Moveon.org Applauded For Burning Books and Blaming Tea Party

by lewwaters

In what can only be equated to Hitler’s Reichstag Fire in 1933, where Hitler had the German Parliament building set on fire and made to appear as if the Communist opposition party was responsible, Moveon.org is now boasting of an “Award-Winning” video produced to defeat Tea Party members over a tax increase they title “Book Burning Party.”

That is was actually Moveon.org and leftists who burned books seem to slip right passed many as the ends justify the means in their nothing is off limits attitudes.

That it is a total lie also slides right passed them, just as Hitler’s many antics early on slide right passed an unsuspecting German citizenry until it was too late to stop him.

Moveon.org To Train Occupiers

by lewwaters

If you still believe the Occupy “movement” was spontaneous, think again. It’s all orchestrated by those who have long sought to destroy America as we know it and rebuild a socialist society.

The following email I received from Moveon.org explains their goal along with asking for our money to do it.

As for their words of “nonviolence?”

Don’t you believe it.

Attacking Limbaugh, Liberals Ignore Years Of Their Own Misogyny

by lewwaters

FOUL LANGUAGE WARNING

Time and again, the sheer hypocrisy and double standards practiced by Liberal Democrats glares out at America, and goes largely ignored, especially by our very own liberally biased lamestream media.

No better example can exist than their cries of a “Misogynistic Right” and their actions of being “holier than thou” in condemnations of Rush Limbaugh or any other well known conservative they despise when they make a clear disparaging comment against a woman.

I won’t excuse Rush and agree that his use of the word “slut” was over the top and uncalled for. But, he did apologize on air.

That meant nothing to liberals who have for many years now wanted to silence the right, especially Rush Limbaugh.

March 6, 2012 saw an email blast from “Kristen at MomsRising.org,” a spin-off of far left leaning Moveon.org that begins, “That’s it. We need to rush Rush off the air,” and adds, “Rush’s misogynistic tirades are harmful. Our daughters see that when women speak up for women, they can be ridiculed, demeaned, and labeled ‘prostitutes.’ And what’s even more outrageous is that many of the commercial sponsors of Rush’s show are marketing directly to women.”

Just today, this same “Kristen” sent another email blast titled, “Tell Rush’s Corporate Sponsors to Use the Withdrawal Method.”

Have I Ever Been In Her Shoes?

by lewwaters

Far left Moveon.org asks, “Have you ever been in her shoes? Watch:”

I’m not a huge fan of Mitt Romney, so this is not in support of or an endorsement, but yes, as a matter of fact I have been in her shoes. After 20 years at a Chrysler dealer and at age 61, I found myself unemployed in an area with 15% unemployment when the White House helped compile of a list of 789 Chrysler dealers to have their franchises yanked, including some very profitable ones.

Should I feel pleased this young lady feels so good about saving her ass on the backs of taxpayers while hundreds of thousands of the rest of us were thrown out of work?

Maybe she needs to look at the real world.

Van Jones and the Contract For An American Socialist Nightmare

by lewwaters

As much as those on the left denigrate and demean conservatives on the right, it is most laughable that they seem to think imitating our ways can elevate them to power. This cannot be demonstrated any better than the latest move by former Obama Environmental Adviser Van Jones, forced to resign in disgrace due to past involvement with a known Marxist Group, the 911 Truther Movement and for publicly disparaging congressional Republicans, as he copies Republican Newt Gingrich’s 1994 Contract With America that propelled Republicans into power.

Jones, working with Moveon.org calls his A Contract for the American Dream, playing off of the 1994 Republican contract mentioned above. That’s where the similarities end. As US News’ Peter Roff puts it, “it fails to define the specifics of what a new Democratic majority would do if returned to power along with President Barack Obama, something the GOP’s Contract with America did clearly and succinctly.”

While the contract does not explain fully and clearly in specific terms, looking it over with a discerning eye reveal it to be yet another call for massive spending increases and expansion of government well beyond any America has ever endured to date. Contrary to its claim of for the American Dream, it is actually a contract for a socialist nightmare.

Moveon Rallies Against Bank of America in Hazel Dell

by lewwaters

Some of the same faces seen before were seen on both sides of Hwy 99 in Hazel Dell this afternoon protesting the local branch of Bank of America accusing them of Corporate Greed, killing the American Dream, paying no taxes, the whole spiel we continually hear from the left.

I went over there, leaving shortly before the “official” start time of 4 PM having seen nothing of interest and not acting like their compadres in Portland did last Friday, having no desire to interfere with their acting as silly as they wish.

The signs were standard fair, nothing new or original, other than the crack about Donald Trump in the video, which I actually like and laughed at myself. It’s original and actually funny and well, let’s face it, Trump is a joke anyway.

I give credit to the young lady who thanked me for serving in the Military. As is well known, I wear my Vietnam Veteran hat just about everywhere I go and today was the first time I’ve ever mingled in with the Moveon crowd that anyone ever expressed thanks. At every Tea Party I go to, I receive dozens of expressions of appreciation.

Moveon.org ‘Defend the Dream’ Rally, Vancouver, Part Two

by lewwaters

About 25 members of Moveon.org Vancouver showed for their “Defend the Dream” rally outside of the Vancouver, Washington office of Washington State 3rd Congressional District Representative, Jaime Herrera-Beutler to air their grievances, March 24, 2011.

Moveon’s ‘Defend the American Dream’ Rally Fizzles in the Rain

by lewwaters

The first ever event that I can recall held in Vancouver and sponsored by Moveon.org was held this evening at Fort Vancouver Way and Mill Plain Boulevard, in front of the Fort Vancouver Library at about 5:30. Given some of the vitriolic rallies in other areas of the country, I went down, camera in hand to witness how they acted.

I am very pleased to say that Vancouver did not display a violent or vitriolic outburst that has been seen in other areas. In fact, there really wasn’t much to see at all, other than the 35 or so people basically sign waving, some with homemade signs and some with more professionally made looking signs.

Although relatively peaceful, it seemed to lack any organization. People just seemed to appear from their cars, some wearing their “uniform of the day,” dirty looking work clothes with yellow safety vests and hard hats.

There were no speakers, no chanting of the commonly heard chants we’ve heard in other cities and not even a bullhorn. I also noticed the distinct lack of a single American Flag and since Tea Parties are accused of only being “White People,” not one single Black Person was present. Some moderate horn honking was noticed, but not as much as one would expect given the heavy traffic at that time of the day if they have the support claimed.

Moveon’s Spontaneity in Vancouver

Liberals Call For an End to the Rhetoric of Violence and Hate, But…

by lewwaters

The atrocity seen in Tucson, Arizona yesterday, January 8, 2011 is the talk of the media, just as we would expect it to be. In what we have come to expect, such tragic events inspire the political left to lash out at political opponents and Sunday’s talk shows are no different.

Barely mentioned are that 6 people, including 9 year-old Christine Green lay dead and a pro-second amendment Democrat fights for her life after being shot through the head by a young man identified by friends as a “liberal” who obviously suffers from some extreme mental derangement.

Without hesitation, we saw pundits begin assigning blame to Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, conservative talk radio and the Tea Party who stood up for our rights last year although there is absolutely no evidence of any connection between the accused shooter, 22 year-old Jared Loughner.

But, since when do activists allow facts to get in the way of their hateful agenda?

Administration Hopes To Boost Economy With Oil Sales

by lewwaters

Given the serious nature of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil well tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico and subsequent environmental damage happening as a result of it, I was taken aback this morning to read of how there are efforts underway to increase oil production to benefit the struggling economy.

I was especially curious as to why this effort is even being considered, given how often we hear in the media about how detrimental oil is and how we must get off it altogether and move to “green energy.”

We hear how the Obama administration is further banning oil drilling, plunging hundreds of thousands more people out of work here in America in the midst of one of the worst economic recessions since the Great Depression.

An administration official said in regards to the effort, “The oil here belongs to the people and the international community is doing its part to help ensure that every citizen benefits from its vast potential.”

He went on to say, “the United States and its international partners were looking to use the expertise of giants in the oil industry to generate growth in the oil sector.”

What strikes me most when hearing of this effort is also reading Lawmakers Plead With Obama to Ease Drilling Ban, Warn of Economic Blow, where we read that Obama is defending his moratorium on expansion of oil drilling “as necessary to give officials time to figure out what went wrong before the Deepwater Horizon rig.”

Obama says, “Until that happens, it would be irresponsible of me to lift that moratorium.”

But, from the article mentioned above, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill lets us know that “The international community is committed to propping up the Iraqi oil sector for the benefit of its people.”

No doubt the Iraqi people have been adversely affected with 7 years of war and ongoing sabotage of their oil industry. But, why is it that we help bolster their oil sector while issuing moratoriums on our own and increasing the misery of our own people with ever increasing unemployment?

Surely oil wells and pipe lines being sabotaged in Iraq present their own environmental impact as well.

The UPI article says, “Oil officials emerged from December oil auctions saying they could rival Saudi Arabia in terms of oil production.”

Couldn’t the American economy benefit as well from such increased oil production in areas known to contain vast amounts of oil as well?

We have massive reserves of oil sitting underground within America’s shores and it just sits there, drilling it banned by the very government that sees bolstering Iraq’s economy with increased oil production as acceptable.

Instead, we are treated to heart wrenching photos of an oil soaked bird and calls for Get Off Of Oil vigils from leftist groups.

If so called “green energy” is supposed to be such a boost to our economy, as claimed by environmentalists, shouldn’t it also be of benefit to the Iraqi’s?

The American Petroleum Institute has listed some of the estimates of the negative impact banning off shore drilling will have on Gulf communities, already struggling as much of the rest of the country is.

But, Obama and administration officials are adamant about maintaining the moratorium on drilling American oil.

Yet, at the same time “is committed to propping up the Iraqi oil sector for the benefit of its people.”

As we often heard on the 1950’s I Love Lucy comedy show, Obama “has some ‘splainin’ to do.”

What A Tangled Web Moveon.org Weaves, When They Practice To Deceive

by lewwaters

Some time ago, and I still don’t know how, I ended up on Moveon.org’s mailing list. Imagine, as far right-winged radical that many consider me, I receive Moveon.org’s deceitful emails on nearly a daily basis.

Long ago I decided not to remove my name from their list just so I could keep an eye on how easily the left deceives themselves and each other. The email I received today, September 15, 2009 came as no surprise then as I opened it and read the following,

“Dear MoveOn member,

Did you know that some insurance companies actually consider domestic violence a “pre-existing condition”? That is, women whose boyfriends or husbands have beaten them could actually be denied coverage for that reason. (1)

It’s sickening. And it’s just one more reason we need a public health insurance option-a health care plan that won’t put profits before basic human decency.

It’s not enough to pass new regulations. Like credit card companies and big banks, health insurance companies will always be looking to find a new loophole.

And while insurance companies rack up profits by denying coverage, their conservative friends in Congress are busy defending them from the competition they’d face from a public plan-and arguing we should give them another chance to clean up their act.”

While regular followers of Moveon.org just accept those claims as truth, never questioning a fellow liberal, I decided to look deeper since Moveon.org supplied links to just who supposedly made these ludicrous claims.

Note ‘1’ is to “Domestic violence is a ‘pre-existing condition’?,” SEIU Blog, September 11, 2009 http://www.moveon.org/r?r=84439&id=17236-9296068-WXTENyx&t=5

Being the good little radical right-winged “ginned-up” brown-shirted mobster I have been often referred to, I got myself all “wee wee’d” up and clicked the link, which took me to the SEIU blogsite and a post supplied by a Maria Tchijov, where I discovered,

“Insurance companies have used the excuse of “pre-existing conditions” to deny coverage to countless Americans. From cancer patients to the elderly suffering from arthritis, these organizations have padded their profit margins by limiting coverage to patients deemed “high risk” because of their medical condition.

But, in DC and eight other states, including Idaho, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming, insurance companies have gone too far, claiming that “domestic violence victim” is also a pre-existing condition.

The link supplied in the second paragraph of Maria Tchijov’s post leads to Healthreform.gov site and to the post “Coverage Denied: How the Current Health Insurance System Leaves Millions Behind.”

At the base of the page I read,

“This is an official U.S. Government Web site managed by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.”

Obama, any one?

Okay, still interested in the claim made by Moveon.org, I scrolled down and found the sentence,

“It is still legal in nine states for insurers to reject applicants who are survivors of domestic violence, citing the history of domestic violence as a pre-existing condition. (8)”

Clicking on (8), I was taken to the footnote, “8 National Women’s Law Center. Nowhere to Turn: How the Individual Health Insurance Market Fails Women, 2008.

Fair enough, they quote a magazine article from 2008. I did a web search through Google and found a pdf copy of the article.

On page 10 of the article, I read,

Rejection: Insurers Refusing to Sell Women Coverage
In most states, insurers are free to reject individuals applying for coverage in the individual market. Many women face such rejection at this underwriting stage of purchasing insurance for a wide range of reasons. For example, women have greater health needs than men and are more likely than men to suffer from a chronic condition requiring ongoing treatment, like asthma or arthritis.19 These conditions can lead to rejection of coverage. In addition, if during the medical underwriting process the insurer discovers that an applicant underwent a past C-section, the company may charge her a higher premium, impose an exclusionary period during which it refuses to cover another C-section or pregnancy, or even reject her for coverage altogether unless she has been sterilized or is no longer of childbearing age. 20 Insurers in D.C. and the following nine states are allowed to deny coverage to domestic violence survivors: Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming. 21” (Emphasis added)

Okay, there is the claim again with footnote ’21” which leads to,

“Women’s Law Project & Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, FYI: Insurance Discrimination Against Victims of Domestic Violence, 2002 Supplement 2 (2002), http://www.womenslawproject.org/brochures/InsuranceSup_DV2002.pdf. In the early 1990s, advocates discovered that insurers had denied applications for coverage submitted by women who had experienced domestic violence. See, e.g., 142 Cong. Rec. E1013-03, at E1013-14 (June 5, 1996) (statement of Rep. Pomeroy) (“the Pennsylvania State Insurance Commissioner surveyed company practices in Pennsylvania and found that 26% of the respondents acknowledged that they considered domestic violence a factor in issuing health, life and accident insurance”). Since 1994, the majority of states have adopted legislation prohibiting health insurers from denying coverage based on domestic violence, but nine states and D.C. offer no such protection to survivors of domestic violence. Even though Vermont lacks legislation specifically prohibiting discrimination against domestic violence survivors, the state requires guaranteed issue of all individual insurance plans.”

Clicking the link supplied in the footnote took me to a brochure published in 2002, “FYI: Insurance Discrimination Against Victims of Domestic Violence,” which supplied the experience of 3 battered women escaping their batterers and listing one who had trouble obtaining car insurance due to her having legally changed her Social Security Number and not wanting to supply it to the insurance company who would then check her driving record, as everybody has to do to obtain car insurance.

Another who had problems obtaining a property damage settlement over her abusive husband setting their house on fire and another who also had trouble obtaining a settlement over her house being burned down by an abusive male.

In both of the latter cases, after negative publicity in newspapers, both were paid the claims.

Further into the brochure I found information listing Federal Legislative Activity designed to end any discrimination on insurance coverage against battered women. Listed there is the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, also known as the “Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999.”

The act was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Phil Gramm (Republican of Texas) and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Jim Leach (R-Iowa). The third lawmaker associated with the bill was Rep. Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. (R-Virginia).

While the Women’s Law Project brochure claims,

“This act applies to the financial services industry and permits banks to sell insurance subject to state regulation. It also includes a prohibition against domestic violence discrimination among its consumer protections. Based upon insurer treatment of domestic violence victims, this law prohibits banks from considering status as a victim of domestic violence or as a provider of services to victims of domestic violence as a criterion in insurance underwriting, pricing, renewal, scope of coverage or payment of claims. It applies to health and life insurance only,”

Barack Obama today believes that the Act directly helped cause the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis. But that is another subject unrelated to Moveon.org’s claim of “some insurance companies actually consider domestic violence a ‘pre-existing condition’.”

What I do see is a very intricate web of deceit through several different websites arriving back at examples of car insurance and property claims being denied.

Even though the states listed may, and I emphasis may, have not have passed a state law directly prohibiting insurance companies from denying health insurance to victims of domestic violence, does not the provision written into the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act by the three Republicans that submitted it preclude them from actually denying health insurance?

Also in Moveon.org’s email I read,

“We’ve all heard the tragic stories about how health insurance companies use the ‘pre-existing conditions’ rule to deny coverage to people suffering from chronic disease.

But extending it to domestic violence victims is simply beyond the pale-and it’s perfectly legal in eight states and the District of Columbia. In fact, one survey found that 8 of the 16 largest insurers in the country have used domestic violence as a factor in denying coverage.

These outrages won’t end until we force private insurance companies to compete with a high-quality, affordable public plan that’ll keep them honest.

Seeing how the steps have been taken to arrive at this tearful insinuation of abused women being denied any medical coverage or care, perhaps it is Moveon.org who needs to be “kept honest” or just ignored.

A Healthcare Solution for Moveon.org

by lewwaters

Just received in email from Moveon.org’s Nita Chaudhary, a tearful plea for help in hosting a vigil for “those who are suffering in your city.”

Says Nita, “Everybody is talking about health care these days. But they’re not talking about what really matters: the people we all know who live in fear, pain or debt under our current health care system.”

Vigil’s aren’t what is needed, Ms. Chaudhary nor is a massive tax increase to take over our healthcare system.

Citizens deserve the same treatment as Veterans, I keep hearing, so forgo the vigil and just issue these citizens “who live in fear, pain or debt under our current health care system” their own copy of the End of Life counseling booklet Obama has reinstated for Veterans, Your Life, Your Choices, also known as The Death Book for Veterans.

Democrats Just Won’t Stop Lying

by lewwaters

Obama, ShockFor 8 years we all saw how the Democratic Cartel in power today lied about, fearmongered and totally misrepresented Republicans and the Bush administration. Since seizing dictatorial control of the government this has increased, not decreased.

In two previous posts, Democrats, STOP THE LIES! and Who Is Really Orchestrating?, I mentioned some examples and showed how organized efforts in this healthcare reform fiasco is them, not the ones they accuse.

It was shown on a national level how they misrepresented and blew a memo from a small Connecticut Libertarian group of less than 20 people into a major Republican coordinated effort. And still, the coordinated Democrat lies keep coming.

In last few days I have received numerous emails claiming how it is Republicans disrupting town halls and perpetrating violence, when in actuality it is the Union thugs sent by Democrats doing such. Inciting comments in those emails are as follows,

Received from Paul Begala on July 27, “The Republican attacks on health care are getting downright scary. And I mean literally.

One Republican says that now is the time to “go for the kill” on health insurance reform and even “drive a stake through its heart.” Another one talks about making it President Obama’s “Waterloo” and adding that “it will break him.” Jeez. These guys sound like they’re living inside a bad horror movie.”

From Mitch Stewart of Organizing for America, received on July 29, “You’ve probably seen the headlines: Opponents of change are doing everything they can to delay health insurance reform. As a Republican strategy memo concluded, “If we slow this sausage-making process down, we can defeat it,”” referring to the now infamous Libertarian memo to 10 people.

On July 29, the DCCC’s John Vogel said, “Today the Republicans launched an early assault to try and stop President Obama’s progress on health care reform. It’s also bigger than we were expecting. Republicans are now spending $1 million of special interest money on campaign activities attacking Democrats who support President Obama on health care reform.

Their rhetoric is also reaching absurd new levels. One House Republican said that health care reform will cause seniors to be “put to death by their government.””

August 3 brought from Bill Clinton, through the DCCC, “But, just as I did in 1993, President Obama has run into a buzz saw of special interest opposition to his top domestic policy priority — health care reform. He is facing off against some of the most powerful special interests in Washington who’ve launched a furious campaign to preserve the status quo.”

On August 5, signed by Barack Obama, “There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we’ve got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.

That’s why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you’re counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support.”

Again from John Vogel and received August 6, “Republicans wanted a fight on health insurance reform this summer? Thanks to you, they’re about to get more than they bargained for.

It’s getting hard to keep track of all the truth-twisting attacks by the Republicans in their drive to preserve the status quo for big health insurance companies. That’s why the DCCC has launched HealthCareFactCheck.com, to expose these false attacks.”

Also on August 6, Vogel sent out, “At a time when families are looking for solutions to rebuild the economy and make health care more affordable, Rush Limbaugh is attempting to sidetrack the important debate through his use of symbols that are synonymous with murder, intolerance and genocide.”

August 10 saw Mitch Stewart send out, “Members of Congress have been home for just a few days, and they’re already facing increased pressure from insurance companies, special interests, and partisan attack organizations that are spending millions to block health insurance reform.

These groups are using scare tactics and spreading smears about the President’s plan for reform, trying to incite constituents into lashing out at their representatives and disrupting their events.

The goal of these disruptions is for a few people to get a lot of media attention and hijack the entire public discourse.”

August 10, David Axelrod of the White House staff sent, “Anyone that’s watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic – and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it’s time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.”

August 10 also saw Moveon.org’s Nita Chaudary email, “Right-wing extremists have been crashing tons of events and trying to dominate the national debate. But MoveOn members won’t let them succeed-we’re pushing back with Real Voices for Change, an ambitious campaign to show that the overwhelming majority of Americans continue to support President Obama’s plans for change.”

Uh, if they really had the support they claim, would they have to resort to such cries for support?

You’ll note too, there is no mention of Nancy Pelosi calling those of us concerned Nazi’s, un-American and no mention of just last week, Washington State’s Brian Baird referring to us “Brown shirt’s” with a “lynch mob mentality.”

The Obama administration and is Democratic cartel have publicly called upon the SEIU, the Service Employees International Union, to appear at town halls to “counter” concerned citizens who question the proposed healthcare changes being shoved down our throats.

Andy Stern of the SEIU, in response to their “organizing philosophy” says,

We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that doesn’t work we use the persuasion of power.”

Just ask Kenneth Gladney, the Black man in St. Louis who members of the SEIU viciously attacked and beat last week about the effectiveness of the SEIU’s “organizing philosophy.”

Those that either oppose or speak of legitimate concerns on this proposed legislation that would grab one sixth of our economy have gone over the parts of the bill that have been made public. They have picked out troubling aspects and presented their arguments and concerns by quoting the actual bill by page and paragraph number.

The Democratic cartel sends in the goons and emails false claims to let you know you are too dumb to read.

If this bill is as good as they claim and will do as much to better people as they say, two points come to mind.

1. Why don’t they do as the concerned citizens do and counter concerns by quoting page and paragraph number as well, showing us the actual benefit or lay to rest concerns we have?

2. Why are they unwilling to place their families and selves on it first?

Perhaps those opposed to it, middle class Americans, not the special interest corporations the neo-coms claim, are on to something.

Perhaps individuals showing up en masse at town halls and who angrily speak up really are angry at how we are treated and disrespected as the Democratic cabal manipulates us into surrendering our liberties and freedoms to them?

Perhaps we need to speak up louder and tell these Democrats where to put their socialist agenda!
