Lazy C and Democrats, Consistently Inconsistent

by lewwaters

ConfusedIf you haven’t been keeping up on the current ‘kerfuffle’s’ ongoing in politics locally, the Lazy C’s Greg Jayne reminds of them in his Sunday editorial, It’s hard to see the humor in strident political agendas.

While primarily pointing fingers at the current “write-in” effort in the county council chair race, Jayne does mention the recent matter between the Clark County Democrat Party and the Young Democrats of Clark County when they endorsed separate candidates, the party getting behind Democrat Mike Dalesandro and the Young Democrats endorsing Independent Marc Boldt who has previously ran and won elections as a Republican.

I’m particularly struck by that as I read over on the C3G2 facebook page from Roy Valo, “Yeah, in the Dems we came up with a logical compromise that both the CCDCC and the YDs were satisfied with because we sat down and discussed the issue like adults.”

They dealt with it like adults, huh?

More Lazy C Chicanery Against Republicans

by lewwaters

Donkey kissing assAlthough the Lazy C frequently proves my blog posts right, after all, they can’t help being who and what they are, it isn’t often they run an article proving me right so quickly after being exposed.

Just this morning in the post The Stench of the Columbian addressing their continued hate fest with Sen. Don Benton, it was brought to the fore again of how they are very selective in their rants against Republicans versus Democrats and the flimsy excuses they use to justify not covering scandalous activities of Democrats.

In it, I presented copies of a Twitter exchange where Marisa Harshman and Amy Libby excused not covering a Democrat State Senator’s son arrested for rape as not newsworthy since he isn’t from Clark County.

Jim Moeller Scoffs at the Idea of a Centrist Government

by lewwaters

Moeller, GoofAll expectations point to 17th Legislative District Senator Don Benton retaining his lead over challenger Tim Probst to keep his seat in the state senate. It’s been a very close and contentious campaign with Democrats throwing everything they could at Don to unseat him, including spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in bogus mud-slinging attack ads, painting Senator Benton as evil and uncaring as any human could possibly be.

In spite of coming very close to succeeding, Benton appears to be holding on to the win. Even though by a slim margin, a win is a win. Clark County Elections Supervisor Tim Likness states that even though the final results will not be certified until next week, it is not expected to change the outcome.

Although Senator Benton is labeled as one of the most partisan people in Olympia, his retaining the Senate seat is expected to finally bring about a more centrist oriented legislature with two moderate Democrats, Tim Sheldon and Rodney Tom indicating their desire to be more bipartisan and work more with Republicans that hard line Democrats in a “power-sharing” arrangement.
