Clark County GOP Pens Open Letter to Herrera Beutler (Updated)

by lewwaters

Herrera Smile 2Although I have not been very vocal for some time about it, the election of Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler is one that I have opposed in 2010 and in 2012 stayed out of. I did not hide my views in the 2010 primary that she was not suited for the job.

And she has proven me right more than once.

Of late, after some 15 days of the recent partial shut down of the government, she issued a letter calling on everybody to “face reality” on Obamacare and subsequently surrendered by voting to accept Obama and the Democrats terms, leaving the rest of us standing strong with egg on our faces.

The local Republican Party, under new leaders then when it firmly backed her against strong conservative candidates in 2010, to the point of actively undermining a candidate that previously held positions in Washington D.C. with the Veterans Administration and Department of Homeland Security, has issued an open letter expressing their disappointment with Ms. Herrera Beutler.

Obama’s Message to Unions

by lewwaters

I wonder just how many walk-outs he called for as a community agitator, organizer?

Barack, a wise old saying goes, “caution, place brain in gear before putting mouth in motion.”

BREAKING NEWS ALERT: The Sun Came Up

by lewwaters

When I got up this morning, there was light in the sky and the sun had risen in the East as it has every day of my 65 years. Yep, just another day. There was no Revelations apocalypse after the government shutdown, nor did some dark beast come to gobble up little children and old people like Democrats have claimed. (With thanks to Commissioner Steve Stuart)

(UPDATED) Republican Governor’s Speak Out Against Obamacare Ruling, Rob McKenna Caves

by lewwaters

The dust has yet to settle on just what all the full implications will be over the Supreme Courts astonishing decision to subject the American people to the largest tax increase in the history of our country, also known as Obamacare or the Affordable care Act.

An unprecedented decision that allows the American citizens to be taxed if we do not purchase health insurance as directed by the elitist government.

Shortly after the decision was announced this morning, the Republican Governor’s Association issued a statement expressing their opposition to the act.

The statement said in part,

“Today’s ruling crystallizes all that’s at stake in November’s election. The only way to stop Barack Obama’s budget-busting health care takeover is by electing a new president.”

“Barack Obama’s health care takeover encapsulates his Presidency: Obamacare increases taxes, grows the size of government and puts bureaucrats over patients while doing nothing to improve the economy.”

Supreme Court Decides for Socialism and Against the American People

by lewwaters

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was right just days ago when she said the Supreme Court’s decision on Obamacare would come as a big surprise to many people. Today’s announcement that the government is free to mandate private citizens purchase health insurance or be fined by the government totally shocked well over half of the American people who have consistently called for this ‘Obamanation’ to be repealed.

Even more surprising was seeing that Chief Justice John Roberts was the swing vote in the 5 to 4 decision that just handed the government total power to just mandate whatever they desire the people to do and we must comply? Isn’t that something more along the lines of Cuba, Venezuela or the former Soviet Union?

Most telling in the decision is Justice Roberts reasoning he wrote in the majority decision of the “individual mandate requiring people to have health insurance is valid as a tax, even though it is impermissible under the Constitution’s commerce clause.”

Yes, requiring us to buy health insurance is unconstitutional, but since it is a tax, it is now constitutional to tax us if we do not comply and buy health insurance.

Preemptive Fearmongering on SCOTUS Obamacare Decision

by lewwaters

Tomorrow is the big day, the United States Supreme Court will announce their decision on the lawsuits filed by several states over Barack Obama’s signature legislation rammed through by a lame duck congress, Obamacare. Or, as Democrats prefer to falsely label it, the Affordable Care Act, the one former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi famously said we would have to pass in order to see what was in it.

No one knows yet which way the high court will decide on whether the federal government can force citizens into buying a product they may not desire.

The pollsters have been busy, though, polling Americans on what they want to see from the Court. According to the Houston Chronicle,

“Only 10% of Americans expect Supreme Court to uphold all of ObamaCare.”

“33 percent — say they expect the court to uphold portions of the law but strike down the requirement that Americans either buy insurance or pay a fine, the poll finds.”

“18 percent believe that the court will strike down the entire law and send Congress back to the drawing board.”

I Thought People Were Dropping Like Flies?

by lewwaters

Early in Obama’s presidency, we saw a huge push for health care reform with rhetoric flowing on why we had to change health care in America, how government would do it better and basically, American’s were dying by the droves, dropping like flies in essence unless we allowed Obama’s socialist health care system to pass.

We heard claims of “Thousands of people die each year because they do not have health insurance or their policy does not cover the medicine or procedures they need,” and “Take a look at our life expectancy and infant mortality rate and you will find the USA has one of the highest rates of infant mortality among Industrialized nations and ranks with the lowest in life expectancy.”

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) informed us, “Reform is neither easy nor cheap, but the cost of inaction is far greater – in terms of lives lost, quality of life, and dollars.”

Who can forget the graphic display of former Florida Democrat Alan Grayson as he announced on the House Floor, “the Republican plan for uninsured Americans is ‘don’t get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly?”

Come Help Me, Obama

Background and earlier video at PrisonPlanet

Why call on Obama? Too many abdicated their parental responsibility to the state and since the initial stand-off with Police was over mandated medical treatment, anyone doubt the Mother supports Obamacare?

Won’t do any good to call on Obama. He’s not a messiah.

Organizing for America Misleads On the “Rape” Of Healthcare Reform

by lewwaters

In yet another blatant attempt to pull the wool over the average American’s eyes, Organizing for America, a decidedly pro-Obama far left group has placed a video online that, if taken at face value, deludes taxpayers and the masses into believing all the cares and worries you have had are over.

Organizing For America Video

While the video is very professionally done and appealing, down to the inclusion of Obama’s signature logo at the end and such appealing music with the soft “about time” spoken in the background, reality has begun to set in with some who couldn’t wait for the new “freebie.”

McClatchy Newspapers, not exactly the most conservative of sources, recently brought much of this out with their article, Health care overhaul spawns mass confusion for public.

Telling us of how insurance companies, doctors’ offices, human resources departments and business groups have been deluged with calls asking to sign up, we read of a reply given from eHealthInsurance.com’s Carrie McLean who says,

“We tell them it’s not free, that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low-income, but that ultimately most of that is not going to be taking place until 2014.”

And, those “pre-existing conditions” the video so prominently mentions are now covered and cannot be refused? McClatchy says in the article,

“Adults with pre-existing conditions are frustrated to learn that insurers won’t have to cover them until 2014 (though those under 18 will be protected in late September); then they become both hopeful and confused upon learning that a federal high-risk pool for them will be established in the next few months.”

And, those tax cuts and benefits? Most have no idea that what their employers pay for their health insurance they receive through work are now taxable income to be reported on your W-2 every year.

That’s right. If your employer spends $3,000 for his portion of your health insurance, you pay taxes on $3,000 more in income every year.

OFA speaks of how small business will be helped by this. The National Federation of Independent Business’s Michelle Dimarob, manager of legislative affairs states,

“the lobby’s primary concern was that its costs would rise over the next four years as a result of fees, taxes and coverage mandates related to the overhaul. The next question that comes out of their mouths is, ‘What do I have to do right now?’ They need to start talking with their accountant, depending on how they’re organized, what industry they’re in and whether they’re offering insurance now and what kind they’re offering. We’re suggesting they talk to their agent or broker.”

Ms. Dimarob also says,

“While Obama has been touting a tax credit for small businesses that offer employees health coverage, many small businesses wouldn’t be able to participate. First they must do research to see whether they qualify. It requires them to understand the intricacies.”

And, Americans now will have “more choices?” Not according to the April 6, 2010 New York Times article, In Medicine, the Power of No that says,

“Learning to say no more often will be a three-step process, and if the new agencies created by the health act are run well, they can help with all three.”

Add to the mix comments from supporters, such as those by Florida Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz trying to convince constituents that the “Health Care Law Doesn’t Require Individuals to Buy Insurance.”

No Debbie, you just get hit with stiff fines if you don’t. Or, as her press secretary puts it,

“You have a choice of insuring yourself with affordable coverage, or paying an assessment that will offset the burden you place on other insured Americans and taxpayers by not being insured.”

Little wonder Obama has had to “embark on a years-long public education campaign about the overhaul” still trying to sell it after it is now law and Pelosi claimed that first, “the bill must be made law before we can see what’s in it.”

Cries from supporters of “just relax, accept it, it’s law now” are tantamount to me of telling a woman in the midst of a violent rape to “just relax and try to enjoy it.”

Ask yourselves, if it is really all that beneficial, why the need to hire 17,000 new IRS agents to “ENFORCE IT?”

As more voters wake-up to how elected officials just voted to “rape” the citizenry, will it be enough of them to vote these usurpers of our constitution out this November?

Or will you just continue to keep your head down and keep trying to convince yourself that this rape of the American taxpayer actually feels good?

Who Is Really Orchestrating?

by lewwaters

For over a week now, the Democratic cabal have been leveling false charges of how Republicans and conservatives have organized in opposition of Obamacare. Listening to them, attempting to draw support for your view and helping people express their views is all of a sudden something akin to blasphemy.

I was a little less than surprised to receive from Obama’s Organizing for America the following,

Obama, Organizing For America

Friend —

All throughout August, our members of Congress are back in town. Insurance companies and partisan attack groups are stirring up fear with false rumors about the President’s plan, and it’s extremely important that folks like you speak up now.

So we’ve cooked up an easy, powerful way for you to make a big impression: Office Visits for Health Reform.

All this week, OFA members like you will be stopping by local congressional offices to show our support for insurance reform. You can have a quick conversation with the local staff, tell your personal story, or even just drop off a customized flyer and say that reform matters to you.

We’ll provide everything you need: the address, phone number, and open hours for the office, information about how the health care crisis affects your state for you to drop off (with the option of adding your personal story), and a step-by-step guide for your visit.

According to our records, you live near Rep. Brian Baird’s office in Olympia, WA.

Sign up now to visit Rep. Brian Baird’s office in Olympia this week.

(Not your representative, or think there might be another office that’s
easier for you to get to? Click here to find a different office.)

As you’ve probably seen in the news, special interest attack groups are stirring up partisan mobs with lies about health reform, and it’s getting ugly. Across the country, members of Congress who support reform are being shouted down, physically assaulted, hung in effigy, and receiving death threats. We can’t let extremists hijack this debate, or confuse Congress about where the people stand.

Office Visits for Health Reform are our chance to show that the vast majority of American voters know that the cost of inaction is too high to bear, and strongly support passing health reform in 2009.

Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. The congressional staff is there to listen, and your opinion as a constituent matters a lot. And if you bring a friend, you’ll have more fun and make an even greater impact.

Click below to sign up for an Office Visit for Health Reform:

Wherever you live, these visits matter: Many representatives are pushing hard toward reform, and they are taking a lot of heat from special interests. They deserve our thanks and need our support to continue the fight. But those who are still putting insurance companies and partisan point-scoring ahead of their constituents must know that voters are watching — and that we expect better.

Earlier this week, the President wrote that “this is the moment our movement was built for” and asked us all to commit to join at least one event this month. This is the way to answer that call, and rise to the challenge of this moment together.

Thank you for going the extra mile when it matters the most,

Mitch

I am really left wondering, just what is this “movement” in the statement, “this is the moment our movement was built for.”

Are we not all American citizens now? Just what is this “movement” designed to do to our beloved country? Did he not take an oath to “faithfully protect and defend the constitution of the United States” for all, not just his “movement?”

Mostly out of curiosity, I visited Organizing for America to see just how they were orchestrating visits to congresscritters. The two pages below are what I found there. Bear in mind, it is something un-American now to draw people to your point of view if a Republican.

Obama, Schedule Visit to Rep. 1

(larger view of image here)

and

Obama, Schedule Visit To Rep. 2

(Larger view of image here)

Note on page 1 that they will give you step by step instruction on your visit with your congresscritter and supply you with needed information to make their view, oops, sorry, your view, known.

On page 2 next to the block to enter your phone number, you read (so that an organizer can follow up with you.)

Don’t they trust that you would conduct the visit in the proper manner, as per their instructions?

And what if you didn’t? Do you get scolded? Told to repeat the visit and do it right this time? Will you be expected to rat out the congresscritter he/she doesn’t jump on board? Wouldn’t reporting him to flag@whitehouse.gov accomplish that as well?

I am left wondering if their position is so weak that they must resort to leading people around by the nose and putting words and thoughts in their mouth to drum up support for this.

I have to tell you, Obama gets scarier and scarier all the time and, we are only a little over 200 days into this regime.
