UPDATED: Wisconsin’s Governor Walker Defeats Union Inspired Recall Effort

by lewwaters

Expectations of a nail biting finish and close race in the Wisconsin recall effort of Republican Governor Scott Walker were quickly dashed this evening as from the first reports after the polls closed, Governor Walker jumped to a commanding lead, 22 points at one stage over Democrat rival, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Within moments of the first reports, Twitter accounts and facebook pages lit up with the exciting news of such a stunning victory for conservatives and Governor Walker, making him the first Governor to survive a recall effort.

Also surviving the union backed recall effort was Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four state Senate seats, although one Senate seat remains too close to call in Racine County.

Kleefisch was opposed by Madison firefighter and union president Mahlon Mitchell in the first ever recall of a Lieutenant Governor. Kleefisch happily repeated an often heard chant from the fading Occupy movement heard over the fall and winter, “Now this is what democracy looks like!”

Governor Walker, speaking to an overflow crowd at the same party said, “Tonight we tell Wisconsin, we tell our country, and we tell people all across the globe that voters really do want leaders that stand up and make the tough decisions,” adding, “Tomorrow is the day after the election and tomorrow we are no longer opponents. We are one as Wisconsinites,” reminding supporters that it will take all working together to continue the improvements seen since he won the Governor’s race last year.

As Goes Wisconsin, So Will The Rest of America?

by lewwaters

Well, tomorrows the big day in Wisconsin. Unions successfully called for and gathered signatures to form a recall of Republican Governor Scott Walker even though his measures of reform have improved the economy of the state.

As has been previously shown, West Coast States did not fare well in recent rankings for business friendliness, California remaining unchanged at dead last, Oregon slipping into the ten worst list with Washington State not far behind, also slipping a few spots.

Wisconsin on the other hand seems headed in the right direction as Wisconsin has shown a 4 point improvement, moving up to number 20 from the previous position of number 24.

But, as we have seen for some time, expecting public unions to “share the sacrifice” and “pay their fair share” is not in their cards as they launched massive protests, occupations of public buildings and generally made complete asses out of themselves.

So the recall moves ahead, ignoring their state has improved with the little tweaks favored by Governor Walker.

But, it all could blow up in their faces as it is very likely Governor Walker will be retained by voters who enjoy having jobs and keeping a little more of their paychecks.

Wisconisn Unions Protest Black Children Receiving a Good Education & Gov. Walker’s Visit

by lewwaters

With as many as 85% of Messmer Catholic School children going on to college, when public schools under union control see drop-out rates as high as 50%, you’d think the unions would encourage more schools like Messmer. Not so, as the below video shows.

Governor Walker supports results like those seen at Messmer Catholic School. We hear lip service from Democrats and unions that they seek it too, so why then do they so heavily oppose schools like Messmer that actually teach Black Children, not just shuffle them through the system and get them on welfare checks, stuck in the ghettos?

Americans are beginning to see both Democrats and unions for the thuggery they encourage to stay in power while they ignore the plight of the people they claim they serve.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walkers Budget Reforms Are Working

by lewwaters

When union members lose the greed and contribute a small portion toward their health care premiums and pensions, jobs are saved for everyone. In the case of teachers unions, the children win.

Unions and Democrats Continue ‘Sticking It’ to the Middle Class

by lewwaters

As states continue struggling with massive budget gaps and taxpayer dollars dry up due to high unemployment, Wisconsin took a bold step to finally grasp control of their past history of over spending. First they elected a majority Republican legislature and a Republican governor willing to stand up to the greedy public unions, one source of out of control spending.

Democrats still in the legislature, instead of debating the new bill proposed that would limit some collective bargaining of the unions, fled the state in an effort to prevent the bill from being voted on, denying the legislature a quorum.

Moveon’s ‘Defend the American Dream’ Rally Fizzles in the Rain

by lewwaters

The first ever event that I can recall held in Vancouver and sponsored by Moveon.org was held this evening at Fort Vancouver Way and Mill Plain Boulevard, in front of the Fort Vancouver Library at about 5:30. Given some of the vitriolic rallies in other areas of the country, I went down, camera in hand to witness how they acted.

I am very pleased to say that Vancouver did not display a violent or vitriolic outburst that has been seen in other areas. In fact, there really wasn’t much to see at all, other than the 35 or so people basically sign waving, some with homemade signs and some with more professionally made looking signs.

Although relatively peaceful, it seemed to lack any organization. People just seemed to appear from their cars, some wearing their “uniform of the day,” dirty looking work clothes with yellow safety vests and hard hats.

There were no speakers, no chanting of the commonly heard chants we’ve heard in other cities and not even a bullhorn. I also noticed the distinct lack of a single American Flag and since Tea Parties are accused of only being “White People,” not one single Black Person was present. Some moderate horn honking was noticed, but not as much as one would expect given the heavy traffic at that time of the day if they have the support claimed.

Republican Governor Saves 1,500 Union Jobs: Democrats Cry Foul!

by lewwaters

After Wisconsin’s legislature succeeded in passing their ‘budget repair bill,’ Governor, Scott Walker has rescinded some 1,500 lay-off notices that had been sent out to state union workers in the state. Rescinding the notices, Governor Walker issued a notice saying,

“The Legislature helped us save 1,500 middle-class jobs by moving forward this week with the budget repair. The state will now be able to realize $30 million in savings to balance the budget and allow 1,500 state employees to keep their jobs. The reforms contained in this legislation, which require modest health care and pension contributions from all public employees, will help put Wisconsin on a path to fiscal sustainability.”

“While tough budget choices certainly still lie ahead, both state and local units of government will not have to do any mass layoffs or direct service reductions because of the reforms contained in the budget repair bill. Moving forward the hardworking, professional public sector employees who show up to work every day and do an excellent job will help ensure Wisconsin has a business climate that allows the private sector to create 250,000 new jobs.”

For weeks now we have heard how “anti-union,” “mean-spirited,” “cold hearted” Governor Walker is, adding rhetoric to rhetoric against the Governor and the newly elected Republican legislature majority.

Who Do They Think Will Sign Their Paychecks?

by lewwaters

The older I am, the more amazed I become at hearing the same old cockamamie crap coming out of some people’s mouths. Even after being seen a total failure every where it was ever tried, there are still those who think they are downtrodden and mistreated by having to work for an employer in order to earn a paycheck.

Socialists are still pushing their idiocy in universities, unions and wherever they can attract a person to listen to their hyperbole.

Rob Lewis, the young socialist featured in the following video is a prime example as he complains about his employer and having to adhere to an employer’s instructions on how he desires his business to be run.

Heckling and Juvenile Antics of the Left

by lewwaters

How juvenile can the left get? I laugh as the little girl quickly folds her “Fake News” sign up when Mike Tobin turns around, but even funnier is the little boy who steps in and sticks out his tongue at the camera. Oh yeah, we really need them making decisions in America.

A hint for the juvenile left: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Shutting down dissent, interfering with the freedom of the press, acting like spoiled children, monopolizing air time, isn’t that what these childish leftists have always accused others of?
