Vietnam Plus Fifty

by lewwaters

Recently I acknowledged on facebook of the date, February 6, 1969, the 50th anniversary of my entering the U.S. Army. Looking back it’s hard to believe that was actually 50 years ago, just a few months after my 20th birthday.

As I have said to others many times over the years, I enlisted after earlier receiving my draft notice, hoping to receive training in the “job of my choice” instead of automatically being placed into the infantry and shipped off to Vietnam, as my career Army cousin had told me would most likely have happened if drafted.

As luck would have it, on July 13, 1969 I landed at Bien Hoa Airbase in South Vietnam after completing training in my “job of choice” in helicopters from Ft. Eustis, Virginia.

Like most men that I served with, I believed in what we were sent over there to do and did not approve of the actions of the few that seemed to draw the headlines back in the U.S. claiming day to day atrocities and mayhem.

Raw Video, Hatemongers Protest Sheriff Arpaio in Oregon, Fail to Intimidate

by lewwaters

June 27, 2015, Sheriff Joe Arpaio spoke in Salem, Oregon on behalf of the Oregon Republican Party. Throughout his speech, hecklers and Liberal hatemongers tried to drown him out so those that came to hear him could not.

After the speech, Sheriff Arpaio walked over to meet with protesters and speak with them. The video below, posted on facebook by DQ Nanke reveals the “civility” we usually see from Liberal hatemongers. Language warning

And Lefty Lou whines about Don Benton not shaking his hand and allegedly saying he is a scumbag?

An Acquittal, Race-Baiting and Lynch Mob Hysteria

by lewwaters

Lynching 3It comes as little surprise to see George Zimmerman acquitted of the charges of second degree murder and manslaughter in the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida last year. From day one, the evidence to support such an allegation just wasn’t there and none presented during the trial did anything to disprove Zimmerman’s claims.

My initial concerns of him receiving a fair trial were in the forefront of my thoughts during the trial, seeing many from the judge going in favor of the prosecution, but in the end, justice prevailed and Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges.

At least, in a court of law he was acquitted. A heavily biased media whipped the Black Community and Liberals into a frenzy since they first made the case national news, editing audio to make Zimmerman sound racist, portraying Martin as an innocent 12 year-old simply buying Skittles and even trying to portray Zimmerman as White, changing that label to White Hispanic when his true ethnicity came out.

Union Cries Foul At Coast Guard Escort For Grain Ship

by lewwaters

The United States Coast Guard has a long history of protecting our coastal waterways and shorelines. They state on their website,

“For over two centuries the U.S. Coast Guard has safeguarded our Nation’s maritime interests in the heartland, in the ports, at sea, and around the globe. We protect the maritime economy and the environment, we defend our maritime borders, and we save those in peril. This history has forged our character and purpose as America’s Maritime Guardian — Always Ready for all hazards and all threats.”

Serving in the U.S. Coast Guard has often been shown honorable, yet hazardous in many of their missions.

Most Americans hold the Coast Guard, along with the rest of our brave younger people in other branches of the Military in highest regard, recognizing the sacrifices made on all of our behalf and appreciating their performance in the duties.

Apparently not in that group of appreciative people is members of the San Francisco Labor Council who has issued a condemnation of the announcement that Coast Guard vessels will escort the first ship due to dock at the EGT Grain Terminal at the Port of Longview, still embroiled in a labor dispute with ILWU local 21 in Longview, Washington.

Will Sam Adams Apologize for Upholding the Law?

by lewwaters

The non-leader facilitator of Occupy Portland, Adriane Ackerman read a prepared statement this morning in Portland, decrying what she called “deplorable police action” as Sam Adams finally found a little spine and cleared the illegal squatters out of Chapman and Lownsdale squares in Portland.

Ackerman, who was also seen Saturday evening directing matters leading up to the 12:01 AM “suggested deadline” for the illegal squatters to leave the parks, is demanding an apology from Adams for what she called “militarized police action that led to violence against peaceful protester.”

Video of the “news conference” is at KPTV 12

A poll on KPTV asking if Adams should apologize is running 94% NO, 6% yes.

A similar poll here on KGW’s article is running 92% NO, 8% yes.

Ackerman claims to be cutting off communication with the city until such time Adams issues a formal apology for upholding Portland’s law.

Adams has expressed support for the illegal squatters so the question is, will he continue to ignore the rights and needs of 99% of Portland residents to facilitate illegal squatters? Or will he stand firm and act like a mayor should against illegal squatters who know threaten in invade banks around the nation this coming Thursday?

UPDATE: Most outrageous to now see the city of Portland requesting donations from citizens to restore the two parks that idiot mayor Sam Adams gave illegal squatters permission to destroy. http://www.portlandparksfoundation.org/historic-squares

Democrats Come Out In Support of Occupy Wall Street

by lewwaters

Any doubt left that the Democrat Party has lost touch with mainstream America and is more interested in the destruction of America as we have always known it is laid to rest;

While the Democrat Party now demonizes corporations and continues to lay all blame on everybody else but them, they now come out in support of a disjointed group of malcontents whose goal is a total disruption of your life so they can receive a free ride. Democrats forget their own complicity in the continually degrading economy as they ask for more Billions in stimulus, promote bypassing of congress by Barack Obama to implement his radical leftwing views and continue to promote a socialist takeover of America.

They Turned Down a Congressman Speaking For This?

Video of the Occupy Atlanta actions immediately after Rep. John Lewis was denied a few minutes to address the block here

Remember, an announcement is information. A proposal is a, well, err, a proposal.

Got that?

It appears too that Whitey still calls all the shots down in Atlanta, Georgia.

Does Anybody Know Why Are We In Afghanistan?

by lewwaters

Watch this video and pay close attention to the very end, if you still wonder why

A curious question you might ask?

I have to agree, but that is one asked by a reader of our local paper, The Columbian in the December 14, 2009 Letters To The Editor and titled Deploying more troops is regrettable.

How have people been lulled back to sleep after September 11, 2001? How has the left forgotten and ignored how they demeaned President Bush’s efforts in Iraq by crying often, “Afghanistan is where the fight is” or “Afghanistan is the central front in the War on Terror?” Is that not a question frequently put before us by those who said Iraq was a folly and was drawing needed resources away from the real war in Afghanistan?

Failed 2004 Democrat candidate for president, John ‘F’in Kerry is one of the more vocal ones who expressed strong opposition to Iraq while calling for more resources to Afghanistan and now, talks of abandoning Afghanistan too, just as he advocated when he stabbed Viet Nam Veterans in the back in 1971.

He is far from the only one, though. On September 14, 2001 a rare display of bi-partisanship authorized President Bush to take Military action. It passed in the Senate by a vote of 98 to 0 and the House, 420 to 1. Then chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Joe Biden said, “The nation is resolute, and I have every confidence we will prevail.”

The Republican whip in the House, Tom DeLay said, “The president can act with patience and deliberation because the American people are united behind our duty to vindicate freedom.”

Apparently that “resolute feelings” and “united” notion held little meaning for all too many as we are told in an October 13, 2009 New York Times article, “Mr. Biden has been Mr. Obama’s in-house pessimist on Afghanistan, the strongest voice against further escalation of American forces there and the leading doubter of the president’s strategy” now that he is vice president.
