Clean Up Your Own Mess, Lazy C

by lewwaters

Boris ColumbianThe Lazy C’s In Our View editorial for today, Jan. 22, 2016, “Clean Up Your Mess” addresses pollution being cleaned up in Hazel Dell, a problem discovered several years ago when chromium was found in our water.

Of course, in usual Lazy C fashion, they present it as how evil and irresponsible businesses are, even though if memory serves me, the company operated under regulations in place at the time, but new regulations passed put them in a violation.

I can’t help but feel this is just another of their more subliminal stabs against the proposed Oil Terminal that may be constructed at the Port of Vancouver.

Disputing Jayne’s “Indisputable Evidence”

by lewwaters

Egg on FaceThat the Lazy C despises Republicans is well known in these parts and is likely the only real “indisputable fact” in all of Southwest Washington. And let’s face it; the local Republican Party makes it very easy for them with their ineptness and underhanded shenanigans to cling to control of the county party over keeping people informed.

But, the Lazy C’s Greg Jayne, in finally admitting he is the Liberal we always believed him to be, should have done his homework before posting his latest Sunday editorial: “Republican Party abandoned its most worthy ideals,” where he pretty much seems to indicate anything worthy of them was only when they acted more Liberal than Democrats.

He laments how they deny Gorebull warming even though the Environmental Protection Agency was created by Republican Richard Nixon in 1970.

The Divide Widens

by lewwaters

Boxer WomenClark County saw its first full five member council mandated by the home rule charter to replace the three member county commission last evening and as I suspected, it has nothing to do with “Good Governance” or making anything in the county better.

No, it is as I predicted, all about slapping down councilors Madore and Mielke, both of whom are up for reelection later this year.

Shortly before Christmas, they rushed through eight resolutions that even the Lazy C all but admitted were meaningless, carrying no actual weight and as one commenter said, “a complete waste of time” to pass.

What We Really Need Is Good Paying Jobs

by lewwaters

Tenement 3Not too surprising to see the Lazy C editorializing in the Sunday edition, “Make Housing Affordable” with, “In order to thrive, our community must accommodate young families, newcomers.”

Wasn’t it years worth of pushing for more and more “affordable housing” that led to the mortgage bubble that burst and saw our economy tank?

How about instead of pushing for more government involvement in housing, government and envirowackos get out of the way and allow some good paying, family wage middle class jobs be created instead of pushing for taxpayer subsidized playgrounds for the wealthy like the concrete jungle planned for the waterfront?

Are Marc Boldt and C3G2 in For a Rude Awakening?

by lewwaters

Crying BabyWe are poised to embark on the next chapter of Clark County as the dust from the last election has settled and we move to a 5 person County Council and away from the long held 3 person County Commission.

As we know, the County Commission style of governance has be replaced after decades of functioning for the left because voters moved it right in 2012, shortly after seeing one Commissioner, Steve Stuart, throw a hissy fit and stomp off rather than accept he no longer called all of the shots.

From day one of the new Commission in 2012, the Lazy C, laughingly referred to as a “newspaper” locally, set their sights on ripping control away from the right and replacing power to the left.

Media Ignores Their Own “Cognitive Dissonance”

by lewwaters

Egg on FaceAn interesting editorial in the Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 edition of the Lazy C by Greg Jayne, Lazy C Opinion Editor: Dislike those in government? Then stop electing them.

He sets the tone within the very first paragraph, “The problem, apparently, is cognitive dissonance. Sure, we have concerns about terrorism and the economy and health care, but when it comes to this country’s inability to tackle problems, the real issue is our inability to think straight.”

Since Jayne bases this screed on “Cognitive Dissonance,” we should know just what that means before going on. The simplest definition I found was, “the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change.”

Will Lefty’s One Man ‘Putsch’ Backfire?

by lewwaters

Brancaccio GoebbelsI can only imagine the disappointment felt by Lazy C editor, ol Lefty Lou Brancaccio as a major terrorist attack in Paris France last week pushed his weekly rant against County Councilor David Madore back one week.

Sorry Lou, but there really are things more important than your personal vendetta.

Be that as it may, ol Lefty postponed his weekly rant, the 90th Press Talk editorial denigrating Madore to today to pile on a matter from nearly a month ago that had Lou and the rest down at the Lazy C all charged up on the eve of the Nov. 3 election, an email sent by Madore to County Manager Mark McCauley that left Mark feeling insecure in his position as one of the ‘reporters’ writing was seen throughout the day feeding rumors to a facebook group set up after hopes of a recall fell flat.

Good Governance and Rumor Central

by lewwaters

McKenna 3It’s no secret that County Councilor David Madore is heavily despised by the left, evidenced by smears from the facebook group “Clark County Citizens for Good Governance” as well as the local newspaper of record and daily mouthpiece for the Democrat Party, the Columbian, better known here as the “Lazy C.”

And face it, some of that disdain is brought on by Madore’s own conduct, but even this bull in a china shop manner does not merit anywhere near the vitriol and abject hatred seen from both.

I always felt it strange that they labeled themselves with “Good Governance” as the one-sided view promoted there does not approach good governance, but more one-party rule.

Searching around a bit, I stumbled across an Australian site: WHAT IS GOOD GOVERNANCE?

Will Marc Boldt “Heal Divisions,” or Widen Them?

by lewwaters

Boldt 3No doubt pleased to once again get out from behind the wheel of dump trucks, former Clark County Commissioner Marc Boldt succeeded in his bid to climb back on top on the now Clark County Council created in the 2014 voter approved Home Rule Charter that now sees a 5 member Council over the 3 member Commission that existed before.

As has been said many times now, the Charter was promoted and approved because certain elements in the county did not appreciate seeing the Democrat Rule defeated in the 2012 election as was outlined in the blog post Motive Matters followed by What Changed in Clark County? and Yes, motive for charter matters.

For whatever reason, charter opponents chose to ignore the motives and it passed by a 7 point margin, creating the 5 member Council Marc Boldt has been elected to chair, a new position created in the charter.

Lazy C in Hog Heaven

by lewwaters

Happy PigAlthough results will not be certified for several days, our local Democrat Party mouthpiece, the Lazy C (the Columbian) is elated to see their quest and hate of County Councilor, as well as tons of ink used since November 2012 bashing the duly elected County Commissioners they dislike has worked.

By all accord, controversial County Councilor David Madore was defeated as the Write-in Liz Pike campaign came in last in a three way race.

I did not support that campaign, not because of any problems I have with Madore or Liz Pike, I actually like and respect Liz, but because the campaign itself appeared more of like Sour Grapes since Madore failed in securing a spot in the primary to run for Council Chair.

So, Now They Love Jeanne Stewart?

by lewwaters
Jeanne E. Stewart

Jeanne E. Stewart

It has long been maintained that the facebook page, Clark County Citizens for Good Governance (C3G2) is not only a hate site, set up from the failed effort to recall County Commissioners Madore & Mielke after they hired Sen. Don Benton to head the Department of Environmental Services, but a bunch of liberal hypocrites as well.

While that description certainly does not apply to every single member, some joined primarily to lurk and some are more moderate than others, it certainly applies to some of the more active members posting there daily.

Nowhere was this attitude seen better than during last year’s elections in not only advocating for a change to our county charter, but in their support of former County Commissioner, Craig Pridemore to fill the seat abandoned earlier in the year by Democrat Steve Stuart over former Vancouver City Council member, Jeanne E. Stewart after she identified herself as a Republican.

Heal the County?

by lewwaters

Doctor FrankensteinIt is well known how Liberals rely primarily on emotions and highjack words to insert in narratives designed to mask their true intent.

We see it as they proclaim “diversity” yet refuse to accept conservatives or positions advocated by conservative thinking people.

It was seen the night in 2008 when Obama first won election and a sign was hastily posted outside the Democrat Victory party at the Hilton downtown that read, “The night America came together.” Never mind the previous 8 years of constant opposition and bashing of President Bush, demeaning him in every manner imaginable.

Of Alinsky, Bias and the Lazy C

by lewwaters

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.” Rules for Radicals; Saul Alinsky; Rule 11

Wooden NickelAs you know, I have opted to stay out of the election and campaigns this time around. Doing so and observing more from sidelines has revealed what I pretty much already knew and made it clearer than ever.

That being, of course, the so-called newspaper of record for Southwest Washington really is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party or the Special Interest Downtown Mafia.

Perhaps unwittingly, but they have now admitted it in a September 12, 2015 article on the 125th anniversary of the creation of the paper where they claim that is was founded in 1890 as “a weekly paper with a Democratic bent designed to counter the local Republican paper of the time.”

Lazy C and Democrats, Consistently Inconsistent

by lewwaters

ConfusedIf you haven’t been keeping up on the current ‘kerfuffle’s’ ongoing in politics locally, the Lazy C’s Greg Jayne reminds of them in his Sunday editorial, It’s hard to see the humor in strident political agendas.

While primarily pointing fingers at the current “write-in” effort in the county council chair race, Jayne does mention the recent matter between the Clark County Democrat Party and the Young Democrats of Clark County when they endorsed separate candidates, the party getting behind Democrat Mike Dalesandro and the Young Democrats endorsing Independent Marc Boldt who has previously ran and won elections as a Republican.

I’m particularly struck by that as I read over on the C3G2 facebook page from Roy Valo, “Yeah, in the Dems we came up with a logical compromise that both the CCDCC and the YDs were satisfied with because we sat down and discussed the issue like adults.”

They dealt with it like adults, huh?

Updated: Desperation in City Council Race?

by lewwaters

Yes, I vowed to neither support nor oppose any candidate in this election, but blatant lies by a candidate must not stand.

We all know how Mayor Tim ‘the liar’ Leavitt lied on opposing tolls should a new bridge be built back in 2009, only to quickly switch to strongly supporting them after winning against former Mayor Pollard.

We also know how the local alleged newspaper has demonized county councilor Madore, labeling those they lumped in with him, even though they were not part of any cabal as “the Madore Four.”

The campaign then and the efforts of the Lazy C, particularly from the editors would have made Joseph Goebbels proud.

Gillespie’s Smear Effort Falls Flat

by lewwaters

Disclaimer: The following should not be construed as in support of or in opposition to any campaign currently underway. It is merely a “setting the record straight” effort on my part.

Boris ColumbianWe recently saw a new junior reporter show up at the Lazy C, Katie Gillespie to replace or take over where über leftist Stephanie Rice left off.

In a brief exchange with Ms. Gillespie shortly after she was seen participating in the C3G2 hate site on facebook, she assured me of how “proud she is of her objectivity.”

Apparently she and I have all together different definitions of the word “objectivity.”

Power of the Press? Or Obsessive Hate?

by lewwaters

Brancaccio GoebbelsAs expected, ol Lefty Lou Brancaccio is beside himself in glee and gayety due to the outcome of the primary election this week, evidenced in his latest screed, “Power of the press vs. Madore.”

While I stopped supporting Madore some time ago, I stopped relying on the Lazy C for accurate or truthful information long before that, seeing that under the tutelage of ol Lefty it amounted to little more than a daily mouthpiece for the Democrat Party, unworthy to even wrap rotting fish in.

But, Lefty is beside himself, boasting and basking in his successful hate filled smears.

Even Liberals have complained about his weekly obsessive hate filled rants and face it, Madore never shrunk back from giving ol Lefty all of the material he wanted to use.

I Voted, Did You?

by lewwaters

I VotedYes, I broke down and actually marked my slim ballot and returned it this afternoon, as I usually do. I almost didn’t though, just can’t get enthused much over this election.

Being outside city limits as I am, I was left with County Council Chair, County Council District 2 and Port of Vancouver Commissioner.

Sadly, there are far too few viable candidates offered to excite me, even though each seat has multiple people vying for the seat.

By most accounts turnout appears to be very low this time, again. Even the Lazy C and haters at C3G2 are whining about seeing another low voter turnout, both ignoring their culpability in such low turnouts with their extremely biased claims and abject hatred expressed of others they disagree with.

Jeers to the Lazy C’s Claims on the War Between the States

by lewwaters

The Lazy C is hard at it again, doing their best to destroy “PRIVATE PROPERTY rights” and spew revisionist history.

Odd how their revisionist history stated in the screen capture from the Saturday July 11, 2015 Cheers & Jeers column is deemed so important when there are ample quotes from the era showing the opposite of their claim.

Blog Talk: Feel Free to Ignore

by lewwaters

Monkey, EmbarrassedIt is said that ignorance is bliss. And if there is any truth to be found in that line from Thomas Gray’s poem, nowhere could it be found better than right here in good old Clark County Washington.

As we know, ignorance is essentially a lack of knowledge on any given matter. It’s pretty much what would be found where objectivity is nonexistent and the pabulum of bias prevails as people become too lazy to seek accurate knowledge and place unwarranted trust in those they believe are the best to lead them for any variety of reasons.

Such thought was summed up by the father of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin when he claimed, “The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses.”
