repeating the Mistake of 1986

by lewwaters

“Obama said the [immigration] overhaul must provide a ‘pathway to citizenship’ for the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S., and that if Congress does not act ‘in a timely fashion’ he will propose a bill ‘and insist that they vote on it right away’.” CNN Report, January 29, 2013

Illegal Immigrant 1Apparently feeling he is more of a King now than a public servant, Barack Obama is not directing what Congress ‘must’ do and at his ‘insistence.’ In this case, he is demanding a repeat of the failed effort to curtail illegal immigration tried back in 1986.

Rewarding illegal activity not only does not work, it actually draws more illegal activity, evidenced by the words spoken by New York Democratic Representative Charles Schumer from a June 1989 New York Times article 1986 AMNESTY LAW IS SEEN AS FAILING TO SLOW ALIEN TIDE.

If It Isn’t “Amnesty, Immunity Or A Path To Citizenship,” What Is It?

by lewwaters

June 15, 2012, not exactly a “day that will live in infamy,” but an ignominious day just the same as Barack Obama, apparently believing he is a King or Dictator and not an elected temporary leader, took upon himself to completely ignore the will of the American people and Congress by declaring certain illegal aliens under the age of 30 will no longer be deported.

That citizens have been opposed and congress has voted against such moves towards amnesty have been completely ignored as Obama stated,

“This is not amnesty. This is not immunity. This is not a path to citizenship. It’s not a permanent fix.”

It isn’t a “fix” at all and contrary to what he says, it is indeed amnesty and immunity. What else could it be but amnesty and immunity?

Democrats pulled this nonsense back in 1986 when Republican Ronald Reagan was president, blaming the failure on him and not accepting any responsibility themselves, even though they wrote it and passed it as Democrats held majorities in both the House and Senate.

Expected to lessen illegal immigration, it had the opposite effect as now others saw that our laws mean nothing and there would be no enforcement and eventually, if they waited it out, they too would be declared immune to our laws.

I Should Be Entitled to a Congressional Medal of Honor!

by lewwaters

The Congressional Medal of Honor is America’s highest award for bravery and few receive it, even less that is still alive. Currently, less than 100 Veterans who are recipients of the medal are still living. That’s less than 100 men out of approximately 24 Million Veterans.

I didn’t receive a Congressional Medal of Honor because I never performed any act of bravery that rose to the level of sacrifice that would merit one. But, why should that matter? I served a little over 8 years active duty in the U.S. Army, spent 18 months in Vietnam, was shot at, mortared, subjected to rocket attacks and sapper attacks, just like many others.

But, without performing that act of “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of my life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States,” I am not a recipient.

So, what makes me think I should receive one now?

“Latino’s Are More Fertile Than Non-Latino’s”

by lewwaters

Who knew, right?

Besides the obvious implication of racism in the title, before you jump on me for being racist, allow me to point out that the title is a quote from Charles Rynerson, a demographer at Portland State Population Research Center and used in an article published in the Columbian, County’s surge in children bucks local, national trends.

The article goes on to tell us that we have seen a, “13.7 percent upsurge in the number of children in Clark County in the past 10 years, the largest growth in the Portland metro area and a trend that goes against the national tide of stagnation.”

Democrats in Olympia Give Washington State Citizens the Finger… Again!

by lewwaters

Once again, ignoring all economic woes affecting the state, turning a blind eye to a 35% increase in Illegal Aliens in the state, while the rest of the country showed a slight decline or remained steady, a bill to block granting Illegal Aliens in the state a valid Washington drivers license was killed in the Senate in the waning seconds before the “cut-off” time, where no non-budget, Senate bill may be passed and referred on to the House.

With 5 minutes to go before that “cut-off,” Senator Mark Schoesler (R-Ritzville, Adams County) motioned for consideration of SB 5407, a bill “Concerning the issuance of drivers’ licenses, drivers’ instruction permits, juvenile agricultural driving permits, and identicards.”

Senator Schoesler was attempting to allow the Senate to vote on the bill that was blocked from the Senate calendar by the Democrat Speaker Lisa Brown (Spokane). His motion failed 23-25 with this bills primary sponsor, Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, (D-Camano Island) joining the ‘No’ votes.

Of that apparent ‘flip-flop,’ Haugen said,

“Nothing is ever dead in the Legislature. I’m going to go talk to the governor. I’d ask the governor that she needs to stand and take leadership in this role. She needs to recognize what’s happening in this nation.”

When was the last time governor Gregoire actually stood up for citizens in Washington State? If the Democrat Speaker refuses to recognize what is happening in the country, what makes her believe the Democrat governor will?

Tired of Illegal Immigration Yet?

by lewwaters

The Sunday February 27 Columbian included an article saying “Hispanic population rises quickly” 2010 Census figures reveal that number of Latinos in Clark County nearly doubled in past decade. Even though singling out Hispanics, nowhere is even an estimate given of how many are in the country openly in violation of our immigration laws nor is it pointed out that illegal aliens violating our immigration is not restricted to Hispanics.

The Seattle Times, on February 1 was more informative, letting us know, “Illegal-immigrant numbers in state jump 35% in 3 years” An estimated 230,000 illegal immigrants were living in Washington state last year — 35 percent more than three years earlier, according to a new report by the Pew Hispanic Center. The total represents one of every 20 workers in the state.

Unlike the Columbian article, the Seattle Times breaks it down saying, “While 57 percent are from Mexico, the illegal immigrants hail from across the world, including Canada.” The remaining 43% are just as much illegal aliens as are the 57% Mexicans. The call for border enforcement and adherence to our immigration laws is not about disliking Mexicans, racism against Hispanics or any other such tomfoolery people accuse others who call for immigration enforcement of.

35% Increase In Illegal Aliens in Washington State

by lewwaters

The Seattle Times reports: “An estimated 230,000 illegal immigrants were living in Washington state in 2010 — 35 percent more than three years earlier.”

That gives Washington State the seventh-highest rate of illegal immigrants in the country. 3 years ago, we didn’t place in the top ten!

Nationally, the numbers estimated of illegal aliens in the country remains virtually unchanged with a slight decrease, according to the Pew Research Center in Washington, D.C.

The director of the state’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs, Uriel Iñiguez says, “the fact that the illegal immigrant population nationally hasn’t declined shows people aren’t going anywhere,” adding “It’s one of the arguments I make all the time — passing laws won’t prevent people from being here undocumented.

Did Herrera-Beutler Drop Illegal Immigration as a Serious Issue?

by lewwaters

During the campaign for nomination to succeed retiring Brian Baird, I noted that all of the GOP challengers made statements on their position concerning Illegal Immigration. All except Jaime Herrera, that is.

Does Anyone Know Jaime Herrera’s Stand On Illegal Immigration?

As noted in the original post, some time AFTER writing that post, her campaign listed a vague position on Illegal Immigration, her campaign having been goaded into stating a position. But, vague or not, it was still a stated position.

As we all know, Jaime, now going by her husbands name, Herrera-Beutler, won her climb up the political ladder and has been sworn in, assuming her seat in the House. In due time, she got her official web site up and running for all of us constituents to be able to follow her and know her positions.

Herrera Receives Washington State Farm Bureau Endorsement

by lewwaters

Jaime Herrera, candidate for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District proudly proclaimed the endorsement of the Washington Farm Bureau today, as noted on her campaign web page.

Bob Stuhlmiller, Chair of the Washington State Farm Bureau PAC said, “She’s helped us address the critical issues family farms need to survive and thrive. Even when she’s back in DC, she’s shown us she’ll be voting with those on the farms back here in Washington State.”

In April 2009, WFB released an article wherein they state, “AFBF and WFB are working for immigration reform,” and “in order to meet harvesting needs, farms must employ foreign labor.”

Rob Valicoff of Valicoff Fruit in Wapato and a member of the Washington State Farm Bureau also says, “the two strongest solutions for immigration reform are 1) employers’ ability to verify employee status, and 2) a transition period for current illegal immigrants to work toward citizenship.”

Washington State Farm Bureau also encourages participation in ImmigrationWorksUSA WHY REFORM CAN’T WAIT! “one-day conference and strategic planning session for employers who rely on immigrant workers and grasp the urgent need for immigration reform” coming in August.

The August 11, 2009 issue of Evergreen Freedom Foundation’s Living Liberty contains an article, beginning on page14, by Dan Fazio of Washington State Farm Bureau titled “Lasting reforms involve more than just enforcement.”

In the article, Fazio claims, “Jobs are the magnet for illegal immigration, but employers are not border patrol agents. Employers want to hire the most qualified people,” and after basically stating how E-Verify does not work, proposes, “The only real way to guarantee that only legally documented workers are hired would be to establish a national database of all citizens and visa holders, as many countries have done. Workers would receive an identification card with a magnetic information strip, and employers could swipe the card and offer a job, or not.”

Fazio admits, “Such systems are not very popular with many Americans because of privacy concerns.”

On her web page, Herrera claims, “The Farm Bureau and I have promoted the same issues,… that offer a blueprint for the direction Congress needs to take to get us back on track.”

This is a well earned endorsement Herrera should be very proud of.

Gregoire Ignores High Unemployment While Promoting Illegal Aliens

by lewwaters

In yet another stunning example of the failure of the Gregoire regime in Washington State, we now read from the Seattle PI, Gregoire: Congress must address immigration reform.

It is well known that calls for “immigration reform” are little more than calls to extend some sort of amnesty to the millions of people who chose to violate the sanctity of our borders and ignore our laws by sneaking into the country by any means they can. Hence, the use of the often ignored, “ILLEGAL” Democrats and advocates removed as they speak of “Immigrants” or “Aliens.”

Gregoire, in what she dubs the “Feeding Washington tour,” stopped over in the Walla Walla and Yakima agricultural areas where she remarked,

“I’ve seen the need of our farmers. People don’t understand that farm work is not just for anybody. It takes skill, it takes training. For the good of our state, for the good of agriculture, I want to see Congress tackle immigration reform.”

Apparently, some farms in the region are feeling a pinch due to a crackdown by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on illegal aliens, one claiming they had to import “workers from Jamaica since then under a federal guest worker program.”

Of course, this is where we are usually told that this is work “Americans won’t do,” which in part is true, since tax dollars pay unemployed able-bodied people more to not perform such work. But, does it have to be that way? With high unemployment throughout the state and rambunctious teens out of school for the summer, labor must be imported?

If we have gotten this lazy, isn’t it about time to correct that?

Dan Fazio, labor specialist for the Washington state Farm Bureau says, “The guest worker program is expensive and the paperwork required is extensive, deterring many farmers from using it.”

So, we prefer they instead use people who entered the country illegally and now must work in the shadows and often for substandard wages in harsh conditions? Is that not justifying a secondary slave class, the very thing Democrats claim they oppose?

And, what if they were to receive amnesty? Would that not also be “expensive?”

Fazio adds,

“The agriculture industry has three choices, automate harvests to reduce the need for labor, push for a functional program to bring in workers from another country and offer citizenship after several years, or move labor-intensive farming out of the U.S. Americans need to decide if they want to produce fresh fruits and vegetables in the United States. And we can’t do it here unless we automate it or find a stable work force.”

Isn’t that attitude expressed the very elitism the left claims of those us on the right? Is that not claiming Americans are too good actually get their hands dirty and must use labor from other countries?

And again, with the rising unemployment, many falling off of the unemployment roles and summer breaks for teens and young adults, it seems to me that there is a ready work force sitting idle and being taught they don’t have to work.

And, why is our governor pushing such an elitist position instead of doing what is needed to put Washingtonians back to work?

It makes no sense to me to continue to pay people not to work while crying we have no workers and must import workers from other countries.

This is why I support candidates like David Castillo that believe we must use our own resources before relying on others.

We are told we are a “nation of immigrants.” While our ancestors did immigrate from other countries, they did so in accordance with the law and not all were immediately allowed in, some not at all.

We do not need “immigration reform,” we need “immigration enforcement.”

Once we have our own unemployment numbers drastically reduced, then we could consider a “guest worker program.” But, not until.

Governor Gregoire continues to show she does not place the best interests of Washington Citizens first as she advocates for lawbreakers. Pushing for such an amnesty for ILLEGAL Aliens while voting, taxpaying citizens sit idle and run out of unemployment benefits is irresponsible and contrary to the well-being of Washington Citizens.

We need to elect responsible representatives this November and begin breaking the stranglehold the elitist Democrats have over us all.

David Castillo, for the United States House of Representatives, Ann Rivers for the 18th Legislative District, Brian Peck and Paul Harris for the 2 seats in the 17th Legislative District, Craig Riley and Bill Cismar to replace the two tax happy Democrats currently occupying the seats in the 49th Legislative District are a good start.

We must get our borders and out of control illegal immigration under control if we are to ever come out of this severe recession we are in.

Governor Gregoire should either resign or be recalled. Democrats must lose control of the legislature.

They have been a disaster for Washington State!

Students Sent Home From School For Displaying American Flag

by lewwaters

Read more at Students Kicked Off Campus for Wearing American Flag Tees

Ask yourselves, why such a fuss over Cinco De Mayo in America, but it is largely ignored in Mexico? If Mexico largely ignores the day, why are students in America chastised for displaying American Flag memorbelia on the 5th of May?

For those who felt offended at American students wearing Red, White & Blue clothing and honoring the American Flag, if you think what Mexico offers is better, please exercise your freedom to cross the southern border, legally or illegally, your choice, and help them create the Mexican Paradise you think exists there.

As a Veteran who went to war under that flag, I served alongside Mexican-Americans, Cubans who barely spoke English, Blacks, White, Indians, whatever ethnicity exists in America. We did not fly any other flag and we all fought under the same flag, the American Flag.

How dare any of you cry “it’s disrespectful” to display any variant of the American Flag inside of America, just because it is the 5th of May and you think it is a day to honor in Mexico.

Enjoy the 5th of May and whatever created celebrations you desire on May 5, but do not decide America ceases to exist on that day.

If America offends you that much, maybe you are living in the wrong country.

Does Anyone Know Jaime Herrera’s Stand On Illegal Immigration?

by lewwaters

UDATED April 4, 2010

After posting my disappointment with the early endorsements, 5 months before our primaries, of candidates by Cowlitz and Pacific County GOP’s and hearing what strong grassroots support is behind such endorsements, it dawned on me that something seemed to be missing in the early endorsements of Jaime Herrera.

Realizing what was missing is as surprising as hearing party’s are writing off other candidates this far out from the election where voters will select who they want running.

I continue to hear that Herrera has “strong grassroots support,” which in itself surprises me as I have been unable to find any discernible position she has taken on dealing with Illegal Immigration, a major issue amongst nearly every grassroots group that I have spoken to on the right.

I am not saying she has no position, mind you. I’m sure she does and if Pacific and Cowlitz GOP’s are truly grassroots, as they both claim, surely they grilled all of the candidates on the issue of Illegal Immigration, especially since both counties’ unemployment currently exceeds 14%, Cowlitz nearing 15%.

Not knowing Jaime’s position on Illegal Immigration, I went to her campaign sight to see her position on her Issues page and was astonished to find absolutely nothing about Immigration, Illegal or otherwise.

Thinking this was surely an oversight, I googled Jaime and Illegal Immigration, e-verify, whatever I could think of related to a position taken, speech given or mention in an article that might indicate her position.

How is it a candidate receives such “strong grassroots support” and yet, a discernible position on dealing with Illegal Immigration cannot be easily found? Especially knowing that Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants has been an issue many politicians have expressed support for, angering grassroots groups.

I do know that the Public Unions Jaime voted for childcare centers to be forced into are pro-amnesty for Illegals. I’m not going to make the leap that they might influence her vote on amnesty too, though, should she end up in the House of Representatives.

Her opponent, David Castillo has made his position on Illegal Immigration clear and easily attainable for voters to find, as he has since he first entered the race long before Herrera.

After having this massive healthcare reform bill rahmmed down our throats and many thinking Amnesty for Illegals is looming before us to keep Democrats in power, voters are not only entitled to know, but must know our candidates position on such an important issue.

I invite any of those “strong grassroots supporters” who unanimously selected to endorse Herrera this far out to inform us of what exactly her position on dealing with Illegal Immigration is, as they must have heard her speak of during the interview when she was vetted by them.

Perhaps even her staffers will come up with a position on dealing with Illegal Immigration and place it on her Issues Page. If so, I hope it comes about sooner than the email explanation she promised me two months ago on her co-sponsorship and voting twice to force childcare centers into Public Unions, after they had declined the offer to join from the Unions and that I have yet to receive.

Anyone knowing of her position on dealing with Illegal Immigration, please post links to it for the rest of us, so we may do our own vetting of candidates.

A candidate’s position on dealing with Illegal Immigration is too important today to just be ignored.

UPDATE: Between the time this was posted and tonight, April 3, 2010, Herrera’s web site posted her stand on Immigration.

Russell Former Campaign Manager Caught Lying About Castillo

by lewwaters

UPDATE: Although I have not yet received verification that this person is no longer Jon Russell’s campaign manager and he still remains listed on Russell’s contact page, I trust the person who informed me that he is no longer part of the campaign.

With that in mind, I have corrected the post and extend my apologies to Jon Russell and his current campaign manager. I also would hope they publicly denounce such blatant lies.

I was shocked earlier today to visit the blogsite of Jon Russell’s former campaign manager and read his screed attacking Russell’s former opponent in the 3rd Congressional District race, David Castillo.

Shocked because of stooping to outright lies in order to blast former opponent Castillo, in order to bolster support for Herrera I imagine.

Russell dropped out of the 3rd C.D. race unexpectedly a few weeks ago and threw his support behind Jaime Herrera, surprising many as at the same time, he complained how her entry in the race had taken the wind out of his sails.

Admittedly, I am not a popular person with the Russell camp or with his former campaign manager due to my opposition to his running to replace retiring Brian Baird. While I will acknowledge opposing Russell over his inexperience and questionable conduct on the Washougal City Council, I have never made up lies to oppose him.

Lies are what Democrats depend on, not Republicans.

Gary Wiram, Russell’s former campaign manager, recently relocated to our community from Los Angeles, has had his own blog site at Red County, I believe since before leaving Los Angeles and definitely before signing on with Russell’s campaign.

He has recently begun setting himself up as the spokesperson for the “vetting of candidates” being undertaken by the grassroots group, We The People. I seriously doubt he is the official spokesperson, though, as I find them to be a very honest group interested only in getting the best candidates to represent us.

Maybe that is why I was a bit curious to see him post today, “We The People” Vetting Seems To Bring Out A “Latest Version” Of The David Castillo Campaign.

Anybody who has followed David Castillo knows he has been consistent.

Reading over the “report,” I was particularly troubled to find,

“In discussion regarding National Security, Border Security and Illegal Immigration; Castillo stated his support for E-Verify. I found this to be surprising because I’d never heard him espouse this approach before. I do know that this was a strong position taken by Jon Russell, a former rival of Castillo’s. Just for clarification, I later re-checked the Castillo campaign Website and found no mention of E-Verify,”

as this is a blatant lie.

In an email exchange with David last June, I asked him directly about illegal immigration. He replied,

“The first thing we must do is secure the border. The safety of the citizenry is the paramount duty of government; therefore securing the border is priority number one. Additionally, I would consider requiring that all businesses use the E-Verify system. It is free to them and is not labor intensive. There are a lot of good ideas with regard to how best to deal with the problem of illegal immigration and I am willing to listen. However, we should not take any concrete steps until we first secure the border.”

Wiram also claims that he rechecked David’s site and found no mention of e-verify.

Looking at David’s web site I found Immigration Reform.

If you will note, “Support the SAVE Act” is prominently shown. That is reference to H.R.4088 the “Secure America Through Verification and Enforcement” act. Under the official summary we find,

“(7) expansion of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism along the northern and southern borders. Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act and specified maritime law sections to revise alien smuggling provisions. Sets forth provisions respecting border security on certain federal lands under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of Agriculture or the Secretary of the Interior. Border Law Enforcement Act – Authorizes a border relief grant program for a tribal, state, or local law enforcement agency in a county within 25 miles of the southern border of the United States. Amends the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 to make the basic employment eligibility confirmation pilot program permanent. Sets forth conditions for the mandatory use of the E-verify system.”

Most amazing is that Wiram has the audacity to cry about “the Castillo campaign’s recent ill-conceived robocall attack on fellow-Republican Candidate, Jaime Herrera,” which even though upsetting to some recipients, contained verified and documented truths, then would fabricate and post a blatant lie about a “fellow Republican,” as I just showed above.

Wiram ends with, “You should give this candidate your scrutiny and arrive at your own conclusions.”

I think the real scrutiny should be towards candidate’s supporters who must rely on outright lies against a candidate they don’t support and obviously harbor a personal grudge against.

Herrera must publicly distance herself from such blatant dishonesty.

We The People must also distance themselves from a member using their name to further such dishonest claims.

I would hope Jon Russell would also denounce such blatant lies from one who managed his campaign.

We in the 3rd Congressional District and voters in the 18th Legislative District deserve better.

We deserve facts in selecting candidates, not blatant lies and sour grapes from candidate’s former campaign managers.

Mexican Ambassador Sees Little Chance Of Immigration Reform, E-Verify Filed For Washington State

by lewwaters

In a report from Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Fox6, we read that the Mexican Ambassador to the United States “expects immigration reform is unlikely to pass in that country in 2010 because of unemployment and midterm elections.”

The report continues, “Mexico will continue its quiet, ‘under the radar’ lobbying for a reform that would benefit the estimated 11.8 million Mexicans living in the United States. A large percentage are undocumented.”

Doesn’t the Ambassador mean “ILLEGAL?” Here in violation of our immigration laws?

I am left wondering why a country so rich in natural resources as Mexico is, expects the United States to care for their people in the United States ILLEGALLY instead of the Mexican government lobbying their own wealthy and their own government to better care for their people.

With America now trillions of dollars in debt to China, Saudi Arabia and other nations, unemployment at near Depression Era levels, deep in an economic slump with no end in sight and fighting off terrorism with little or no help, is it really the United State’s responsibility to care for people who violate our laws and take from our society more than they contribute?

The Democrat controlled Congress under Bill Clinton push through NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, to help curb Illegal Immigration?

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act into law. It was a bi-partisan bill that “made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants (immigrants who do not possess lawful work authorization), required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status, and granted amnesty to certain illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously and granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982.”

Neither act curbed ILLEGAL immigration and in fact, the numbers of lawbreakers crossing our borders ILLEGALLY has grown, not lessened.

The Ambassador goes on to claim that efforts at a similar approach to automatically legalize ILLEGAL immigrants “cannot be the solution because the radical conservative wing in the United States would immediately mobilize to torpedo it.”

Excuse me, Ambassador, but past efforts along those lines did nothing to help curb ILLEGAL immigration and left us with millions of new citizens loyal to Mexico, not the United States.

The Ambassador also neglects to mention that radical leftists and sympathizers of ILLEGAL immigrants have torpedoed nearly every effort put forth by those so-called “radical conservatives”.

Past efforts to help curb such lawbreakers obtaining benefits and taking jobs from citizens in Washington State have been met with angry outbursts and stiff opposition by activists and unscrupulous business owners who don’t mind casting American citizens aside for cheap labor and even sub-standard work, all to raise their profits.

Friday, January 8, 2010 saw another effort launched by as the group filed for a citizen initiative to be placed on the ballot that “will require E-verify enrollment by every public and private employer in Washington State.”

E-Verify is the no-fee, web-based employment eligibility verification tool hosted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services that will curb “stolen Social Security Numbers and ID theft being a ticket to employment and drivers licenses inside Washington State” and would also “require state and local governments to verify eligibility for public benefits and drivers licenses with the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements reference system.”

It would do nothing to “restrict emergency medical, food or shelter assistance regardless of legal status.”

The director of overseas citizen protection services for Mexico’s Foreign Relations Department, Daniel Hernandez Joseph says, “anti-immigration rhetoric has permeated in (U.S.) society and anti-immigration groups in the United States currently feel empowered.”

No Mr. Joseph, perhaps the real question should be why all of the leftists who cry about “nation building” feel it is up to the United States of America to properly care for ILLEGAL immigrants who are encouraged by their government to come here instead of their government taking steps, utilizing their abundance of natural resources and perhaps begin redistributing the wealth of their citizens to help their people, instead of expecting our over-burdened society to take on more.

Doesn’t it seem odd that those on the left who currently feel citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan should be left to their own troubles, expect our own over-taxed society to continue to “bail-out” Mexico, while the wealthy Mexican class laughs and enjoys their wealth?

Mr. Joseph also claims “estimates of 396 people assumed to be Mexican citizens died trying to cross into the United States last year, up from 340 in 2008.”

Perhaps they would still be alive if the Mexican Government were doing what they seem to be demanding American society to do for their citizens.

Soon you should expect to see signature gatherers around Clark County collecting signatures for the petitions to place this measure on the ballot.

We that support enforcement of our Immigration Laws do not do so out of cold-heartedness. We welcome with open arms immigrants from any country that follows our immigration laws and comes in legally. What we expect of the Mexican government is to end their corrupt reign and do for their people as they expect us to do.

Federal grand jury to investigate Arpaio for abuse of power

by lewwaters

Thursday, January 7, 2010, 9:41pm MST

A federal grand jury in Phoenix is looking at abuse of power allegations against the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

County Communications Director Cari Gerchick told the Phoenix Business Journal Thursday night that County Manager David Smith and County Budget Director Sandi Smith have met with federal prosecutors and will appear before a federal grand jury in Phoenix on Jan. 13.

Gerchick said the grand jury is looking at abuse of power charges against the MCSO and Arpaio. Sandra Raynor, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Phoenix declined comment.

“I have no comment as grand jury proceedings are secret and I can neither confirm or deny their existence,” Raynor said in an e-mail to the Business Journal.

MCSO spokesman Brian Lee said Arpaio declined to comment about the grand jury and would continue his duties as Sheriff as usual. Arpaio’s critics contend his office harasses and conducts investigations against those who oppose his immigration and other get-tough policies.

The Sheriff teamed with County Attorney Andrew Thomas to indict County Supervisors Mary Rose Wilcox and Don Stapley and has investigated other county officials.

The U.S. Justice Department has been conducting a civil rights investigation of the MCSO’s immigration and crime sweeps to see if they unfairly target Hispanics. The Sheiff has also repeatedly denied wrongdoing on that front.

The abuse of power investigation and grand jury is separate from that civil rights inquiry.

Unbelievable! Two thugs from the New Black Panthers can stand in the door way of a polling place, intimidating voters with their clubs, and the Obama administration sees no need to prosecute them.

Yet, let a duly elected law officer perform his duty in upholding the law and the Obama administration launches a federal Grand Jury Probe.

Democrats Mistreat “Undocumented Guests”

by lewwaters

As the entire world knows by now, Tareq and Michaele Salahi stand accused of “party crashing” at a White House Dinner late last month. Secret Service personnel have been under fire since the obtained unauthorized entry into the deepest ports of the affair that evening.

After having photos taken with Rahm Emanuel, a smiling Joe Biden and yes, even the head guy, Barack Obama himself, they excused themselves and exited prior to dinner as there was no place set for them at the massive tables.

How crass and crude of the White House to not set out two more settings for them as they are entitled to. Yes, entitled to. They have every right to stay and partake of the dinner and festivities once they managed to gain unauthorized entry, just as Democrats keep telling us ILLEGAL Immigrants, oh sorry, “undocumented workers” do once they surreptitiously slip across our borders in violation of our laws.

Once here, are we not encouraged to hand over full benefits, food stamps, rent subsidies and medical care to them?

Barack Obama even advocates some sort of amnesty
For ILLEGAL, oops sorry, there I go again, “undocumented workers,” so what is the problem with the Tareq and Michaele Salahi receiving full guest benefits once inside the White House?

Isn’t it probable they try out for reality TV Shows just to feed their family?

White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers has come under fire for them gaining access. If anything, she should be questioned as to why she didn’t have two places prepared for them at the dinner table.

In fact, the entire Democratic Party and Barack Obama should answer why we are supposed to accept and welcome those who circumvent our laws and sneak into the country without following established procedures.

This nonsense of the Salahi’s not having an invitation is meaningless, since neither to those who sneak across our border. They don’t need an invitation to be in the United States, so why must the Salahi’s, or any body for that matter, need an official invitation to attend a White House function?

They posed no danger and underwent more security than do those who sneak across the borders.

Republicans in Congress need to stop worrying about the how of their gaining access to the White House and instead focus on why they were mistreated by not being welcomed and sat at the table.

Fair is fair and if foreign nationals do not need an invitation to enter the United States and receive all the benefits of an American Citizen, why impose a different standard on “undocumented guests” at White House functions, now occupied by those very people who say we must welcome and accept those who sneak into the country?
