Couv.com Wins 33rd Annual Telly Bronze Award

by lewwaters

Couv.com, Clark County’s Online News Network proudly sent out a Press Release earlier today announcing their video documentary on Pearson Field Airport from May 2011 has won the Bronze Telly Award.

The Telly Award was began in 1979 and first awarded in 1980. It is awarded for “Excellence in local, regional, cable, TV commercials, Non-Broadcast Video, TV Program.”

Couv.com, with studios located at US Digital is growing in popularity rapidly for their interviews and coverage of local people, places and events. Online for just a year, receiving such a prestigious award is quite a feather in their bonnet.

Far from just another blog site or print media, Couv.com has covered subjects ranging from questionable matters related to the Columbia River Crossing to the Clark County Fair. From the Christian Youth Theater to the plays by the Magenta theater downtown. They have conducted interviews with a survivor of the Rwanda massacre to a Boy Scout who walked 100 miles to champion Malaria prevention.

And of course, the award winning documentary on Pearson Airfield. Couv.com Press Release

It pleases me a great deal to extend a hearty congratulations to Couv.com and all of the great people down at their studios for their Journalistic honesty and integrity.

Well done all, you are all well deserving of this award.

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

by lewwaters

I’m sure we all recall the Disney song from the 1930’s by the same name, sung by 2 of the 3 little pigs as they danced around arrogantly believing their houses of straw and twigs would protect them from the Big Bad Wolf. It seems many in Clark County who have been arrogantly dancing around, feeling their own houses of straw and twigs are indestructible have created their own Big Bad Wolf, except this one isn’t so big or bad. In fact, he’s actually a nice guy and a very successful businessman.

What makes him a Big Bad Wolf is he isn’t going along with the current house of straw and twigs scheme in strapping struggling taxpayers with decades of tolls and higher taxes to pay for unneeded expensive projects that many members of the ruling class in Clark County desire.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, yes I am speaking of the owner of U.S. Digital, David Madore. David sees clearly how such projects as extending light rail from Portland across a new I-5 bridge is financially unsound and has spoken out, being gaveled down, ridiculed and made out to be a Big Bad Wolf by the ruling class and newspaper of record in Clark County for exercising his freedom of speech in openly exposing the project.

The Columbian’s Coverage of David Madore

by lewwaters

This blog no longer supports David Madore and calls upon him to resign immediately!

Highly successful Clark County businessman David Madore, owner of U.S. Digital has caught the attention of many citizens as well as that of the newspaper of record, the Columbian. It was Mr. Madore who took the initial brunt of Vancouver city council member Jeanne Harris’ verbal assault weeks ago in early September.

Since he stood up and began supporting conservative candidates and NoTolls.com, he has made frequent mention in the pages of the Columbian, lately for his philantrophical support of the FastNav system, resulting in the Columbian putting forth a poll on a private business owner.

Bearing that in mind, this poll will remain stuck at the top for the next week to see what others think of the coverage the Columbian has granted David Madore. Multiple selections allowed.
