Updated: Does Sacrifices of Our Troops Mean Anything?

by lewwaters

We all hear and say it, “thank you for your service” to Veterans and active duty Military. I’m sure most actually mean it when said, but do people actually understand what sacrifices our Troops have made over the years?

If so, why are those sacrifices so easily cast aside as if they hold no meaning?

What do I mean?

Bush’s Policies Increase Oil Production, Obama Gets Credit

by lewwaters

It should come as no surprise to any of us that Barack Obama’s chances of being reelected look very slim. Or that our lamestream media will now do anything they can think of to build support to get him reelected, claiming some of the most fantastic lies they can muster.

A prime example of how the Obama Campaign is self-promoting lies is seen in the latest television ad, ‘Challenges,’ narrated by actor Morgan Freeman. It’s disappointing to see a man of Freeman’s caliber lending his voice to such a fabricated claim.

Perhaps he didn’t hear about the murder of our Ambassador and 3 other Americans in the Benghazi Consulate recently, or the high unemployment still seen in Detroit, Michigan or that GM’s bailout leaves taxpayers facing a $35 Billion loss while two thirds of the jobs promised seem to be overseas more than in Detroit.

He is correct that “more needs done,” especially considering VP Biden admitted the middle class has been buried these last 4 years and even in the last debate Obama admitted in the final debate, “we’ve neglected, for example, developing our own economy, our own energy sectors, our own education system. And it’s very hard for us to project leadership around the world when we’re not doing what we need to do…”

It appears that “going forward” with Obama will lead us right over the edge of a cliff of disaster that will finish off our country.

Where Are Obama and the Democrats as Gasoline Prices Soar?

by lewwaters

As gasoline prices hit and in some area pass $4.00 a gallon, what happened to the outrage from Congress we saw in the past?

“Someone is making a killing,” said John Kerry, Democrat Senator from Massachusetts.

“The American public is angry. They have a sense they are being held hostage to you, the oil companies. One is left with the inescapable conclusion that profiteering is occurring at the expense of the American consumer,” said Senator Richard Bryan, Democrat of Nevada.

“In the last week, American consumers have been ripped off on a massive scale,” says Senator Joseph Lieberman, Democrat of Connecticut who added, “Mr. Bush should summon executives of the big oil companies and tell them to exercise price restraint.”

OPEC “may not be the only greedy people in this picture,” said Democrat Representative Phil Sharp of Indiana.

At the time Democrats were lambasting President Bush 41, yes the first President Bush in 1990, the AAA was reporting the average price of gas had risen to $1.20, as quoted in an August 8, 1990 New York Times.

Fast forward 18 years to 2008 and we see Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. Saying, “I don’t know what President Bush thinks, but four-and-a-half dollar-a-gallon gas is an emergency for America’s families. When was the last time the president filled his own tank?”

Syrians Know the Impotence of Barack Obama

by lewwaters

Hat Tip to Bad Rachel who states, “5,000 Syrians have been massacred by Bashar Assad since March, including 300 children. How are those sanctions workin’ out, Mr. Obama?”

For the inevitable troll claiming the sign being in English means it must be photoshopped, video of Syrian women protesting in the street carrying a sign clearly stating in English, “USA PEOPLE, YOU LIVED 11 SEPTEMBER ONE TIME, BUT WE LIVE IT EVERYDAY.”

BHO is doing nothing other than kowtowing to the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist radicals.

Thanks to the Actions of Which President?

by lewwaters

As usual, Barack Obama is creating yet another false illusion on his effectiveness as president. The following was received in email just today.

If you note the second sentence below the video, you will read, “Now, thanks to the actions of this President, we can say that conflict is coming to a close.”

Nothing could be more deceptive. The Obama administration was actually negotiating a new Status of Forces Agreement to keep U.S. Troops in Iraq longer and negotiations ceased as the Iraqi’s would not agree to US. Forces not being tried in Iraqi Courts.

The Dec. 31, 2011 deadline of having all U.S. Troops out of Iraq is not an agreement made by Barack Obama, but was agreed upon between President George W. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki before Obama was even inaugurated.

As  we read in a release from Defense Department dated December 15, 2008,

“The status-of-forces agreement outlines the framework for American forces withdrawal while providing authorization and protections for U.S. troops to continue support operations after the United Nations mandate expires Dec. 31.”

“Although the pace of meeting those agreements depends on the Iraqi government and military, Bush said, the SOFA acknowledges that U.S. combat forces in Iraq are required to withdraw from Iraqi cities, villages and localities no later than June 30, and it calls for a complete withdrawal of forces by Dec. 31, 2011″

Leave it to the Democrats, who always blame everyone else for their misdeeds, to now come forth grabbing credit for what a Republican President set in place before they were even in office and not give any credit whatsoever to him.

Wouldn’t it be great if they could be honest, just once?

Revisiting 9/11: “Hit the buildings, Missed America”

by lewwaters

What happened, America? We came together as a people, united behind the President demanding justice for so many of our people being murdered in an senseless act of war.

How did we allow unscrupulous politico’s to once again divide us?

Where did the resolve we read in the following go? I did not write the following, but wish I had.

From Cowboy Politics to a Rodeo Clown?

by lewwaters

Since the horrific attacks on our nation September 11, 2001 and the decision of then President George W. Bush to finally fight back against the growing threat of radical Islamist terror, the pejorative “Cowboy Politics” entered our daily speak to express disapproval of President Bush.

From “you are either with us or against us” to “bring it on,” President Bush was accused of being a “cowboy” in the world political stage and taking a stand against terror. Regardless of what he did, someone vocalized opposition often to include some reference to his being from the state of Texas.

American media especially seemed to make the term “cowboy” derogatory whenever used in connection with George W. Bush and his policies in fighting terrorists.

Fast forward to 2011, May 1 exactly. With the war still going on and the mastermind of those attacks long ago still eluding justice, Barack Obama went before the world to state not that he had been captured, but a risky secret operation had succeeded in killing Al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden.

Even before his short speech ended, crowds gathered outside of the White House chanting “USA, USA, USA,” and “four more years” and no doubt some in attendance expressed relief from that they called “cowboy politics” when George W. Bush was in power.

Come Together… Right Now? Oh Lord

by lewwaters

obama-mussolini-posePlaying off of the Beatles 1969 hit, Come Together, the Columbian’s editor, Lou Brancaccio laments of times past in Chicago’s Grants Park when a riot broke out at a rock concert by Sly and the Family Stone, who did not appear.

Relating the 1970 riot event to this weeks love fest over B HO being elected the first Mulatto president, Brancaccio longingly opines of how wonderful and different it was today.

I wasn’t able to be present at this concert or the earlier all time greatest concert, Woodstock, due to my being busy on the other side of the world earning the scorn and hate of people like Brancaccio by fighting for my country.

Of the election itself, he says, “This was a bitter election campaign. Palling around with terrorists, socialists, clinging to guns, it was all a bit much.” Funny thing is, I don’t recall any actual in depth coverage of B HO’s long association with an unrepentant Domestic Terrorist, his announced policies being plagiarized from the likes of Vladimir Lenin and Mao Zedong, or his repeated gaffes slapping blue collar America’s for their values. Could it be the “bit too much” was his efforts at ignoring and hiding truths from the Columbian’s readers who might have benefited from actually hearing in depth reporting on B HO?

Brancaccio now desire’s a similar love fest of “Togetherness” held at Esther Short Park with Democrats, Republicans and Independents, all laying down our swords, joining hands and singing Kumbaya to each other.

He states, “So is there an opportunity now to stop the shouting and the name-calling, end the fist-pumping? I think so. But the window for this kind of thing is always open for only a short time. We’ll all need to take advantage of it quickly.”

Yes, Lou, all we need do is compromise our values, beliefs and principles and now that the Socialist Demokratik Politburo has all the power, abandon our independent thought and submit to their rule, all in the name of “Togetherness.”

Of course, he deftly avoids mention of how for the past 8 years; he and others went out of their way to reject our calls of some “Togetherness” in support of our President and to further the nation in harmony. In fact, for 8 years we have heard nothing positive from Brancaccio concerning President Bush or his policies.

Togetherness was a vulgar word until B HO was announced as victor in this elongated coup de tat.

When a gracious lady from Alaska was chosen as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, did they celebrate the second woman to be nominated to such a high office? No. She was subjected to some of the vilest rumors, innuendos, and trumped up charges imaginable. She was castigated for not aborting her infant son, for standing alongside her daughter who has made the all too common mistake of an early pregnancy, for being an independent person who shook up the old boy network of her own party in Alaska and who had the audacity to dress nice for campaigning.

Did Brancaccio call for this to stop and show some honor to such a person? If he did, I certainly missed it. Would those desiring “Togetherness” today have listened if he had? Don’t bank on it.

Was it a display of “Togetherness” this past Tuesday at the Hilton when my wife and another lady stuck their heads into the love fest at the Hilton and all they received were sneers once their Dino Rossi stickers were seen?

This, even though the Socialist Demokratik Politburo partiers erected a sign reading, “Tonight America Came Together” outside the ballroom door where they held their Obama love fest.

To these people, “Togetherness” now means we submit totally to their rule and abandon our independence and free thought and love of America, in favor of their hate of the traditional America that has been the greatest beacon of truth and freedom in the history of mankind.

As was pointed out to me earlier this evening by Debbie Peterson, we have enabled the left. When they cut us off at the knees, stabbed us in the back, rejected our calls for cooperation and togetherness, belittled our President and his staff and yes, even the Brave Troops who have voluntarily placed themselves between us an the most brutal enemy we have ever faced, we turned the other cheek and tried to keep playing nice with them.

They took it as weakness and kept attacking until their coup de tat was complete.

Like spoiled children who have always gotten their way and like to bully others, they kept up a relentless attack for 8 years. It is time they received a long over due spanking, so to speak.

We conservatives are in the position to give them that spanking and I intend to do so right here. No longer can we afford to turn the other cheek, no matter how much they whine we are supposed to. No longer can we accept their tantrums and just let them have their way. We must counter them in a way they understand by using many of their own tactics.

We need to be relentless in pointing out their hypocrisy and their scandals and make a big stink about them, loudly. We need demonstrations downtown or anywhere else we can. We need no longer cower in fear of offending them.

Above all, we need to return the treatment that have dished out to President Bush and all of us and reject all calls for “Togetherness” and “Compromise” of our values.

I expect letters to the Editor to be denied or heavily edited by the Columbian and even the Oregonian. They have control of the press, but not of the Internet and personal conversations. We can express our views right here or at any other Internet site in Clark County.

If we want to save America from becoming just another communist third world nation, we must come together and oppose the left with everything we have. Ignore their gloating. The honey coating on B HO will fade quickly and we must be prepared to expose him and his cronies at every step.

We can and must do it, for America, for our children and grandchildren and for our Brave Troops.

For liberals who read this and think I am bitter, I can only say, You Betcha!”

It takes a lot of damned gall to offer your hand in “Togetherness” after rejecting and slapping ours for so many years.
